Beastie Boys - [Paul's Boutique #15] B-Boy Bouillabaisse [12:33]
I forgot how smurfing amazing this album is on a good pair of headphones. I mean, it's amazing anyway, but adding a good pair of headphones into the mix just amplifies the experience by a factor of four. Don't I feel stupid now.

Been listening for hours to:
Opeth - Benighted
Opeth - Ending Credits
Opeth - Patterns in the Ivy
Opeth - For Absent Friends
L'Acéphale, "Perdition" - YouTube
kind of amazed this was on YouTube. This band deserves way more listeners; they're one of the most intriguing and creative black metal projects going right now. Though the title track from this album is even better, but that's not on YouTube, apparently.
Wu Tang Clan - Da Mystery of Chessboxin'
Caravan Palace - Cotton Hands
Sexy as hell.
Meshuggah -
Panopticon - [Kentucky #06] Killing the Giants as They Sleep [12:19]
Immense. This will almost certainly end up in my top ten albums of the year. It's just a shame most people won't hear this for at least another month due to the fact that it's not out in digital formats yet.
I'm listening to Slowbeef and Diabetus riff on Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub Zero.
Childish Gambino - Fire Fly
john talabot - depak ine

Dinosaur Jr. - Feel the Pain
Cypress Hill - Insane in the Brain
I like Cypress Hill.
I've been listening to a lot of Anavae (Anavae) still really liking their sound and think that the song where they use a dubstep bassline to go under the guitar work is really worth checking out for ingenuity if nothing else. This isn't a remix, it's an actual song made that way.
I've also been listening to a fair bit of The Fray's new album, pretty good stuff but my favourites by them will always be "How To Save A Life" and "All At Once" from the How To Save A Life album.
Gustav Mahler - [Das Lied von der Erde #06] VI. Der abschied [29:24]
Now i am listening shakira Hip Dont Lie.
The Celestials :: The Smashing Pumpkins
One Direction - "One Thing"
Metallica - [Death Magnetic #07] The Unforgiven III [7:46]
Out of curiosity I gave the CD mix a listen on YouTube. I had to turn it off after about ten seconds. Thank god for the Guitar Hero III version.

I'm very into this song right now. Deep Time - Clouds - YouTube
Also Fiona Apple's new album. All of it. So much love. Favourite track: Fiona Apple - Daredevil Lyrics - YouTube
Picked up a copy of the new Linkin Park album "Living Things" and am currently having my first listen through it...
Musically it's reminding me strongly of Hybrid Theory and Meteora days which is a massively good thing, Hybrid Theory even 12 years on is an amazing piece of work! The dance beats flowing in from Mr Hann are heavier, much more A Thousand Suns than Hybrid Theory but that's ok because the guitar work is cascading in crashing waves of raw power on some of the shoutier songs. Shouty, yes that's a word you could use to describe some of the songs... In fact it's a very welcome sound to hear Chester Bennington screaming like he's going to smurfing rip your mother smurfing face off with nothing but his vocal chords!
There's some songs where he's on par with Faint for the screams if not more so "Victimized" for example opens with a screaming chorus from Chester with a drum beat what could literally blow your mind (and I mean Rob Bourdon smashing trout outta that drum kit not some sampled beats) A single verse delivered at full spread from Shinoda in the middle before the chorus plays out in what could be the shortest song I've heard them perform ever at under 2 minutes.
I know a lot of people have felt recently that Linkin Park have forgotten about the fans and their albums haven't been up to the par they started on. If I was a former fan who'd become disenchanted with the band I'm honest when I say, give this a damn good listen to because it seriously seems to be checking some of the boxes Linkin Park haven't for the fans.
Outside of listening to the rock music I've not gotten round to I've actually had a really random desire to listen to a crap load of country it's disturbing almost but I'm finding myself listening to Jace Everett, Garth Brooks, Johnny Cash, Carrie Underwood, Leanne Rhymes, Willie Nelson to name but a few :)
LOUDER THAN SIRENS
LOUDER THAN BELLS
SWEETER THAN HEAVEN

Sinnerman (Felix Da Housecats Heavenly House Mix)

Anna von Hausswolff's latest album, Ceremony. I'm only partway through it, but it's hauntingly beautiful already.
Play - "To Live and To Die For"
The Smashing Pumpkins - [Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness #B4] Here Is No Why [3:51]
I sometimes think I'm a pretty good vinyl ripper. Then I listen to the work of someone like pbthal and I'm put back in my place. Goddamn I'm not sure if anyone could top this.
"Kimi no Shinwa" by AKINO with bless4
Où Va La Vie :: IAM
Love me some French hip-hop.
Iron Savior! Love me some German Power Metal.

