Nothing is set in stone during the development of a game. What a character ends up as in the final game is what matters, not how many times the devs changed their mind while making the character. Do you think they intended for Vanille and Fang to be trapped crystal at the end since the first day they started the development? If not, were they "not supposed to be crystalized"? I bet there are tons of things that changed to something different than it started out as. You seem to be making a big deal out of this one issue because I dunno, you think a woman that doesn't act feminine is shocking? She can't possibly be heterosexual because she doesn't act in a feminine manner? I dunno, why don't you explain why?

Well, even though some girls are tomboys, they still have a sizable number of feminine traits. Lightning's final designation, however, doesn't have many feminine traits. In fact, the game developers even stated that she isn't very feminine. I also think they should have given her the more exotic real name of Averia instead of Claire, which I think of as a girly name. Her real name was originally intended to be Averia before they changed with to Claire.

How would her parents know what kind of woman she would turn out to be at the time of her birth?

Also, please supply evidence of "all tomboys having a sizable number of feminine traits".

Aha, yes, naming is destiny, but in what exact way? Does it have to do what ultimately happens to them, or is it more about the personality.

And this naming convention only exists when Tetsuya Nomura is the character designer.

This is such a hard choice, I'm torn between Vanille and Lightning, they're both "hot" in different ways. I voted Vanille though, since when I first played FFXIII I thought she was the "hottest."

Yeah, it's a shame that you can't actually vote for Lightning, though, isn't it? Apparently, She and her sister counts as one mind with two bodies, or something. At least according to this poll. If you like Lightning, you also have to like someone who looks like she's 15. Good luck with that!

I didn't notice the option to change the number of choices at that time, and it's too late now.

And Serah is 18 in XIII, and 21 in XIII-2. Her boobs appear to be slightly bigger in XIII-2, too.
