All right, it's time I get in on this. easy, but fun
I'm small and I'm bouncy,
I give good advice.
I'll tell you my secrets,
if you work 'round my vice.
I'm part of a side quest,
and yet,
it's totally optional,
and... I forget!!!

Chocobo Sage.
Like I said, not exactly difficult.
You're up!
I think I'll leave it for the next person again.
ok, ill give this a try
I dwell in a place where light rarly can reach,
Moving around so quickly, it is hard to dodge me,
If we happen to meet,
We will have a short encounter,
But if you manage to suvive,
You will leave with a great gift,
Who Am I?
i know it sucks, and it really easy but its my first riddle
nope
Emerald Weapon?

I can't think of the weapon that powers up as you grow weaker.
I can't remember the name of it, but the enemy skill that takes off damage equal to your max HP minus your current HP. It could be ????
Hehe, think I'll take this one so I can be asking questions in both riddle threads at once :D.
Beginners luck could help you but better to know when to fight,
Just watch for my position and you'll avoid my might.
Two in front and one in back,
My loss will cause the floor to crack.
You've reached the end of high speed chase,
Now my flame and wrath you face.
Arm in arm your allies go,
Just you to stand and fight your foe.
Some of us are missing but please don't gripe,
To answer this just name our type.
This may actually be really easy, but we'll see how it goes.
Weapons! Ultimate Weapon?
Sorry, not right. I don't know what logic you used so I can't say if you're thinking along the right lines or not.
This was how I was thinking...
Beginners luck could help you but better to know when to fight- Better to know when you'r ready to take on them.
Just watch for my position and you'll avoid my might- Ultimate Weapon is flying around etc. Avoid Emerald Weapon in sub marine.
Two in front and one in back- don't know
My loss will cause the floor to crack- when you beat Ultimate Weapon it becames a big crater on the ground.
You've reached the end of high speed chase- Don't know
Now my flame and wrath you face- Ultimate Weapons final attack is Shadow Flare.
Arm in arm your allies go- don't know
Just you to stand and fight your foe- anything about figthing Weapons
Some of us are missing but please don't gripe- In the story, there was 7 Weapons but some of them died in the battle against Jenova.
To answer this just name our type- Weapons.
Ok, well vaguely right lines on some, but it has nothing to do with the Weapons. I'll give a clue that the lines that rhyme are paired.
Umm could it be the Motor Ball from the end of the highway as your leaving midgar?
Thats involved in the answer.
Scratch dat all the machine bosses?
the whole motorcycle getaway?
are you jsut talking about robotic enemies?
Robotic bosses, and here's why.
Beginners luck could help you but better to know when to fight,
Just watch for my position and you'll avoid my might.
The fight with Scorpion Tail. "Don't attack while it's tail's up!"
Two in front and one in back,
My loss will cause the floor to crack.
The fight with the Airbuster. It's a 3-member side attack, so 2 are on one side, 1 on the other.
You've reached the end of high speed chase,
Now my flame and wrath you face.
The fight with Motor Ball at the end of the freeway chase.
Arm in arm your allies go,
Just you to stand and fight your foe.
The fight with Carry Armor in the Junon Sub Dock. It grabs up to two allies, leaving the third to fight.
Some of us are missing but please don't gripe,
To answer this just name our type.
Robot bosses.
If this is right, I pass my turn to the next person. My current personal situation still exists. :(
P.S.: Tried cracking your general FF riddle for a few minutes... if I had more time, I'd post something other than "Erm... Ramuh in FFIX?" :D
if it's right then i get ta go cause i guessed robot bosses first
princeofdarknez gets a perfect answer which means it's Shiva's Effect's go.
o u had to explaine it?....oh well. i dont have one right now so someone else can go
You don't have to, it's just nice when people do, also a lot of explanations are a bit off but wind up at the right answer so I was impressed he got it so accurate. You would have got it still if I'd got back sooner.
Looks like I have time to think up a riddle, so I'll just throw one out here, seeing as I did solve the last one. :D *takes back his offer to the next guy, sorry* :D
From the one who answers neither yes nor no
Comes a striking, almost definitive blow
Fear not, for one more time won't take you yet
But the hot springs just might send you sinking.
Egregious hint: If you know your Zen, the first line is enough for the answer.
edit: [q=PhoenixAsh]You don't have to, it's just nice when people do, also a lot of explanations are a bit off but wind up at the right answer so I was impressed he got it so accurate.[/q]
Yeah, it's better to post how you got the riddle so riddlers aren't frustrated by random guessers. I found Phoenix's riddle to be way easier than usual, that's probably why I was able to pin it so well. :)
Not only wrong, it's way wrong. :D Try again.
Oh yeah, I should make this clear: Who/What is this referring to? There are two answers I'll accept, and I'll give one away as a final hint or something if it gets that bad.
is it the snow witch you fight to get alexander? or is it alexander himself.
Nope, and nope. Both way off. However, there is a commonality between one of your answers and the answer itself.
I'm only gonna give this as the answer if it's the squirrel things outside Bone Village, because otherwise Google through up 'Mu' way too easy and I feel cheap.
From the one who answers neither yes nor no (basically neither yes nor no means 'mu' apparently)
Comes a striking, almost definitive blow (L4 suicide)
Fear not, for one more time won't take you yet (takes off only 3/4 HP)
But the hot springs just might send you sinking. (it's magic attack, I think it had something to do with gold if I remember).
wow these riddles are of very "unthought of" things ^^;
Cheapo! :D I should have realized this was the Internet, rather than asking someone directly and watching them squirm around uncomfortably not having a working knowledge of Zen. But you did think of Googling, so go ahead.Quote:

While I do feel bad taking this, that comment about my riddles getting easy needs to be dealt with :D.
It comes from high when high things die.
It comes from where people who look high look high when someone who looks high dies.
It comes from someone who looks at something that goes high but doesn't die.
It comes from somewhere that went high came down and hides what punishes what dies.
It comes when going high to make a high guy die.
It comes not high but near where a high thing went low and made a lot die.
It comes from high but not as high as you can go high and also near where the high thing went low and made a lot die.
It comes from where it's too high around to go so don't go high go the other way unless you have a thing that goes high but only as high as the high things go and take someone who didn't die but did what people do when they die.
Now you've got that I'm gonna be cruel cos that might be too easy. Combine that answer with the next answer and that'll give the actual answer :D.
I take my strength from others and give that strength to you,
So when they try and use there strength then you can use it too.
A lot like me exist you see but I stand on my own,
While I learn many lessons all my classmates have all grown.
This ones still a bit easy because I rushed it, but it might take a while to get the full answer :D.
the second one is obviously enimy skill materia. The first one makes my head hurt though.
Damn, thought I may have made it too easy, ah well, still two more stages to go.
By the way the last part of the first section should say TOO high, not to high. I'll edit it.
The Enemy Skill Materia in the Chocobo Sage's house? It's high up... in elevation.
The first one sounds a little like Jenova to me... many of those lines suggest the Black Materia and the Northern Cave, and other Jenova-ish things.
Besides the aforementioned Enemy Skill references, though, I have no idea what the second one's describing.
I'll go with Shadow Flare Enemy Skill.
The last few lines of Riddle 1 seem to describe Ultimate Weapon emerging from the Northern Crater (near where Jenova crashed) and running amok. He starts at the crater near Junon, which you can't walk over, but you can fly over, but you can only fly as high as Ultimate Weapon. Riddle 2 clearly refers to the Enemy Skill materia.
I couldn't stop thinking of marijuana, by the way.
*Glares at princeofdarknez for getting the answer using almost completely the wrong logic*
Well the first half of the riddles still there if anyone wants to solve it, I guess it's princeofluckyguessez turn :D.
Screw you, Mr. I'm Going to Look Up Zen on Google. I'd say that's about even. :D
Gloomy opening leads to an
Exquisite, peaceful setting.
Grander it then becomes, before
eerily descending.
No egregious hints this time.
*turns off the light and unsheathes sword*
(Stab in the dark)
Aeris's house? :choc: :choc:
*sheathes sword*
Hmmm, I don't think if you were describing a place you'd do it so obviously... though maybe I'm just suspiscious, so is it the game itself?
Gloomy opening leads to an (Midgar)
Exquisite, peaceful setting. (World Map)
Grander it then becomes, before (Travel the world, go into space, wind up on a quest to save the world)
eerily descending. (The Northern Crater)
[q=Lehteb] *turns off the light and unsheathes sword*
(Stab in the dark)
Aeris's house?
*sheathes sword*[/q]
Cute, but no. :) Completely off.
Phoenix: Not quite. I don't want to give too much away just yet, but I feel the word "setting" may be throwing you off - it can take on different meanings in different contexts.
Ok, I'm probably way off, but I'm going to give it a shot.
The Sleeping Forest?
Yeah, it's not right.
New hint: It's not a place. The word setting isn't terribly important, but try and think of how it could take on different meanings.
This isn't a real guess more a sort of 'am I aiming in a better direction?'
The Snowboard game?
Gloomy opening leads to an (either the caves or the events prior to the game)
Exquisite, peaceful setting. (the track opens up and it becomes quite relaxed and free)
Grander it then becomes, before (lot of corners, obstacles near the end etc.)
eerily descending. (the leap off the cliff at the end into nothing)
As I say, not a massively confident guess, just trying to find the right logic.
The place where Aeris dies? (forgot the name >_<)
Triple T: As I said, not a place.
Phoenix: Not quite. I guess you are applying the right kind of logic, but to the wrong kind of idea. Step back and try applying it to other different facets of the game.
Hint for the while: Would it help if I replaced peaceful setting with peacefulness? This might help you get started in the right direction.
Is it the opening?
Gloomy opening leads to an (gloomy music and wavering camera over stars)
Exquisite, peaceful setting. (leads to Aeris in the alley)
Grander it then becomes, before (pulls back, music peaks, title shot)
eerily descending. (camera descends to follow the train, music becomes eerier).
:smash:
Hmmmm.... Is it the music when Aeris dies? I won't break it line by line, but the riddle does kinda describe it. Possibly including the music just before when you fight Jenova as the first line.
Phoenix has found the right idea, but is still off. This hint should clinch it for you audiophiles, and that is, first letter capitalization is so key. Sometimes I can pull off sticking the answer down the side. :D
I knew there was something odd about how you wrote your lines! Okay I have no ideas here, and don't know musical notes (VERY clever btw), so I'll guess One-Winged-Angel, and if it's not that leave guessing for people who have a logical idea for now.
Now you're on the right track. Answer's still wrong though. And thanks. :)Quote:

You're thinking the right way, but I don't consider Electric de Chocobo to be eery. :) What about the other words in the riddle? That may help describe the sections...
Aeris' theme?
Okay I'm gonna reenter the guessing (I already said Aeris' Theme), and say Seto's theme because that actually might fit.
Wrong keys, both of you. :(
HOOTERS: There are four keys referenced, by the way.
Umm it's not Don Corneo's them is it? (G, E, G, E,) :smash:
No, I didn't think so.
Nope, HOOTERS. :( Corneo just isn't exquisite, man. :)
OOC: How do you pronounce his last name? Corny-oh, or Cor-nay-oh?
Okay, here's the mercy hint.
It's one of the three songs orchestrated in FFVII Reunion. Two have been mentioned, and are wrong.
edit: Come to think of it, my ears may have been incorrect in determining the first key - since the tonality changes so rapidly in that first gloomy section of the piece. But the first note is a G, that is for sure.
hrm...the music in the Whirlwind Maze, which is then the World Map Music after you lose Cloud?
*thrashes and bangs his head against a wall* = Nope.
No one gets it by the end of the day, I'm killing the riddle (providing an answer, that is).
Liberi Fatali?
EDIT-- oh and I pronounce it corny-oh
Wrong game, man.
The correct answer is Main Theme of Final Fantasy VII.
Starts out in G (arguable, since it's transitory)
Goes to E, then to G again, and then to Em, before repeating.
Next poster gets it or can tell me to do another one.
i guess Doomsday gives the next post, since he posted after PoD?
wat u talking bout...i...knew it was...the...wrong game, yeah, yeah i knew that just...'testing' ya....:riiight:
Alright, I guess I can think of another one... *partly brain-fried*
Everyone says they know what happened,
Despite vehemently disagreeing with each other.
They declare it closed, and a done deal.
But I just might change all that, just you wait.
So go ahead and cease your debates,
For only I can truly act as the arbiter.
This one will probably be really hard (or really easy). Think outside the box to make it really easy. :)
*already anticipates some of the answers, and apologizes for its misleadingness once more* :)
the promised land?
Nope.
I'm gonna g out on a limb here...Aeris' *Alleged* Ressurection?
Im thinking the ending sequence.
Advent Children...?
Or Hironobu Sakaguchi and the rest of the writing team.
I like Advent Children as a guess.
Advent Children is what I was referring to. Perhaps I added too many lines, but in any case, well solved.
Big D, I guess it's your turn.
dang howd u guess dat BigD? just a guess?
Nah, it just kinda made sense to me... there's always a lot of speculation about "what happened next", with lots of fans who think they know for sure... however, the only ones who can really tell us are the creators themselves. And how to they tell us...? By making a sequel, hopefully one that'll answer all the unsolved puzzles.:)Quote:

The materia system?
I really have to post here more... I just had to read 4 pages of riddles :)
I'm gonna say materia aswell but give a fuller answer
Some say it’s the same as what came before (referring to player's views on the materia system)
But I would say that they’re just sore (your view on their views)
that progress has been paving the way
For a brand new system to help you play (stuff they did in earlier games built up to this new system)
At the heart of the matter, (now actually talking about what it is)
it’s the essence of life (life stream, mako energy etc.)
The magic inside, (")
Shining through the strife (could be referring to the ending where it's the lifestream that destroys meteor)
Bringing good or woe, (materia can damage or heal, or that it can be used for good or bad)
how can you know? (you don't know, depends on the user)
Someone thought that some of it was just for show (Aeris thought that Holy was just decoration and was actually useless)
Now don’t be shy, just press reply (unnecessary stuff that makes it sound good :D )
I’ll tell you if you’re right and never lie

Way to steal my answer angle.
Nah, you can take it if its right.
Exactly right. And I mean exactly.Quote:

I've seen the materia system criticised - mainly by die-hard old-schoolers - for being too similar to FFVI's Magicite system.Quote:

Double-meaning here - the literal interpretation is right, but also, 'materia' is Latin for 'matter', hence "the heart of the matter".Quote:
At the heart of the matter
But yeah, Maxico wins:D
Ok im not great at this but Ill give it a shot.

Definately. Or most likely, anyways.
Very well done, though.
yup, go phoenixAsh
I might not be back for a couple of days so I'll let someone else go.
guess dat makes sense BigD...but idk bout ur riddle...i'll guess the action commands
Nobody's going, and I don't feel like making a hard riddle, so here's an easy one to keep things going.
First on the list,
I can save you many times,
But it won't be long before
I'm almost worthless to you.
Pheonix Down or Potion?
Potion! Go!
Alrighty, let's see here...
Although I was not part of the plan
It was what I wanted
Finally, a new person to take control
And I've got a better system of working things..
Who am I?
Cait Sith?
rufus?
Dragoon Kain got it. And since it was on the second guess, you are awarded with 50 Rubey Points! Your turn.
i suck at making riddles so i pass my turn to anyone who wants it.
Just make an easy one like I did. There's nothing wrong with easy riddles. :p
I guess if Dragoon Kain doesn't want to make one I'll have a go...
A gentle twist,
with just one flick,
Of the wrist,
The flying death,
And twirling doom,
And through the air,
You watch me zoom,

Yet from death is either knew life, (Phoenix/Life pairing)
Or the end of life of another. (KOTR or some other attacking pairing)
sheesh PhoenixAsh lol go u
Hehe, thanks.
Okay I'm gonna just post the unanswered part of my earlier riddle just so it's not wasted completely, no lucky guesses accepted this time though, I want a proper explanation!
It was previously used in combinationb with another riddle. Princeofdarknez guessed the answer to both riddles but using the wrong logic for the first one.... so no, really but we do have more of a clue what the answer is from the combination with enemy skill to make shadow flare..... It's on p28 I think...
Erm....Weapons? Just seems right to me.
Ultimate Weapon. *refuses to provide logic* :D
It's actually because I don't have time just right now, but I still wanted to irk you. I don't even know if it's right. :D
*sighs and double-posts to bump the thread*
It comes not high but near where a high thing went low and made a lot die. (Weapon came from the Northern Crater - where Jenova landed).
It comes from high but not as high as you can go high and also near where the high thing went low and made a lot die.
It comes from where it's too high around to go so don't go high go the other way unless you have a thing that goes high but only as high as the high things go and take someone who didn't die but did what people do when they die. (You can't go over Weapon with the Highwind, and take Cloud, because he didn't die, but he went into the Lifestream.)
That's really why I chose Ultimate Weapon that time. *shrugs*
Sorry, nope. I did wonder why noone was actually guessing here. It's actually one of my easier riddles... I'm not giving the answer yet because this is probably my last for a while.

