Lady, if you rock out to this and some 80's you can take a road trip with me anytime.
Cheese music is awesome in the car. Especially at stop lights with the windows down.
We'll put this on the road trip play list. :p
And NGC, Mors Principium is really good. Do you like Insomnium, or Omnium Gatherum? Stuff like that?

A lot of Deadmau5 lately o.o
Baths. He opened for Cold War Kids the other day, blew me away. He just looked so damned enthusiastic and happy to be playing that night.
YouTube - Rhapsody of Fire - On The Way To Ainor
This band is awesome.
Artist: Della Reese
Song: Bye, Bye Blackbird
Album: Della on Stage
Year: 1962
After The Burial - Aspirations
This whole album is pretty solid.
"Insurgentes" - Steven Wilson, Insurgentes.
Wait Till You See My Smile - Pregnant Alicia Keys
Slint - Good Morning, Captain
Classic. This album, Spiderland, had an incalculable influence on both post-rock and math rock, and this song is pretty much its emotional peak and centrepiece. It's not surprising that they broke up after releasing it, because there's basically no way they could have topped it. (Although they did briefly reform in 2005 and 2007 and perform one new song, but they have not as of yet recorded anything else and there are no indications that the band members are planning to do so). There are also persistent rumours that some of the band members had to be periodically institutionalised while or after recording this album because the emotional content was so intense. I could believe it.
Endgame album by Rise Against. It still sounds like Rise Against so I'm happy, but it's not same same as can happen.
Utada Hikaru - passion
Utada Hikaru - Simple and clean / hikari (same song in 2 languages =) )
Chocobo Song done with Guitar
I can't stop listening to it :)
YouTube - Grim - My Last Request
Best hip hop I've heard in a long time.
YouTube - DJ RAVINE'S BEST MIX EVER (Rebecca Black - Friday Electro Dubstep Mix)
The best Friday remix I have ever heard.
The Black Keys - These Days
Time to make a cd...
"Moods Inspiring Clouds" by Knight Area
Cool cover.
Duke Pearson Trio - Exodus
Lykathea Aflame - Walking in the Garden of Ma'at
One of the more atypical death metal bands out there and therefore probably one of the best bands to get people into the genre. Their sound is surprisingly light and airy; with the exception of this track (which is synthesizer music with nature sounds overdubbed), it'll never be confused for new age music, but most of it's in a major key and it's unusually upbeat for the genre. The lyrics aren't particularly typical for the genre either, usually dealing with philosophical issues like the struggle over adversity. The musicians are all staggeringly proficient at their instruments and the composition is sound. The band are supposedly working on a second album, but they've been working on it for a long time; it has been eleven years since the release of Elvenefris so thus far they are one-album wonders. But it's an amazing album and their place in metal history would be secured even if they never end up releasing anything else.
Sonic Youth - Eric's Trip
Bringing this thread back. A lot of potential with these guys. Another one of those all star bands made up of members of other bands I really enjoy.
Orbs-Kid Cancer
grenade
by: no clue
After completing Red Dead Redemption I have mainly been listening to the awesome songs featured towards the end of the game in particular:
Ashtar Command ~ Dead Mans Gun
Edit: HC, you meant Grenade by Bruno Mars?
Yeah
I swear, that song sounds just like one I wrote a few years ago, only with a finished chorus
Raekwon - New Wu (feat. Ghostface Killah and Method Man)
Nas - Surviving The Times
lately im only listening to Utada Hikaru :o
In no particular rank, this band is one of 5 favorites,
Mithras. It's heavy, and sometimes psychedelic (Soul Manifesting)...
This is from their last album, a masterpiece to some,
or just a flurry of nonsense to another. Ya 'dig?
YouTube - Mithras - To Where The Sun Never Leaves - Behind The Shadows Lie Madness
Radiohead - Lotus Flower
mm yeah this album is still total ear-candy, can't stop listening to it
"Yours to Keep" by Teddy Bears Stockholm
I also picked up the Gorillaz The Fall album so I'll probably be listening to that for the next few days.
Casey's Song - City and Colour
Not sure why, as it is just a chorus, but it really puts me in the mood to write.
YouTube - The Impossible Game-Level 1-Kid2Will-Fire Aura
Downloaded the game today and it's really hard. The smurfing songs for the levels are awesome though.
It's a cool song, but for some reason it reminds me of this. :p
Sprockets
This album is one of my favorites and I have this song in rotation again.
Yasunori Mitsuda and Millenial Fair - Creid - Xenogears soundtrack
Castlevania Symphony of the Night OST - Dance of Gold
sweet sexy god such wonderful music
YouTube - Remarc & Lewi Cifer - Cape Fear
I must say, this Jungle music is strangely relaxing to me. :p
I've forgotten about that soundtrack, I am going to download it. :D
I'm listening to Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall - Coldplay
The Downward Spiral - Nine Inch Nails
Listening to the whole album but on 'Ruiner' right now. I've found myself stuck in the industrial music genre recently but I'm not going to complain about that. This was easily Reznor's best.
Grace Jones - I'm Crying (Mother's Tears)
"Lover's tears fell from father's eyes, she was all cried out..."
Just wonderful! A lovely and vulnerable track from the queen. :D
This is Not a Game of Who Are You - 101010
The band of pretty much the best drummer on YouTube and they're a pretty cool metal outfit.
YouTube - Peter Gabriel - Sledgehammer [Live]
As far as I'm concerned, this is the only song of Peter Gabriel's that exists.
Lady Gaga - You And I
I didn't sleep at all tonight and just spent all night listening to the Born This Way album. I didn't like it at first, but I absolutely love this album now because there's so much more heart and soul put into these songs compared to her other two albums.
Katatonia-Onward Into Battle
Very chilled metal. Haven't found too many people who don't like these guys, and especially this song. It just has that quality to it.
Revolving Doors by the Gorillaz
Change :: Karnivool
The extent to which I love this band is beyond obsessive.
Mellotron Scratch - Porcupine Tree
I've been advised to listen to their pre-absentia material, but I could never be bothered to leave the confines of Spotify and go search it up. I may do so now.
If you find where to download it let me know please! I haven't been able to find it online. I have the actual CD somewhere, but I can't find it either!! :(
Also,
KMFDM - Ultra
Gotta love the gorillaz
currently listening to
YouTube - Mayhem - Eggs

>>> Some Orgy music, the "Vapor Transmission" album was pretty good..:luca:
MMM, Stephen Lynch.
YouTube - Stephen Lynch - 3 Balloons [Album Track #5]
YouTube - Ryuichi Sakamoto Trio 1996 - Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence
been spamming for ages, so good
Blut aus Nord - Epitome 02
It becomes pointless to call most black metal "atmospheric" after listening to stuff like this. Blut aus Nord always deliver and this is one of their best recordings to date. Alongside Echtra (another band that puts most "atmospheric" black metal groups to shame), Ash Borer, and Petrychor this is one of the best metal releases of the year. And, like most music, it sounds way better on vinyl. It's hard to believe they've already released two new releases in the last six months (counting the Mystical Beast of Rebellion re-release, which contains 37 minutes of new music) and have two new ones coming up in the next few months. I wish more groups had these guys' work ethic.
I'm listening to the voices in my head. They are saying "Drink alcohol".
In terms of music, I'm listening to CCR Mary Lou.
Everybody Jump by Anti-Funky. Such a messed up old house tune.
Nirvana - Lithium
First time I've ever listened to this album beyond the singles, I didn't realize it was this good!
Magnetic Man - I Need Air
Coma :: Guns n' Roses
Pretty much the only song I like off of Illusions I.
how could anyone not like November Rain, Don't Cry, or Live and Let Die
Ash Borer - Split with Fell Voices
This split was far and away one of the best metal releases of 2010 (note that the vinyl edition only came out this year; before it was only available on a super-limited cassette); both bands are among the best of the current crop of new black metal bands and both are at the peak of their powers on the track they contributed. I am currently ripping my vinyl copy, and it sounds glorious.
Eh, I just don't like both of those albums (although in a cruel twist of fate Locomotive is probably my favourite Gunners song). Granted, the songs you listed are alright, but I don't really listen to Guns and Roses for ballads, which is why I enjoy Appetite so much. I think that Chinese Democracy had a better assortment of 'ballad' songs, although I stand firm that Chinese Democracy is an album done by a completely different band that just had Axl Rose singing, nothing could sound less like old Guns n' Roses.
And every 5 posts be damned. I'm listening to;
Army of Me :: Bjork (feat Skunk Anise)
Utada Hikaru - FYI
Freezepop - Freezepop Forever
Haven't heard Freezepop in years; it's a nostalgia bomb.
Million Dead - Pornography for Cowards
Anybody who likes Frank Turner should check MD out because he was their vocalist. It's post-hardcore, as opposed to Frank's more folk oriented stuff currently, but he's consistently brilliant throughout.
