I'll go with Shadow Flare Enemy Skill.
The last few lines of Riddle 1 seem to describe Ultimate Weapon emerging from the Northern Crater (near where Jenova crashed) and running amok. He starts at the crater near Junon, which you can't walk over, but you can fly over, but you can only fly as high as Ultimate Weapon. Riddle 2 clearly refers to the Enemy Skill materia.
I couldn't stop thinking of marijuana, by the way.

*Glares at princeofdarknez for getting the answer using almost completely the wrong logic*
Well the first half of the riddles still there if anyone wants to solve it, I guess it's princeofluckyguessez turn :D.
-
Screw you, Mr. I'm Going to Look Up Zen on Google. I'd say that's about even. :D
Gloomy opening leads to an
Exquisite, peaceful setting.
Grander it then becomes, before
eerily descending.
No egregious hints this time.
-
*turns off the light and unsheathes sword*
(Stab in the dark)
Aeris's house? :choc: :choc:
*sheathes sword*
-
Hmmm, I don't think if you were describing a place you'd do it so obviously... though maybe I'm just suspiscious, so is it the game itself?
Gloomy opening leads to an (Midgar)
Exquisite, peaceful setting. (World Map)
Grander it then becomes, before (Travel the world, go into space, wind up on a quest to save the world)
eerily descending. (The Northern Crater)
-
[q=Lehteb] *turns off the light and unsheathes sword*
(Stab in the dark)
Aeris's house?
*sheathes sword*[/q]
Cute, but no. :) Completely off.
Phoenix: Not quite. I don't want to give too much away just yet, but I feel the word "setting" may be throwing you off - it can take on different meanings in different contexts.
-
Ok, I'm probably way off, but I'm going to give it a shot.
The Sleeping Forest?
-
Yeah, it's not right.
New hint: It's not a place. The word setting isn't terribly important, but try and think of how it could take on different meanings.
-
This isn't a real guess more a sort of 'am I aiming in a better direction?'
The Snowboard game?
Gloomy opening leads to an (either the caves or the events prior to the game)
Exquisite, peaceful setting. (the track opens up and it becomes quite relaxed and free)
Grander it then becomes, before (lot of corners, obstacles near the end etc.)
eerily descending. (the leap off the cliff at the end into nothing)
As I say, not a massively confident guess, just trying to find the right logic.
-
The place where Aeris dies? (forgot the name >_<)
-
Triple T: As I said, not a place.
Phoenix: Not quite. I guess you are applying the right kind of logic, but to the wrong kind of idea. Step back and try applying it to other different facets of the game.
Hint for the while: Would it help if I replaced peaceful setting with peacefulness? This might help you get started in the right direction.
-
Is it the opening?
Gloomy opening leads to an (gloomy music and wavering camera over stars)
Exquisite, peaceful setting. (leads to Aeris in the alley)
Grander it then becomes, before (pulls back, music peaks, title shot)
eerily descending. (camera descends to follow the train, music becomes eerier).
:smash:
-
Hmmmm.... Is it the music when Aeris dies? I won't break it line by line, but the riddle does kinda describe it. Possibly including the music just before when you fight Jenova as the first line.
-
Phoenix has found the right idea, but is still off. This hint should clinch it for you audiophiles, and that is, first letter capitalization is so key. Sometimes I can pull off sticking the answer down the side. :D
-
I knew there was something odd about how you wrote your lines! Okay I have no ideas here, and don't know musical notes (VERY clever btw), so I'll guess One-Winged-Angel, and if it's not that leave guessing for people who have a logical idea for now.
