I have never pronounced Thomas as TAHM-as. :(

TAHM-as is more like the pronounciation a scottish/countrybumpkin would use think Christopher Lambert as Highlander Connor Mcleod....

Perhaps it's a non-British pronunciation? I've never had anyone call me that. I've had people kindly emphasise the 'ass' in it and I've had the German version before, but never that one.
