Dissidia's divided into stages, each taking place on its own checkerboard-like map.

You'll move your character around like a pawn, picking up equipment and potions on the map and fighting whenever you stop adjacent to an enemy pawn.

To move around on the map you'll need DP, or "Destiny Points".

You earn more DP by defeating non-boss enemies, and the more DP you have at the end of a stage, the more bonus stuff you'll get.

The boss of the stage is usually on the other side of the map, and what's worse, your energy isn't refilled after a battle, so grabbing items on the map is important.

A side note about the non-boss enemies, Duckroll from NeoGAF pointed out that they are Imitation versions of other characters. For example a screenshot in the latest scans show the Warrior of Light next to an enemy pawn that says lvl2 Imitation Kuja.

ok, there are 2 conditions for making me want to kill myself. 1 if aeris is in it, and 2 if they use that thing for squall. im glad the vid had the sweet squall *exhales a sigh of relief*

Garland seems to be the Bowser of Dissidia, he's powerful and slow (or so it seems).

I'm really looking forward to this game!

Still hoping there will be some FFXII stuff in it :love:

I really like Garland's weapon and how it transforms. He seems more like Nightmare where he appears slow but once he starts moving he gets some nasty combos and causes uber damage.

I am now curious to see how Kefka fights...

Maybe he could have a bag o' tricks, from which he can hurl everything from self-help booklets to the sand off his boots?

Perhaps the mighty rapier wit will be the only weapon he needs? Why waste effort on a cutting blade when you could strike just as deep with a cutting remark?

I can see it working on Cloud, Squall, and Cecil in DK mode.

Kefka gives cutting remark, enemy proceeds to cut themselves out of emo-ness. :p

I'm pretty sure Kefka had a weapon in VI... it was a flail or something.

He'll most likely be a mage like Kuja, Cloud of Darkness and Ultemacia. He should be at least; considering how important magic is to his game.

Personally, I think he should do magic tricks involving pencils... :)

Yea, but I mean that he actually had a weapon in the game he originated in, ulinke Kuja, CoD, and Ultemecia, so they'll probably have him have the flail or whatever. But I can't imgaine Kefka not being closer to mage than fighter.
