The final should be a good game. Here's hoping Italy can pull it off.
Ahahahahahaha.
Good one france, I don't expect them to beat italy though.
Well. I sure didn't thunk it at the beginning xD But awesome. I am very happy! It was my dream to see Henry lift the World Cup because I thought he deserved it and IT MIGHT ACTUALLY COME TRUE! Now, just to steamroller the Italians. :)
Dan, Dan. There's nothing wrong with having a head shaped like ET!

No wonder everyone hates Portugal, all they do is dive and complain when their dives aren't given. If their's one team thats ruined this World Cup the most, it's the Portugal team. They're pathetic.
Hopefully we will see a great Final with a Italy win.
I didn't watch 1998.Quote:

Poor Ricardo, spare a thought for him, sublime keeping throughout the tournament, saving from three English penalties and only conceeding one goal prior to the match.
I agree with Marcel. Ronaldo couldn't care less what the crowd thought and didn't let their jeers get to him. Played his game and had a good first half.
Couldn't care less for the third placed match. Everyone seems to be disliking Portugal so for that reason I'd like/prefer to see them get the last victory. Not that I have anything against the Germans.

yeh, i wanted to see portugal get through, but they couldnt finish any of the many chances they had... and to see france get through on such a dubious penalty makes it worse. now i dont know who to support in the final (i think ill go with "the blue", over "the blue").
For smurfs sake, chill out. Will getting angry make anything better/change anything. Its POINTLESS.

They only won from dives, kicking and cheating in the first place but it all backfired against France, the poor little whingebags got their asses slammed with steel spiked club. I want either team to win the final. Revenge is done Ronaldo is unlikely to be back at Man U, who isn't happy?
Stop deluding yourself. They won the penalties, they went through and England didn't. It's really kinda sad that you can't accept it.
I can accept we didn't win on penaltys, but i'm stating the fact that after 90 mins it was 0-0, meaning the result will go down as a draw. Don't see it as sad that i'm stating a fact.
The record books count for crap sometimes - though all that Portugal v England game told you is that neither side could find a way past each other for 120 minutes and it was a none too inspiring game anyway - they'd probably still be trying to score now if penalties hadn't been around. On that count, it's probably just as well both are out as neither ever turned on the style much in the World Cup.
I loved how everytime C.Ronaldo got a touch of the ball he got booed. Personally, I'm glad that Portugal are out and France are through. I'm supporting France for the win now -- considering they play better. http://img226.imageshack.us/img226/7710/18zo1.gif
Guest appearance from Jess.
What, she's gonna join in the fun/arguement?
I'm with Dan on this. Although it's gutting that we lost the match, the fact of the matter is that we did lose and we can't change that. I agree that Portugal are dirty divers, and try to manipulate the ref, but we still lost fair and square in the penalties. It's sad but true -- we're awful at penalties! :jess:Quote:

Is that hard to understand?
It's easier to understand that you're still bitter. :p[q=Old Manus]Let's stop dissing France and get back to laughing at Portugal and Cristiano Ronaldo.[/q]We have a job to do! LET'S GO PEOPLE C RONALDO SUX LOL

Congratulations Neel Hates Clout's Guts, for being the person who posted the 1000th post in this thread! :p
Yeah Yeah France played so well that if it wasn't that goal we'd go to the penaltis! For Chris they odn't play nothing. Thiery Henry was a dessapointment to me, I thougth he'd score but he didn't do nothing. Portuguese were a bit sleeping, but still we had more ball possession and more oportunities to score!
Now I really hope Italy win France 5-0, oh I'd be the happiest woman... well 1-0 it'd be good still, but you know total humilition wouldn't be bad too!
Portugal lose but we're leaving the 2nd place with our heads high, knowing we proved that when we want we can go really far!

France didn't play that good yesterday,in fact if Portugese players were more careful they would score.Barthez is very old,i wonder why Domenec insists on him, when he has Coupet?Barthez almost gave Postugal a goal at the foul ofRonaldo, but Figo missed the header.Anyway i was against Germany,so i really don;t have any problem if Italy or France win at the final.
I can't see Ronaldo leaving Man Utd unless the Glazers can get many a pretty penny for him - something above Ģ30m would be expected considering he has four years left on his contract, has repeatedly dismissed all (unproved) claims that he wants to leave (of course, the media hardly ever publicise the fact that he says that him leaving MU is rubbish, because that woudl make them look stupid) and also the fact that he's young, highly rated throughout the world and undoubtedly talented. It would make more sense to give him Ģ10m to stay than to take less than Ģ30m to see him go. People should get over these things, although I imagine it won't happen extremely soon - maybe when Ronaldo starts scoring goals for MU again then the fans will be more receptive, but we'll have to wait and see.
I still think the whole thing is just being blown out of proportion by the media, though. If Henry had yelled at a ref after Sol Campbell got away with just a free kick after landing on Zidane's genitals, nobody would care. Blame the ref for the red card.
I mean, I admit that Ronaldo is a bit of a twat/wanker, but to say he ruined England's WC is nothing more than creating a scapegoat in him for the fact that England, quite frankly, sucked in comparison to certain other teams, and couldn't manage to defeat a single top-rated side in the tournament. 1-0 over Ecuador and a draw against Sweden are hardly world-beating side scorelines. I love Rooney to bits but he's not the be-all and end-all and I think Portugal would have won anyway.
I can't see C.Ronaldo leaving too.He is one of the best players of Manchester United, and i'm sure that the coach and the owners of the club won't let him leave that easily because the fans said so.If he is planning to leave, which is very difficult,i don't see him going to Real but Chelsea.Quote:

If France played the way they did, they won't stand a chance in the finals. I'm not sure if they were just protecting their goal, but Zidane and Henry were virtually non-existant in the second half. Not to mention Barthez looked EXTREMELY shakey. Saha also won't be playing, and he's their one of their key substitutes.
Also, I'm not sure if this is me being biased, but that game was nowhere nearly as good as the Italy/Germany game. What a game. *swoons*
I swear if I see Cronaldo's name one more time I'll hurl. :( You guys're giving him way too much importance, and he doesn't deserve your attention! Nor the time you people take to type out an insult at him; time is money, why waste it on him? :p Let it go wffgiyf2!!
I don't think France will play that way in the finals. It was more of a get-one-goal-and-hold-on-to-it game. They were much more attacking against Brazil, and that's what I hope to see from them versus Italy. Nothing would give me more pleasure than seeing a few goals thumped past Buffon. :) Barthez did look shaky, though -- it bothers me, but it seemed to please Coupet. I hope he gets his act together.
Personally I can't see France beating Italy unless they really pull out something special. The Italian defence is incredibly difficult to break down, and I don't think France have quite enough attacking strength to manage it. At the same time, the shaky French defence will have to stand up to a much improved Italian strikeforce, something which I very much doubt they'll do.
Also, I just want to say that after Scolari's tantrum following yesterday's semi, I'm glad he's not the new England manager. The guy lost fair and square, and the first thing he does is go and moan at the officials. Plus, his tactics were pretty sucky anyway, so meh.
Furthermore, I stand by my earlier Henry-is-the-greatest-guy-ever statement. I don't need to justify myself to a man who doesn't think E.T. is adorable. :p
E.T is a Paedophile, and since when do people find them adorable?
Rooney and Ronaldo back at training together.
I would say this is over exaggerating, but then i'd be lying and you'd all know it.

Doesn't matter what you think about the situation, this is quality!
The finals presents quite an interesting challenge. On the one hand, Italy's defense has been unreal. The only goal they've given up was an own goal to the US. (Sidenote: Should Italy win, I'm not buying the argument that the US was one of the best teams at the WC because they tied Italy. It was a great result, but seriously blown out of context in the scheme of things here). Buffon has been nothing short of spectacular and the way they won the game against Germany was inspiring. You could tell the Germans were playing for PK's, where they're undefeated, while Italy pressed to win the game and wouldn't you know it, they did. Italy does flop a bit too much for my liking, but that's the nature of the beast and they play together very well as a unit. A win would also be a nice respite to the scandals that have rocked the Italian leagues.
On the other you have France, who continue to press on despite some very up and down play. Told they were too old, and that they couldn't mesh, they came out early and played very uninspired and barely qualified out of the group play. However, somehow, somewhere, Zidane has returned to look like the player that can single-handedly win a WC and he in my opinion is the wild card. If Zidane plays like he did against Brazil or even the first half against Portugal, before France began to play back and not attack, I think France has a shot, a legit shot. Zidane is that rare talent that controls the flow of the game and as was witnessed both in 98 and in this WC, he can will the French to victory.
I look for a close contest with plenty of fouls, which is one of the major storylines of this World Cup and in the end, somehow, someway, I see Zidane riding off into the sunset leading his team and his country to one final victory. Italy will be very tough, but if Henry, Ribary and the rest of the midfield can keep it together, I do think Zidane can lead them one more time. If Italy finds a way to bottle Zizou however, Italy will win this in a walk. Still, much like the Mavs had the superior team in the NBA Finals, the Heat with the single best player in Wade, won. So too, do I think will fall in this game, with Zidane. A great way to end a great career, I think.
In the third place game, I think Germany wins it IF Klose and Ballack can play. I've read both are hurt and might not be able to suit up, Klose especially, but if they do, I think Germany wins it.
Take care all.
So many Arsenal extremists, I'm afraid I'll be ripped apart if I cheer for Italy.
Oh yeah?

