When Hollow Bastian was taken over, Cid, Squall, Aerith and Yuffie flew to the refuge world of Traverse Town. Because Squall was not able to do anything to save his home, he felt ashamed and went by a different name, so Leon wasn't attached to his old home, like Squall was...
