Chickens were freakin' everywhere as you drove down the roads, and at that particular temple there were a lot of cats, dogs, chickens, pigeons, doves, turtles and fish because all animals are well cared for at said temples. I'm not sure if they're sacred and unable to be killed for food, but I wouldn't be surprised if this is the case (I know they said that about the fish, not sure about the chickens). It probably was exaggerated at the very-much-loved King of Thailand loving chickens, therefore a lot of ornamental roosters can be found around statues of him.Quote:
