OK, OK I know that Dak left last Thursday, but I've been awfully busy since then and just haven't had the opportunity to share about his visit. So, in an attempt to correct this I want to say that Dakoda was a very awesome young man in word and deed. He not only lived up to my expectations of him, but he thoroughly impressed Don enough that Don went out of his way to personally invite him back if Dak decides to come back to California. Good job, Dakoda!
Since our visit together was limited to 2 days spread over 3, we made the decision to go spelunking up at California Caverns near San Andreas. I figured that since Dak has an affinity for falling into dark holes, the caves would present the perfect opportunity to practice his skills. Also, being so close to the San Andreas fault line presented the possibility that nature might reach out and help Dak into a hole or two! Well, nothing too dramatic happened in the caves (besides my claustrophobia rearing it's ugly head) we all made it out of the caves alive and in one piece. Below are a few snapshots we took:
