A couple fights before the round is done.

Link vs. Megaman

The sound of hoof beats and rocket propulsion filled the air as two combatants rode into battle against each other.

One of them was a young man with pointed ears, a sack-like green hat, green tunic, and white trousers. He had a burnished shield with a silver, mirror-like finish and a longsword in a steel sheathe strapped to his back, and in his hands he held a drawn bow.

The other appeared to be a small preteen boy dressed in a blue suit. He had a metal helmet on, as well as metal gloves and boots. One of his arms was in the form of a large blaster, and his feet were strapped to the back of a robotic dog that seemed to have morphed into a rocket-board.

As they approached each other, both veered off to their left. Link pivoted quickly in his saddle, blue energy emanating from the tip of his arrow. He loosed it at Megaman just as Megaman turned and unleashed a large burst of energy from his buster arm.

Both projectiles collided with a crash, and Megaman’s buster blast won through, continuing along the path (albeit weakened) and hurling itself at Link.

Link ducked down and flung his body to the side of his horse, until his head was parallel with the ground. As the blast flew harmlessly over him, he righted himself and drew his sword and shield.

Wheeling his horse around for another pass, Link spurred it on and raised his sword high, his shield held to the side of his horse and easily able to be maneuvered upward.

Megaman spun his own mount around and jetted towards Link, his body beginning to glow.

As they approached each other, Megaman veered off to the right, using his mount’s superior maneuverability. Link dug his heels into Epona’s flanks just as Megaman unleashed a huge blast of energy.

Link immediately snapped his shield up and blocked the energy blast. As it connected with the shield, it was thrust back, hitting Megaman squarely in the chest and blasting him off of his mount.

Spurring Epona forward, Link leapt out of the saddle and landed right next to Megaman’s body, which had several circuits exposed in the chest area. Link leveled his sword at Megaman’s throat, not that the little robot boy was in a state that would allow him to continue fighting.