You can't seriously be expecting people to actually care about this riddle any more, can you? Just let it go, man.
Seriously...it hasn't been guessed. It can't be that easy. Take it as an I give up.
Fine. Thought someone might have at least tried though.
(Eeeep...sorry. My post sounded a lot more snippy than I meant it to.)
Then how about another hint?
Don't worry about it Giga Guess, wouldn't have even been vaguely bothered by your post had it not been directly after the previous two. It doesn't matter, it wasn't a great riddle, just thought people would have taken a stab instead of ignoring it. Anyway that's done now, whoever wants next riddle is up.
I guess I'll go
Inscribed with ancient text
Good for leveling AP
Yoshiyuki is next
To match the outfit
Is Cloud's only decision for use
It's not the best, but who cares
Uh...Apacolypse?
I'm gonna go with Rune Blade, because the next strongest weapon is Yoshiyuki. Ancient inscriptions = runes.
(It's actually Rune Blade, Enhance Sword, Murasame, then Yoshiyuki, but whatever.)
rune blade is correct, go Prince of Darkness
Uhhh... okay, here's an easy one.
There exists but one who bestows this might
In the western continent it lies
Magical powers it gives to all
Ensuring a quick resolution to the fight.
Odin
There exists but one who bestows this might (the one and only)
In the western continent it lies (in Nibelheim, in the Shinra Mansion)
Magical powers it gives to all (he's a summon, usable by ne1)
Ensuring a quick resolution to the fight. (instant kill on all or most enemies)
Not quite. SE is somewhat there, but seems to be misinterpreting parts of it.
MP Absorb materia?
hmm.... hades, because he is found in gelnika airplane under the western continent, anyone can use it, and it puts stop on them so the fight is over faster
Mmm... nope. Let's just say the answer isn't as obvious as you think. (My decoys worked, it seems.)
Emerald Weapon
There exists but one who bestows this might (one of several weapons but only underwater one)
In the western continent it lies (under the continent)
Magical powers it gives to all (it's Aire Tam attack thingy)
Ensuring a quick resolution to the fight. (To much materia and ur screwed)
Okay noone seems to be getting anywhere here, so I'll go with this, which I thought earlier but seemed too obvious. Time materia?
There exists but one who bestows this might (This line worries me, as I think E-Skill will do pretty much everything Time does)
In the western continent it lies (I really can't remember if you do or not)
Magical powers it gives to all (It's a magic materia...)
Ensuring a quick resolution to the fight. (You get haste from it)
Plus TIME is spelt down the side...
Like I said this seems way too easy....
yeah its gotta be time or cait siths limits,
There exists but one who bestows this might=cait sith
In the western continent it lies=you get him in the gold saucer
Magical powers it gives to all=it could help you like healing you or so
Ensuring a quick resolution to the fight.=or an instant victory
Both Time Materia and Cait Sith's Limits are incorrect. Although TIME is written down the side on purpose. :p
Hint: The "it" in line 3 doesn't necessarily equal the "it" in line 2 (which does equal the "one" in line 1), which implies that there could be more than one entity involved in the answer to this riddle.
This isn't an elegant riddle, by any means. :shame:
the monster with the E-Skill big guard
There exists but one who bestows this might (idk, but i think only one monster has the ability)
In the western continent it lies (on the beach of that continent)
Magical powers it gives to all (the spell big guard you get is cast on all units, and given to all those who have an e-skill)
Ensuring a quick resolution to the fight. (gives haste)
^ But the Wutai continent is the estern continent. That's the central continent.
shoot idk where the thing is i just heard bout it so i thought it a good guess, so...hush lol
No, Wutai is western. Westernmost, actually.
Shiva's Effect got it right. The name of the Big Guard yielding monster is Beach Plug.
cool...ummm...lets see

There we go, it wasn't hard at all but I thought I could string ansem along. Thanks for ruining it :rolleyes2 Go ahead.
Hehe sorry, I wanted to control the riddle for the 1000th post :D
The blood of the planet,
That runs over mountains,
It has halitosis,
But it can do enough spells to make up for it.
I'm not gonna give more because it'd be too big a givaway, so I'll leave it for a few posts and see how people do.
[q=PhoenixAsh] Hehe sorry, I wanted to control the riddle for the 1000th post :D[/q]You are so going to get screwed by someone. :p
Hehe not thanks to you, now guarenteed one more guess and me saying yes brings me to it :D.
E. Skill Materia?
Woohoo we made 1000 posts! I must say I'm impressed at the way this thread held together, and held interest. I wonder how long this'll last...
Hmmm, this riddle isn't hard as such, but it requires a step that I don't want to say as it'll give it away. I might add some lines later and see if that helps. Sorry it's not E-Skill though I see the logic.
The kicks people get these days... :p I seriously thought someone would just double post or something to screw you up.Quote:

Doomsday again I see your logic, but no. Remember this is me posting a riddle here :P.

So why is it not Enemy Skill? I'll go with a monster and say Malboro or Blue Dragon until I see more.
I'm normally good at guessing games or riddles, but Phoenixash, your riddles hurts my head lmao. my guess is just...materia
Hehe sorry, was a bit cruel with this one. Here's part two:
Each stands alone not with the rest,
Finding the link is what I test.
A madman named an unlucky beast,
And aptly so to say the least.
Note that this is a clue to solving the riddle, it won't get you the answer.
is it cloud, beacause he's cloned ???
Each stands alone not with the rest, (the lines of the original riddle refer to separate things)
Finding the link is what I test. (find the commonality behind them)
A madman named an unlucky beast, (next line makes this line Don Corneo)
And aptly so to say the least. (makes me think of Aps)
The blood of the planet, (Lifestream)
That runs over mountains, (Green or Black Chocobo, or it refers to line 1)
It has halitosis, (Malboro - Bad Breath, any other monster with a Breath attack)
But it can do enough spells to make up for it. (Has to refer to the monster)
Hmm... I'm going to say the Wutai Continent as my answer.
- the Lifestream flows there and creates that Mime materia that you need a Green or Black Chocobo to get.
- There must be some monster on the continent with a Breath attack that also performs other spells.
- Corneo and Rapps are part of the Yuffie's subquest, which takes place on the Wutai Continent.
Nice effort PoD, sadly the wrong madman, which meant you lost your way on getting the right answer, a LOT right though.
why'd u post one part to only post another later? why not post both parts at the same time?
Because he thought it would be too easy if he posted all of it so he kept this bit as a hint...
but still if ur gonna post two parts might as well post 'em both so u don't have to look at one, then scroll down, then scroll back up so on and so forth
Never heard of copy and paste?
Thanks for explaining that while I wasn't here one_winged_angel, and for the benefit of Shiva's Effect :D :

Could the madman be Hojo....?
He could, but that isn't the answer to the riddle...
np, just doing my bit for the community :DQuote:

If the madman is Hojo then the named beast will be Red XIII.... Here's what I got:
Each stands alone not with the rest, (The seperate Sephy clones)
Finding the link is what I test. (The reunion?)
A madman named an unlucky beast, (madman Hojo, unlucky 13, beast he's a tiger thing)
And aptly so to say the least. (he has a red coat so he should be "Red")
don't know how to link it to the first verse though.... :(
As I said, the second part is not a clue to the answer, it's to help with solving the first part. The first part is the actual riddle.
I think that the second verse may be referring to the reunion, so...
The blood of the planet, (mako energy)
That runs over mountains, (northern crater)
It has halitosis, (bad breath could be referring to the fact that a good enough dose of mako energy can kill you)
But it can do enough spells to make up for it. (but it's redeeming side is that it makes materia)
dunno how to link it to Red though...
Sorry you're going the wrong way with this, consider PoD';s answer is my best advice. for now.
Linking Red to Materia makes me think of Bugenhagen's observatory in Cosmo Canyon, where he shows you the master materia...... *boggles*Quote:

Ah! Hojo as a Madman was my next guess, but I didn't even consider Red XIII - I was thinking his Bad Rap or his HO512, but Red XIII makes so much more sense - he's red, after all.
So, here we go again. I was trying to crack this while watching Seinfeld - in other words, I probably failed. :D
The blood of the planet, (Lifestream)
That runs over mountains, (Green or Black Chocobo, or it refers to line 1)
It has halitosis, (HO512 does a breath attack)
But it can do enough spells to make up for it. (It also casts some stuff, I guess)
Each stands alone not with the rest, (the lines of the original riddle refer to separate things)
Finding the link is what I test. (find the commonality behind them)
A madman named an unlucky beast, (Hojo naming Red XIII)
And aptly so to say the least. (Red XIII is red)
Now I'm having trouble with fitting in lines 1/2 with the others...
- Lifestream
- HO512
- Red XIII
Then again, Red XIII is to be used as a clue to what lines 1-4 should represent, and is not part of the riddle itself...
Hell, maybe the link is Red XIII. The Lifestream embodies itself in materia that Red uses, and he and HO512 were Hojo specimens. So I'll give that as an answer.
Hehe, you're doing well, PoD has a lot of the riddle cracked, he's just ignoring his own solution and the possibly the most important thing I've said. You keep taking lines 3 and 4 together even though you know they shouldn't be, and you keep using the second part in your answer.
Okay I'll give another clue, the last line of the second part is possibly the most important. Also remember I was cruel when I just posted the first part :D.
Does the answer have anything at all to do with Red? Or Hojo? 'Cause it could be another beast that he names, maybe that you can find in those places? Or maybe it has something to do with Vincent? He can turn into a beast, and he was involved with the shinra??? I'll say him as a guess...........
The blood of the planet, (Lifestream.)
That runs over mountains, (Places where the lifestream shows, or chocobos that can run over mountains? But if this line is separate from the first, then maybe it has nothing to do with the Lifestream.... Could it be a river?)
It has halitosis, (Monsters that can cast Breath, or a place with a hostile atmosphere?)
But it can do enough spells to make up for it. (It's difficult to see how this line could be separate form the one before, as it says that it makes up for having haltosis.......)
Each stands alone not with the rest,
Finding the link is what I test.
A madman named an unlucky beast,(Hojo and Red XIII?)
And aptly so to say the least.
Let me get this straight.......The first verse is the actual riddle. So you could work out the answer just by looking at that. The second verse is JUST a guide, to get you on the right lines? How? How will the answer to the last two lines help you out with the answer to the first verse???
What I think has been worked out is:
-Each line of the first verse should be interpreted separately from the others
-When you come up with an answer for each line, you have to find the link beetwen the four items/people/places
But I don't get how the last two lines come into it..... are they together, not separate?
You've understood how to solve the riddle, but you aren't getting the details right. Okay I'll say that for the second part take lines one and two together (As has been done), and three and four together (As has been done), but bear in mind the fourth line isn't just written to add another line.
*Jumps up'n down* More clues, PhoenixAsh! Too complicated for meeeeeee!!!! *boggles*
Well, I just can't bend my mind enough to separate lines 3/4, or whenever I do, I can't think of the instances that you refer to.
I'm going to guess that Lines 3/4 of part 2 refer to line 4 of part 1. That would place Red XIII in the answer to part 1, which as we have seen has gotten me nowhere. I believe Hojo also named Lost Number in the Nibelheim mansion, so let's stick him in there and see where it goes.
Lifestream - the blood of the planet
Green/Black Chocobo - can climb over mountains
Dorky Face - the monster in the Mansion that does a Funny Breath attack, or any Breath-doing monster
Lost Number - can do a fair amount of spells
Red XIII can be used as a clue because his L4 limit is obtained once you defeat Lost Number, and Hojo is involved with both Red XIII and Lost Number.
Well trout, I don't really know. Nibelheim? Vincent's Waterfall?
Nibelheim Mansion? Huh. No idea here, aside from that.