Been really into these guys the last few months. Great video of them performing on the radio.
Doomtree - Full Performance (Live on KEXP) - YouTube
I've been listening to a lot of Best Coast lately. Her voice and the sound of the music epitimizes the surf pop sound for me and I love it.
Best Coast - Our Deal
Champion - Panty and Stocking OST
Gamma Ray - Rebellion In Dreamland
Another German band but they seem to supply some of my favourite bands past the 80s.
Tom Lehrer - Alma.
I love this man.
Nick Drake - Which Will
I was going through some OSTs and the comments for this one are hilarious!
Final Fantasy VIII - Force Your Way
low vs diamond - heart attack

Decapitated - [Winds of Creation #05] The Eye of Horus [5:26]
I wish there was an actual quality version of this song beside on last.fm but this will have to do. Perhaps one of my favorite songs ever.

Meat Loaf - Paradise By The Dashboard Light [1977] - YouTube
Beach House - Myth (on YouTube)
Got to see them live two weeks ago. They were awesome.
Hail Bop - Django Django
Sleep - Jerusalem (Pt. 1)
Sleep is awesome. The best way to hear that material is Southern Lord's Dopesmoker 2LP, though.
Dordeduh - [Dar de Duh #06] Zuh [13:46]
Solid album, don't get what all the bitching's about. Sounds like Negura Bunget? No trout; it's two thirds of the classic lineup, including the main songwriter. What exactly were you expecting?
This is one of the few times I was able to restrain myself from listening to an album leak before my copy came in. Of course the fact that it only leaked a few days before I got my copy probably helped.
Refused - New Noise
Eminem - My Name Is
I'd forgotten how hilarious his early stuff was. Excellent.
Periphery :: Ragnarok
Wintersun - Sons of Winter and Stars, the first track off their new album.
Underworld - I Will Kiss - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1jPRQOkuWw

greatest song of all time
"Eottaesseulkka" - PSY feat. Lena Park (PSY has music other than Gangnam Style, GASP!)
Yeah, I'm a Korean pop fan, but I'm not one of the rabid ones. -_-
Soul Vibration by J walk - YouTube
I love this song. It's just 'coolness' given a form.
Periphery - Erised
Cass Daley - Together (1954) - YouTube
She always brigthens my day!
Reks "25th Hour" (Prod. By DJ Premier) OFFICIAL VIDEO - YouTube
Love Reks, he's nasty as hell.
Pink Floyd - Speak to Me / Breathe
Remains my favorite PF song. I have the stereotypical memory of listening to Dark Side with my friends whilst getting stoned. So cliche but such powerful feelings from the past :greenie:
Well right now I am just listening to
Neutral Milk Hotel - In The Aeroplane Over The Sea
It took me a long time to really love this album but it gets regular listenings from me anymore. The lyrics are so evocative and innocent. Just wonderful.
E.S. Posthumus - Mosane
It makes me feel gracefully epic, whether I'm reading, writing, or driving... even Facebooking. :raichu:
City and Colour- The Girl (Music Video) - YouTube
i love dallas.
Black Sabbath - [Paranoid #05] Electric Funeral [4:51]
Birdy - The District Sleeps Alone Tonight
The (International) Noise Conspiracy - Capitalism Stole My Virginity
Great lyrics. Catchy music. Great band.
Elbow - First Steps (Olympics/Full Version) - YouTube
Love this. So uplifting and inspiring for a TV theme.
(but then again the BBC always does the best TV themes!)
Florence + The Machine - Ceremonials
She is lovely. One of my favorite artists in recent years.
social distortion - sex, love and rock n roll - highway 101
Devin Townsend Project - [Stuff That Was Stuff Before It Was Finished Stuff #05] Numbered (demo) [4:38]
Can't beat the version with Anneke on vocals, but still an interesting listen. Nearly everything Devin touches is worth listening to.
Mael Mordha - Cluain Tarbh
Vikings have their own genre of metal... so do the Celts and they're far more badass!
Also, it has tin whistles and an epic intro!
brand new
Kendrick Lamar - Swimming Pools (Drank)
it's been on repeat for a while. The production plus his voice is hypnotizing.
I missed this earlier but recently I was turned towards Dopesmoker on the grounds that it was epic. I listened to 30 minutes of it and was supremely disappointed at its plodding repetition. Should I have waited it out?
Grizzly Bear - Veckatimest. Such a weird smurfing album but there are some tracks I adore. Everyone owes it to themselves to watch the video for Two Weeks.
edit: Redpill - been hearing a lot of hype about Kendrick Lamar. Is it must-listen? I've been a little burned out on hip hop lately aside from some of Lupe's older stuff. I could use a fresh face in my collection.
I dunno, you sort of have to be in the right frame of mind for it. If you're not, you're not, but the point is to create a sort of almost manic trance through repetition. It's quite likely that many people will need chemical aids to appreciate it fully :monster:
Richard Gibbs - [Battlestar Galactica 2003 #25] Good Night [2:43]
One of the only recent Rappers I enjoy.
Ain't Got No Watch - YouTube
Hell, one of the only ones for that matter. :p
MC Lars - 21 Concepts
brian eno - ambient 1: music for airports
I don't know what I think of Kendrick overall, really. I listen to some of his songs and I'm like "damn, trout is tight" and some of the other songs I'm like "meh". Give "Swimming Pools (Drank)" and "Cut You Off (To Grow Closer)" a listen. Those are my two favorites from what I've heard.Quote:

As for the thread topic,
Avicii - Sunshine
trout has been stuck in my head for a while so I just gave in and played it at full blast through my headphones.
The Brink of Time Track 5 - Chrono Corridor - YouTube
I love the Chrono Trigger arranged album. I always wondered why there was a hearty delicious breakfast on the cover of the album, though.

Metric - Satellite Mind
Poetic Death - Dear Maiden [Official Music Video] - YouTube
I've been watching Chad's videos since his early YouTube days when he made a lot of videos about atheism. He's made a ton of music in recent years, and it's opened me to accepting rap more and more.
Rap is much more likable once you get out of the mainstream.
Enslaved - [Axioma Ethica Odini #06] Giants [6:37]
One of the best and most consistent metal bands on the planet.
Heartbeat - Scouting For Girls.
I don't know what this music is called but this is exactly what I like. :jess:
Elzhi - It Ain't Hard To Tell (Official Video) - YouTube
Kinda a play off the Nas song It Ain't Hard To Tell from illMATIC.
I've been listening to a lot of Korean music lately, curse you Psy with your gangnam style. An artist I've been listening to a lot lately is Hyuna (she has a cameo in Psy's Gangnam style video) not only is she a good singer but she's cute too, lol. Hyuna =^_^= <3 Here are a few ...

Marillion - [Marbles CD1 #01] The Invisible Man [13:38]

Stars - Your Ex-Lover Is Dead
Stone Temple Pilots :: Big Empty
Death Cab for Cutie - Transatlanticism - Title and Registration
Ne Obliviscaris - Forget Not
If you like metal and you like Yasunori Mitsuda, then this might be a new band for you. They're great at creating ambience and atmosphere.
That band is amazing. Portal of I is one of the best albums this year.
Between the Buried and Me - [The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues #01] Specular Reflection [11:21]
So is the new btbam. It's almost sacrilege to listen to it without this EP before it though.
"If We Hold On Together" - Keali'i Reichel
It's a cover of that song from The Land Before Time. Found it on accident while searching for the Diana Ross one on Spotify. :X
I have a soft spot for pop ballads.

Hikaru Utada - Eternally
http://youtube.com/watch?v=qsWl1--Niyg
Artist: 4Minute
Album:
Song: Volume Up
Rating: 9.5/10
Thoughts: love the saxophone and the big build up to the chorus plus hyunA is in it. Also love the costume choices. Great M/V ;)
Converge - No Heroes - YouTube
One of my favorite groups. Makes even some of the heaviest bands sound like boy bands.
Lissie - Ship Song - YouTube
Bloody brilliant song.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=gy13NPM4rMs
Artist: 4Minute
Album:
Rating: 8/10
Song: Ready Go
Thoughts: thought the choreography was good and the song is very catchy. Kind of a throw back to 90's pop music but with a little bit of rock and metal mixed in. Loved it.
Eluveitie - A Rose For Epona
Still pops in my head occasionally.