I'm glad Portugal lost the way they did. All they do is dive and complain and bitch. As a defensive player, I know how annoying it is when people dive. (I get a second yellow yesterday for "elbowing someone in the eye" while my hands are behind my back, and two seconds later he gets up fine.) Yeah that was a weak penalty called by larrionda. It WAS a trip though and Henry went down easy. Now Portugal knows how it feels. Then later you see Ronaldo and Pauletta just flopping in the box. When Miguel got injured, no one cared that he was hurt, they were yelling at the ref for a foul. This is probably the worst dive by ronaldo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fu9PW...naldo%2Ecom%2F my friend stilll thinks that it is a penalty and Portugal got jipped, which they didnt because they had golden oppurtinies and they didnt score. Screw those divers.
GO GERMANY
GO France
I was originally rooting for USA because i was born and raised here but I'm 75% French so I'm allowed to go nuts if they win. (The other 25% is Canadian, but Canada sucks)

I'm not going to get into club stuff because this thread and topic has nothing to do with clubs. So, speaking of the international game...
Denying that England fans have, over many years, earned themselves the worst reputation in football fan terms is silly. To say that all other nations have perfect fans would also be silly, though. All major footballing nations have their troublemakers.

And what about Fernando Meira?
That's the most pathetic Ultimate Squad ever. It's all semifinalists with a couple of quarterfinalists thrown in so people won't bitch about how it's just semifinalists.
Henry!? Wtf? The guy probably set the all-time record of offsides in a single WC, he was sleeping in half of his games! And where is Cech? He was so good that the Ghanian (sp) players were afraid of him!
So have FIFA picked a manager of the tournament?
I'm surprised Fernando Torres isn't there either
Yeah, that's a sucky ultimate squad. It's probably based on the same stats system that gave Frank Lampard more points than Steven Gerrard throughout the tournament. In fact, I'm surprised Frank's not in it, considering how bad these things usually are. :p
Anyway, as far as tonight's match goes, I'm hoping for a German goal-riot of some sort. They're deserve third place much more than Portugal.
>>> lol, C. Ronaldo show us one of his graceful dives again..
Too bad the ref didnt buy it..
Bloodyhell. You would of thought Ronaldo would learnt his lesson by now. But no, he's still an idiotic diver. He's pathetic.
I give him a 10 for the dive and 10 for the ref not falling for it.
Well at least it gives us something to talk about from that abysmal first half of this utterly pointless game.
And this vilification of Ronaldo has long gone part the absurd, he's no worse then a lot of players at this World Cup, he's not the Cheating Bogeyman for god's sake. People would not be picking on him especially now if he hadn't tangled with Messiah Rooney himself.
>>> I like C. Ronaldo. In the first half he did some pretty neat move, but it ended in a pass for Klose..

Yes he would because he hasn't stopped doing it. It has increase since the Rooney bit, but that just shows everyone knows what he's like now. It's his own fault.Quote:

HAHA 3-0, Portugal OWNED big style
I have a good appreciation for Germany all of a sudden.
Portugal are getting their ass handed to them. This is what happens when the ref doesn't give their dives and sees their wrongs. Germany, you are heroes for slaughtering Portugal. Make it 4-0! If we had the ref from this game or the ref from Portugal's last game things could of turned out different and it could of been England in this match. I'm glad the Man U board are almost forcing Fergie to sell Ronaldo. He's too much hassle and still he a di verm you'd have thought he'd have learned by now. Germany are kicking ass, now cut off their heads. (not literally)
To be honest Portugal havn't approached this game with much enthusiasm anyway, and Germany want to finish off on a high note as hosts and all. And Man Utd would be bloody stupid to sell one of their best players (too much hassle? you're kidding right) if they want to challenge Chelsea next season.
And I don't believe this, STILL people saying things like the referee were to blame for England losing... (he was clearly responsible for those dismal penalties after all!) - get over yourselves! Besides that referee from England's game is doing the final tomorrow.
>>> Portugal scores! and English fans dont like that!.. :p
The board are forcing fergie to sell Ronaldo, there will be too much chaos if a sort fewd between him and Rooney starts and then England fans's hatred towards Ronaldo wouldn't do too well for the club's reputation man. Pretty stupid and childish to do it but it's gonna happen, and before the WC Ronaldo stated he wants to join real madrid. Oh god no Portugal scored.Quote:

What a lovely game. :D Those two goals from Schweinsteiger (JESUS CHRIST I SPELT THAT RIGHT...!!) were amazing. Seriously beautiful strikes, both of them, and so well placed. :D Ah, they made me happy.
A great game for Oliver Kahn, too. He made some spectacular saves, and he needn't be ashamed of letting that one in, because it was a great cross from Figo and a great header from Nuno in. I wish Figo had gotten a goal -- he's one Portugese player I really, really, really like. A bit of a sad international ending for him.
Also gotta admire Cronnie's persistance and determination; kept going at it till the very end, shooting at goal and going forwards.
Only one more game. :(
3-1 well it could have been worse...
If Scolari was such a Pauleta fan and had he given Nuno Guomes a chance and putted Figo early on...things might have been different.
I find it interesting that even the French and German fans have booed C. Ronaldo, showing that it isn't just the English who think what he did was wrong. If FIFA refuse to punish divers and cheats, then it's good to see the fans taking things into their own hands.
Good game, Germany deserved to win after putting on an impressive tournament, and performing admirably too. It was good to see Kahn and Figo performing well in their last hurrah. No more Kahn, no more Figo, no more Zidane, no more Roberto Carlos, probably no more Ronaldo or Beckham...it really is the end of an era.
Well yeah I admit any one trying to challenge Chelsea at the moment is like pissing in the wind, but you get the idea :DQuote:

What the heck is wrong with Martin O'Neill? He said Portugal haven't played the last two major tournaments without a striker.
Hard luck on Portugal who did well in my estimations to get to the semis, Germany hosted a good tournament and deserved to get something out of it.
Why is everyone being so hostile on Cristiano Ronaldo? I'm sure most of these speculations is down to the Rooney getting sent off, but surely stepping on someone's groin is worse than what he did
I don't understand why English fans "hate" Ronaldo right now! What Rooney did was wrong, and Ronaldo just tried to defend his own team! Rooney was very offensive and he did deserve the red card! Well i'm not saying that Ronaldo is the best character(he did some bad stuff during the Olympics in Athens) but this attitude towards him.. I find it a little unfair..
Anyway i hope France will get the cup and Zidane will retire from football like a real winner! ^_^
As I said, it's not just the English fans, because French and German fans booed him too.Quote:

Pro-Ronaldo: He was just trying to defend his team-mates, and what Rooney did was wrong, diving and simulation are a natural part of the game and everyone does it - even the English (Gerrard v Hungary or Owen v Argentina in WC2002, anyone? And that's to say nothing of Joe Cole...)
There, that saves us all the bother of dragging this back up again.
If you don't understand why many englishmen hate C. Ronaldo, you don't understand the average english football supporter =P
But yeah, great game, and I'm very glad Germany won it; they deserved it for their excellent performance this world cup. Shame they didn't go all the way to the finals, but they still went out with style. Now France needs to beat Italy, and everything will be excellent!
SCHWEINSTEIGER FTMFW
What I think is that Italy used a cheatcode to beat Germany, didn't you see the manager tapping on the dpad? Still it was good to see Portugal get their ass kicked again.
We didnīt got our ass kicked...we still scored itīs no shame to lose to the home country team especially a team like Germany.
Personally i want to see Italy won because of their dark past...
Germany just played the game sexy, those goals were amazing, Schweinsteiger was on fire man, look for burn marks on the pitch, his boots, socks, and I'll think you'll see I'm right. Or look at the ball or nets. Italy ftw.
the first goal was a mistake by Ricardo!
It's nice to see that the tradition of a high-scoring third place playoff has continued, even if it didn't really get going until the second half. A couple of great goals for Schweinsteiger were the perfect way to round of Germany's tournament.
I'm looking forward to a great final, although hopefully not so great that Croyles' horde of Italian and French players score tons of points and overtake me in the fantasy football league. Unfortunately, that's looking like a lot to ask for. All the same, it should be the perfect game to round off a summer of great football. Just think, this time tomorrow it'll all be over...:(
I was on a long long long long journey in a car and listened to the game on the radio, then managed to watch the last 10 minutes on Telly. I knew Schweinsteiger would get his tribute! Great way to finish the tournament Deutschland! Shame I didnt have any flags while I was in the car! Ive already taken off my Germany signature + Avatar too!

