Vote for the US President

Carly's platform is weak. It's mostly been just "I'm not Hillary" That's what most of her speeches have been about. That and how Trump said she had an ugly face. I'm interested in her but I can't really find out what she's even about besides that she's "not Hillary" Which is hardly a reason to vote someone.

Rubio's platform is how we need to increase our military.(He's one of the senators who tried to botch international discussions with Iran with the stupid letter, he thinks we should "address" Iran... whatever that means...) And he is against net neutrality (pft.) He says he wants to cut taxes(give breaks to people with kids) but his plan would actually raise tax rates for housholds at 75k/yr to 35%. (Normally that's for people with a 400k/yr income)

A lot of the candidates, republican and democratic alike, have very loose terms as their running platforms. Many are just going for "I'm not Obama" which like the not hilary is hardly a reason to vote for someone. That or they are going for the emotional response for pro-life or about immigration. Their actual opinions on polices are a bit short. It is still "early" in the race though, that's probably why.

So even Trumps "telling it how it is" has been mostly emotional kneejerking the topics.

That's why many are liking Bernie Sanders as he's been pretty clear what his points are from the beginning.



And folks that's the "kc has been paying too much attention to news lately". The debate tonight should be interesting. Carly will actually be in it and Trump "promised" to be nice this time.

I watched the debate the other night. All the candidates did well, but Carly Fiorina gained a lot of ground; she is going to surge in the polls. Trump also stated that CNN treated him better than Fox News did. Also, it was watched by about 23 million viewers.

Yeah I watched it. It was trash. 3 hrs of blah. They didn't talk about any topics other than knee-Jerk reactions. I still have no idea how they are going to affect actual US issues.

Rand Paul sounded the most sane and that's surprising.

I've even heard people say they would never vote for someone who looks like Bernie Sanders. Less we forget that this country was founded on vanity and racism primarily with misogyny as a secondary. It's absurd. He's considerably older than his contenders.

Bernie Sanders. There. Easiest decision I ever made in my life.

Can Sanders come to Canada? Because right now I am liking him more than any of our candidates.

One web site states he's 5'8" (Google doesn't give his height, unlike most famous people), so he'd be 2" taller than Martin Van Buren. But, yeah, tall guys usually win the office. Hillary, on the other hand, is 5'7".

I dunno Harper and his Conservative MPs wouldn't be out of place in the more crazy end of the GOP. One recently said that the Earth absorbs all the spilled oil from the tar sands, so it's okay (i.e. won't hurt the environment). Another wrote in to say gay conversion therapy is cool by him. Or the fact that basically all environmental groups are being harassed by the CRA (our taxation body) if they try to speak out about the lack of environment on most election platforms. Apparently they are getting too political for charities? Which is why David Suzuki left the board of his foundation so he could blast the candidates.

why is everyone still saying Bernie is an undedog? because the media says so? I think the poll quite clearly shows he isn't. and I don't think EoFF is an oddity in that sense.

In the grand scheme, he is. Hilary is still the forerunner of the Democrats. And the Republican party is so flooded right now. They are just being talked about more because there are so many of them. So with Hilary and all the large amount of Republicanss in the news, people either don't know about Bernie, or he's not their first choice.

The internet crowd (eoff) loves Bernie but they really don't represent the most of America.

I see the Bernie love everywhere not just on forums :p he'd Obama 2.0. all the youngsters love him.

Yes, but, they are also the ones who vote the least. So even if 18-34 crowd loves him, they don't vote enough. So he doesn't end up with a majority cause of that. Hilary has a stronger base on that front for the Dems. She's beating him in near every state's polls.

Obama initially won because he got the 18-34 crowd to vote. If Bernie can do the same, he'll win. That group just doesn't vote as much though. The Republicans are doing a great job of stirring them up recently though. So they may. But he has to get past Hilary first. Many don't vote in primaries so that's the underdog challenge.
