I read the first sentence. Funnily enough, it was the second, third and fourth that implied you were looking foward to it out of spite.

I read the first sentence. Funnily enough, it was the second, third and fourth that implied you were looking foward to it out of spite.
I guess I should explain those sentences more:
I couldn't give a flying smurf what you anti-PS3 people think.
I enjoy Sony games made on the PS2, so why shouldn't I get a PS3?
[b] I was considering buying a wii, but after seeing what comments people have directed at me and other people over the past few months, maybe not directly but indirectly, it can wait.[b]
I am a Nintendo fan, and because of some of the good titles I heard coming out for it, I thought, hey, may as well get one. But no. Changed my mind. I'm not buying a PS3 first out of spite, I just don't appreciate people going on and on at me for wanting to have a console that I enjoy gaming on - Playstation consoles never let me down before so..
I also had a think about my GameCube. Never did like it as much as the PS2 - even though I enjoy going it, my game collection has never been that high. I reckon I'd get more out of the PS3 personally.
PS3 FTW. FTW.
This was mainly to show:
1) I am a proud supporter of the PS3
2) ..don't think there any other points atm.

I wish I had the money/contacts to scalp a PS3 for a few grand.
Still, aside from Resistance it doesn't look like there's too much going on on PS3 yet.
And if I were a videogame store employee I would be pissed right about now.
I never played the Socom, or Kill Zone games, but God of War, and Shadow of the Colossus, were good enough to paint a picture of Sony games being of high quality.
I give the PS3 6 months to a year until sony pulls the plug. The worst thing about it is that you cant play any PS1 or PS2 games on it.
I don't have anything against Sony. I like Sony. I liked my PS1 and I love my PS2. I would love to get a PS3.But it's simple economics. I'm married with a kid and cannot afford $600 no matter how good a deal it is. And that's before an extra controller and any games. It took me months of saving and arguing with my wife just to get the 360. $250 for the Wii, which is getting good reviews? That's the road I'm going down.
Maybe, but I don't think those were what Setzer had in mind. I think he's mixing the company who makes the hardware with the third party developers. That's also why I'm looking an answer from Setzer, not of you.
Oh, you mean about as long as the PS2 then, right? What exactly is your point with that statement?
My point is that it will bomb, not everyone has $600 to spare for a console and +$70 games add that to the fact the PS3 cant play PS1 or PS2 games and you've got yourself a bad deal. I like the PS1 and the PS2 but this was just a bad idea this is how Sega bombed when they released the Sega Saturn.Quote:

As far as I'm aware, the PS3 will be able to play both PS1 and PS2 games, although there are a small amount of them that are buggy and not yet compatible - but it's a small percentage.

Where are you getting your information, dude? Someone's feeding you incorrect stuff.
To add to what BoB said, the games will not cost you $70+ each. As with the Xbox 360, games for the PS3 will average at $59.99, depending on the publisher and the game.
GO PS3! FIGHT THE POWER!
Clearly, enough people can afford the PS3 so far, every one of them is sold out!
When those who can afford it for 600 all have it, the price will drop.
Furthermore, backwards compatibility is far from the most important thing with the PS3. I already have 3 machines that can play my PS1 games, and 1 that can play my PS2 games.
backwards compatibility is probably the most important thing to me...but as always im gonna get a PS3 JUST because of FF13....it was the same with the PS2 and FF10 i just hope that the 13's arent as disappointing as FF10 and 10-2 were....
Thats not a small percentage, 8,000 games is alot and thats for just PS2 games alone who knows how many more PS1 games the PS3 cant play.
The same thing happened to the Sega Saturn and the 3DOC when they launched. Most of the people who bought the PS3 so far are either rich kids or gamers in their 20's who have jobs. When the PS3 starts to become avalible and kids and teenagers (who make up a big part of the market mind you) cant afford them and their parents arnt willing to buy it for them then the sales will begin to slip. I remember just how much hype there was for the Saturn before and during launch but then as the time passed it just died. The same thing that killed Sega is going to kill Sony in the gaming market.Quote:

And how long will that be? It took Sony about two years to drop the price of their PS2.Quote:

I disagree, imagine how pissed off anyone here would be if they sold their PS2 and PS1 and bought a PS3 and then tried to play FFVII on it and then it doesnt work? I'd get pissed if I spent $600 on something that isnt backwards capable.Quote:
