Hehe, it's called the 'grunge' effect, it's designed to look dirty, and it is WAY more difficult to dot he grunge effect than to keep the images unblended.

I'm thoroughly confused. I have an Image that is 100x100 pixels and its file size is 68 KB. I have another image thats 300x430 pixels and is 24KB. The one thats 68 consists of only 4 colors and the 24KB image is over 40 colors. Both are in .jpg format... why?
What app did you use to save the images?
I've no idea why the filesizes are so big, but if you upload them, I'd be glad to resave them.
I dont care about the one thats big, i need the 100x100 to be 29KB or less

It might be to do with the amount of layers you used to create the image, although Im not entirely sure. When saving with photoshop, you can lower the quality to decrease the file size.
Also, when creating an avatar, your better off saving it as a gif! As they are very small files :)

its all one layer, I used a lot of layers to make it but I flattened them into one at the end thinking it'd make the image smaller in file size.

When zooming in you'll find that there's a few more than four colors, but it's still not too much for a GIF. I tried saving it as a JPG in Photoshop with a quality of 12 (the highest) and the expected filesize was still only about 10k. Ah, well, whatyagonnado.

Can you clarify? Oh, just take the pic and put it on a transparent form. Then use the eraser to erase around the image you want.