I'm lovin' it
Italy better win, I dont want France to have the satisfaction of winning.
Zidane,,,what a complete idiot! Any respect he had, he's just lost for me, what a total moron, why do you have to do something that blantantly stupid in your last game in the world cup final.
IDIOT!, i really hope Italy win now, France deserve to lose after that.
But it's not the fault of the rest of the French squad though surely that Zidane decided to do something that stupid. And boy was that stupid...
So now we have Italy, who are crap at penalties, against France, who have no Zidane, Henry or Vieira to take any - can't wait for this shootout if it happens XD
I don't know what happened with Zidane but apparently no one likes Italy anymore. I don't understand why Zidane did what he did and I think that was prettyty.
I'm simply astounded that the crowd boos Italy everytime they touch the ball now. I can only imagine the scene that could arise when Italy hoists the trophy only to be booed and shat on by everyone in the stadium.
Yeah, this will be a crappy PK shootout. France has nothing, Italy has nothing. It may well be Italy simply because their goalkeeper is better.
He headbutted one of the Italian players - after a lot of arguing he was finally sent off. It was the right decision though, was moment of madness from Zidane.Quote:

It doesn't make sense.
In any case, Zidane can thank himself for his team bowing out in the Finals rather ungracefully. Trezeguet too, for that matter. Congrats to Italy for hanging in there despite being fatigued as hell. Once again, they show us that flashy playmakers are secondary, and all that matters is your back four.
USA FTW 2010
YES! THEY DID IT! TAKE THAT FROGS! BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME BABY!
yeah it was a pretty intense match but Zidane was provoked and it was a dazzling headbutt, high quality.
Zidane is a bull now apparently. You see how far the other guy went?
Did anyone else think that was a crappy finish to a spectacular match?
It's kind of sad to lose the WC and be undeafeated. Ahwell. 2nd place is still pretty nice given that everyone thought Spain would kick us out, and after our complete failure in 2002.
And Zidane is a dumbass.
Red Cards normally do that...Quote:

I've lost all my respect for Zidane ... what a retarded way to leave ones team in their most dire hour of need.
What was going through Zidane's head? He was the best player on the pitch, and it was his last game of competitive football ever, why go and ruin it with a moment of stupidity like that? For such a magnificent player, maybe the best of his generation, to leave the world stage in such a fashion is a terrible shame, and I hope it's not how he's remembered.
Well done to Italy for overcoming the pressure and taking an excellent set of penalties. Much as I would've liked Daniele De Rossi to slip over the ball and fall on his arse like a toddler, each and every one of them got the job done when it mattered, and that has to be acknowledged. They weren't the best team on the day, and barely left their own half of the field after half-time. Nor were they the best team in the tournament, having faced fairly weak opposition up until Germany in the semis. But that's one of the things that's so great about football; that the best team doesn't always win. So congratulations to Italy (and, for that matter, Doomie), and lets hope a few of those World Cup winners come to the Premiership next season.

FIFA World Cup 2006 will forever be remembered for the 'Zidane Headbutt'.

Back to watching the Premiership now.
Yay !!! :D
GOGO ITALY !! :D
And for good 'ol Italia to win on penalty shots!?! Geez i almost fainted when Grosso downed France :D
Zinedine Zidane, you utter legend. Fantastic. Criticise him all you want, he went out with quite a bang.
Italy started off brightly, but it was a shame that they deflated, really. It wasn't a bad game, but it wasn't an excellent one either.
I still can't believe our old Diarra played in a World Cup final. Christ, he was terrible in the reserves.
PS: Who called it? Who called Italy winning, right in the first post of this thread?
Granted, whatever happened -- it was a class headbutt and Figo's had nothing on it.
Bah. I don't think Italy deserved to win it on account of their offence; their defence, however, seemed impregnable. France played some real beautiful football in both the second half and extra time until the red card -- their domination of the ball especially in the midfield area was class.
Penalties were well taken -- Trezeguet missing, huh. What was he trying to do? A Zidane?! But note how Buffon didn't make a single save. :( So much for that, buffoon.
It was a really tragic end for someone who was perhaps the most hyped up player before match. Henry didn't magic anything up tonight either, which probably explains why he was substituted. I still thought it was pretty silly move by Domenech, though.
But Malouda, smurf, what a game. Whatever happened to France tonight, they've certainly discovered a few things that might help them in the future :p Ribery and Malouda and more? And it was pretty good, considering people had written them off in the first round. It showed true grit, and congrats Italians. :p
Cristiano Ronaldo will probably get off the hook (well everywhere apart from England). Zizi muffed up a classic finish to his career, disgraceful. I kinda switched sides after that little incident and supported Italy in the shoot-out. I'm happy for the tifosi since they've seen so many tournaments end up in an upsetting way.
I think Thuram and Cannavaro were the outstanding players on the field. I also thought De Rossi shouldn't have even been allowed on the field after his violent group stage antics
In a word, WOW.
I'm still at a complete loss for what Zidane did. I cannot think of a worse decision to have been made, in OT, when they were outplaying Italy no less, and then, he loses it completely and for many will completely tarnish what was a glorious run and a spectacular career. Sure, it's the heat of the moment and one can act on impulses, but as the Captain of the team, as it's leader, best player, and possibly best player of his generation, Zidane lost it. It would be the equivelent of a Derek Jeter or Tom Brady losing their cool in the World Series or Super Bowl, and once he got sent off, France really had little chance. The missed PK was killer sure, but losing Zidane, and Henry sealed their fate.
Bravo to Italy, especially to it's defense, and goalkeeper Buffon. The save he made on Zidane in the first OT was nothing short of immaculate. Bravo to Italy for winning in the face of all the turmoil back home, bravo to Italy for finally getting the monkey off their backs and winning a PK.
What's so bizarre is that they seemed like the lesser team, especially late in the second half and OT, as France seemed to continue to press the issue, but they bent and didn't break. In the end, they were the team that was able to keep it together, keep their cool, and win.
This match will be talked about for a long time, mostly about Zidane's mindless act, but it should also be remembered as a great victory for Italy.
Take care all.
Footballing legend or not, he's a moron.Quote:

OMG, I never thought Italy would win it after France's performance in the second half + extra time.
Mostly though, im 1.5 points short of being number 1 in fantasy football!! Unfortunetly I decided to select Totti as captain in the last minute instead of Buffon!! Otherwise I would have been ahead by 3.5 points!!!!!!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!
So Germany win in Italy, and Italy win in Germany!

Sayonara Zidane!!! That was really stupid for a captian of a world class team to due, whatever the Itallian guy said. It's no excuse to loose your cool and headbutt the guy in the chest. Zidane, I hope you enjoyed your last match of your career, because that was inexcusable.
Anyway, congrats [strike]USA[/strike] Italy. A well deserved victory! GO [strike]ITALY[/strike] USA IN 2010!!!
NOOOOOOOOOO!!! The best team lost, and Italy won because of a fluke: Trézéguet's penalty ball rebounding off the post. I cannot congratulate the winners; they are completely undeserving.
And now for some faultless logic:
- Italy are World Champions.
- France held them for 120 minutes in the final, and lost on penalties, ergo they are second best in the world.
- USA held Italy for 90 minutes, but everyone knows they are crap so this fact can be classed as a statistical abberation and can be safely discarded.
- Australia held Italy for 93 mins and 45 seconds, and only lost becuase of a dubious penalty, but Australia lost to Brazil earlier in the tournament.
- The above are the three best performances against Italy at the World Cup.
Therefore, we can establish without a shadow of a doubt that the top four teams in the World are...
1. Italy
2. France
3. Brazil
4. Australia.
...
...
...
:D
When Italy scored the last one penalti, I was so happy I even started clapping! It was a good world cup... pity that Zidane showed what he was only at the end of the match... even if the italian said something horrible to him, it should be truth otherwise he wouldn't be so upset... so congratulations to Italy and to the other teams who made this world cup!

On the other side, you never ever see Zidane at all screaming for penalty or cards or anything, even after falling in the most wild tackle. The only bad thing Zidane did was that headbutt, but that doesn't disqualify the entire French effort. The fact of the matter is that France was dominating the game from the second half and onwards, so they deserved the win.
As for Brasil, they may have had the most talented players, but was certainly not the most talented TEAM this time. They were a huge dissapointment, and played mediocre most matches.
