We head back to North Window. Viktor expresses his distrust of Shu. Shu tells him that if he doesn't trust him, he can leave. He says if Viktor doesn't listen to him, he will be viewed as an obstacle to be removed. Viktor tells Apple that he can see why Shu was banished.

One of Solon Jhee's allies advices him to take caution, but he says there's no need because all that's behind them are the open fields of South Window. His other ally, Seed, is hungering for a battle because the mayor of South Window didn't put up a fight.

So my second until goes up and hits Solon Jhee and knock out... one of his little men. BUT it is enough for the Highland soldiers to start freaking out about an ambush.

So all of the South Window troops turn on Highland. The gist of the battle is: Seed is a beast who massacres two of my units single handedly. Flik is a beast on our side, who takes out most of their units. Seed and Flik engage in a battle and are pretty evenly matched. Eventually Solon Jhee retreats.

So I agree to be the leader. Everyone supports me. I find it very amusing how supportive Flik is in this game because for a good chunk of the first game, he's not really in support of the hero. It's just amusing to see the change.

When the story is over, we find Nanami asleep, so we head to bed.

When we awake in the morning, I return to Shu and accept leadership officially. I get to name the castle Toran, which is named after the HQ in the first game, so luckily that isn't the real case or that would probably confuse some kids in Suiko geography class.

Afterwards, Huan, the doctor, arrives to lend us a hand. Tuta is relieved to see him well.

He tells me I need to bring him to Two River City. Shu asks if this is an official request from Two River City and he says it isn't, he's acting of his own accord.

Now, I thought you had to get Tai Ho for this, but apple suggests Amada. Doesn't matter, I'm going to go recruit them both anyways! If you don't care for recruiting, I would recommend going for Amada because it's easier, but you get two recruits with Tai Ho, so its up to you.

Afterwards, we chase Chaco around until he leads us to an underground passage with enemies such as Land Sharks and a lot of treasure. I get in to a boss fight with a giant rat (I mean giant) but I stupidly forgot to screencap it. Basically, picture a giant purple rat with big eyes. It was a tough fight, not gonna lie, but we emerged victorious. We exit the secret passage and end up in the kobold section of town.

Ridley intercepts us and asks what we're doing.

Many years ago when playing this game (it was probably close to 10 years ago by now), after being told the directions to Lakewest ("head west on the water to the town with WEST in its name"), I got in the boat and promptly headed due east. Ten minutes later, I was confused and wondering wtf was wrong and where the smurf was Lakewest.

I'm not someone who easily gets left/right, east/west mixed up in real life, but for some reason in video games simple directions can baffle me.

Today is a big recruiting day.

First, as we are heading back to the castle, we make ourselves nice and toasty by using Fried Tacos, available at the Kobold section of Two River. They only have a 30% chance of making you toasty, however, so it might take a while, as it did for me.

Then we stop by this mans house on our way back to our boat.

When that's done, we head back to find out the location of the green bell. When we first walk in, Tengaar is sitting at the table, but she sees us and rushes off to bed. Then we get told the green bell is in the sewers of Two River. So off we go!