@Noodle Boy, makes sense
Petrychor - Gamma Leonis
Ever since this band came out with its EP I've loved it. Tad Piecka (the sole member) has a really unique take on black metal that doesn't really sound like anything else out there; there's a lot of influence from post-rock and shoegaze, which isn't exactly uncommon in the genre, but he takes it in a completely different direction than is usually done. The EP is almost entirely in a major key, which is almost unheard of (the only other examples I can think of offhand are Drudkh's "Sunwheel" and some of Alcest's material) and the full-length album incorporates so many different influences it would be pointless to list them all. Yet he manages to pull this off without the material coming across as schizophrenic. My only complaint is that I wish he used less dynamic range compression in his mixes. Still, the album is definitely one of the highlights of this year so far and I can't wait for the vinyl release. And the guy can really play the guitar.
Tyler, the Creator - Tron Cat
The backlash I've seen for this album is a little overblown. I think it's actually pretty good, not as good as Earl Sweatshirt's album though.
Nick Drake - Place to Be
Order Restored :: The New Regime
24 by Jem: Ultraviolet - Jem - YouTube
Panopticon - ..Seeing..
One of the best American black metal bands for sure, and On the Subject of Mortality is by far the most personal and emotional Panopticon release. And it sounds even better on vinyl. Flenser Records, as usual, did a great job.
A song from the upcoming best album of 2011
Thrice - Yellow Belly
Every Rose Has Its Thorn by Poison
Various Sleeping With Sirens songs
Most recently, "With Ears to See and Eyes to Hear"
65daysofstatic :: I Swallowed Hard Like I Understood
I am listening to the Akon, I love to listen his songs.
He has great voice. In my opinion his comping album will do more business.
Fell Voices - Split with Ash Borer
These are two of the best black metal bands at this point and each side of this split is simply stellar work even by their own standards. Definitely one of the best 2010 releases and it sounds even better on vinyl. Those who like black metal and vinyl owe it to themselves to place an order for the second pressing of this record when it becomes available; I doubt it's going to stay in print forever.
Empire Ants by Gorillaz
This may be my favorite Gorillaz song.
Jóga :: Bjork
my pounding headache...
Sleepwalker - III
Solo project of the drummer from Fell Voices, one of the best black metal bands in existence at the moment; this is great in its own right. I have heard rumours that this band's two demos will be getting vinyl pressings at some point, which I am greatly looking forward to. Additionally, there is apparently new unreleased material which has been getting rave reviews from people who have actually heard it. Can't wait.
Army Air Corps Theme
Decided to listen to this song after forgetting about it for a while. I still love it.
Ludo-Good Will Hunting By Myself - YouTube
Atheist - And the Psychic Saw
To be honest, this band is one of the few things that currently makes me proud of the town where I live right now. Technical death metal at its finest; I just wish their albums were longer.
Stan Getz - First Song (For Ruth)
Liquid Tension Experiment and Gary Moore have made up my playlist this evening.
EDIT: *bump*
No idea why this thread was closed (there is absolutely no reason to close this kind of thread) and can't see a new one upon a quick search for "listening" so I've re-opened it. Longest thread in EoFF forever! :D
Something Corporate - I Woke Up In A Car [img]http://home.eyesonff.com/images/smilies/heart.gif[/img]
There's one of these exactly like 5 threads below this >_<
Well the forum search is clearly incompetent. I blame vBulletin. But for now... mergin' time! MORE posts in the thread! :mwahaha:
You know, really long threads don't load for some people. I've never figured out why but I've heard it from several different people.
Loony Bob reported. :p
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Can't Stop (Video) - YouTube
Kayo Dot - Stained Glass (Side B)
Thank gods for ClickRepair. For some reason the record got slightly damaged in transit but after applying ClickRepair to my rip you can barely tell; I've only noticed one brief part in all 30 minutes I've listened to that sounds even remotely scratched. This is an utterly eerie piece, and it's arguably even more so in its stripped-down "de-mix". I think the A-side is overall more interesting to listen to though.
Have been bouncing back and forth between Jabberloop - Red Bath and Sleep Walker - Into the Sun, which I am listening to now, over the past couple of days. Trying to decide which one is the track to end all tracks, but it is a difficult decision to make. Love both of them at any rate.
Both cases of me having them for ages but generally skipping over them because the intro never really grabbed me, but they both ended up playing through when I was busy doing other things and found myself jamming out to them so bad and wondering why it had taken me this long to get into them. Love finding songs that way.
ASMZ - 13 Angels Standing Guard 'Round the Side of Your Bed
Forgot about A Silver Mt. Zion....
Whiskey and Ritalin :: Fair to Midland
Gold Lion is such a beautiful song.
