Ease of play is a good thing, darlin'.

I would have to say the John Madden games. One game a year with minor changes.
Dragon Quest VIII- It was a charming and good game, but it's not really as great as people make it out to be. I'm a HUGE fan of RPGs and I couldn't play DQVIII for long because it was a big bore most of the time.
Vagrant Story- It was an EXTREMELY boring game despite people's claim of it being a great game.
Shadow of the Colossus- I can see how SotC could be a good game, but after you figure out how to kill a Colossus, the game becomes way too boring.
Valkyrie Profile- Even though it's among my favorite RPGs, VP does not live up to its hype. As unique as it was, it wasn't very exciting and it was more of a chore to play the game than it was fun.
Xenogears- I actually hate Xenogears. A lot. It wasn't fun, exploration was limited to a minimum, AND the storyline wasn't as great as the hype made it out to be.
FFVI- Possibly THE most overrated game that I know of. When I first played FFVI, I expected it to be really awe inspiring and breathtaking. Three hours into the game, I was bored out of my mind. The only reason I completed it was because it was an RPG and I never leave an RPG incompleted. Normally, you expect a game to build up more towards the end of the game, but in FFVI's case, the game got more and more boring as you progressed through it.
Surprisingly, as overrated as all those games are, all of them have pretty good soundtracks (except VS IMO), so that's a plus. :D
This baffles me. Each Colossus was a puzzle unlike the previous, and once you solved it, um, you pretty much kill it and move on to the next puzzle. Not to mention the game isn't much more than eight hours long, which doesn't leave much room to be "bored." Did you just get lost a lot or what?
Final Fantasy VII.
Once you find a Colossus' weak point, you're pretty much done with it (save for the few who weak points move around). The game had absolutely no replayability because once you figured out how to defeat each Colossus, the game would only last for about 2 to 3 hours on subsequent playthroughs.
Somebody thinks Vagrant Story is overrated? Man whatever you're taking to get high please tell me where I can get some of it.