Karen O is such a beautiful woman.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Gold Lion - YouTube
Lake of Blood - Proxigean Arcanum
This band is pretty great, but nearly all their recordings are clipped so much it's almost painful to listen to the original releases (although the new album isn't as bad). Luckily an Audacity filter called Clip Fix exists. This latest album is years beyond anything they'd released previously; I've had it for maybe a month and have already listened to it like thirty times. Just two tracks totalling thirty-two minutes, but they're both gold.
Quote:
[16:37:31] <@Rantzien> ... Jeff Bridges recorded an album?
[16:37:51] <Phil|Mobile> He did.
[16:38:03] <@Rantzien> That came out of left field.
[16:40:25] <@Rantzien> Well, it's not sounding terrible so far...
[16:41:01] <@Rantzien> I just never would have thought that one day I'd be listening to The Dude singing and playing country in earnest.
[16:42:03] <@Rantzien> That Kevin Flynn would be singing "Let Me Show You What a Little Bit of Love Can Do" in my headphones.
I kind of hate Fair to Midland, especially Fables, but the first few songs on this album are pretty sweet. Whiskey and Ritalin is smurfing sick.
I haven't listened to any of their previous work, just A&A after I saw some good reviews. The first half is much better than the second, I agree.
Just relaxing this Monday morning before I workout, I like this artist. Downloaded all his albums. :greenie:
Ulrich Schnauss - Gone Forever
Alexisonfire - The Northern
Shining [Nor] - Blackjazz Deathtrance
Accurate description of this particular track's style. Blackjazz was one of the most innovative records of 2010 and sounds absolutely amazing on vinyl. I need to re-rip it now that I have a 24-bit sound card.
Enter Sandman - Jay Smith - YouTube
Alright, Jay Smith is pretty rad for being a winner of an American Idol Rip off show.
I feel so unhip.
I listened to this song 4 times in a row at max volume while speeding up from Marathon Key to Miami in the middle of the night, and suddenly my tire blew out.
I probably deserved it.
Basement jaxx - Get me off - YouTube
Waves (10th Anniversary Edition) :: Carina Round
Metric - Waves
Alkaline Trio - Back to Hell
Alcest - [Souvenirs d'un autre monde #06] Tir Nan Og
vinyl rip sounds pretty good; too bad the person that made it didn't know what they were doing and uploaded a 16-bit rip as a 24-bit one. I've done that myself though so I can't blame them too much; a lot of sound cards that can only capture 16-bit audio give information that suggests they ought to be able to capture 24-bit audio for some absurd reason. Maybe I'll order the LP and make my own rip; it's only $20 apparently.
Album rules obviously.
Utada Hikaru - blue
I'm a stunna
Flexin' - Shop Boyz - YouTube
Castlevania - Bloody Tears - YouTube
Wut a horrible night to have a curse.
Wolves in the Throne Room - [Celestial Lineage #07] Prayer of Transformation
oh gods, the flac is glorious. gods damn it, southern lord, just put up a preorder for the vinyl and take my money already
Did you realise that this thread has 747 pages?
That's cause Loony merged the two threads.
Sweet Thing change of seasons. Lyrics - YouTube
Decapitated - [The Negation #03] Lying and Weak
These guys are one of the most influential death metal bands of the last 15 years for good reason. Sucks that they've had so much crap happen to them, but their new album is a worthy comeback imo, even if a lot of people seem to hate it.
Ed Sheeran - You Need Me, I Don't Need You.
I love this song. The extended unofficial version recorded in some radio station / studio and put on YouTube is awesome.
Megaman 3 - Whistle Concert (Protoman Theme) - YouTube
Classic, beautiful, amazing, and 8-bit. I love this song.
Phoenix Wright - Pursuit ~ Cornered 2001 Cadenza Remix - YouTube
Manliest tears I've ever shed were shed listening to this. :'c
Basshunter. And IDGAF what that says about my musical taste or lack thereof.
Today I go old school.
Talking Heads "Burning Down the House" - YouTube
I saw them.......2 years ago? Maybe a year and a half. Either way, the new drummer seems to have filled in for the deceased one really well. It was a bad situation, but they had great energy live. Both mentally and musically they seem to be moving forward and working well together.
NeoCracker, I want you to DJ my life.
I don't visit this thread like I should. Mat Kearney - Undeniable
I have good taste from time to time. :p
Ed Sheeran - The A-Team
I've only heard the two songs by this guy but I love them both (I must admit I love You Need Me, I Don't Need You a lot more than this one, but I still love this one :)). I should probably listen to more of his songs sometime.
Been listening to them all day.
The Smiths - Still Ill - YouTube
Mt Eden - Still Alive (HD) - YouTube
I feel dirty listening to this.
