That is like the perfect shade of green. But it's...green! :)
Well, I would have done blue, but too many people have mixed feelings about it. Have any other suggestions?
Hell, I may even use this as my layout if it doesn't make it.
Two problems I saw with that one:
Not blue...which you already addressed.
No actual mention of the name of the site through banners or anything. Just the advertisement. Maybe in that image you had at the top put the logo in or something.
No, I like the green. It's would just be so different. I'd like to see it with the banner.

I really like both of those colour schemes, especially the blue/gray. Don't know if they would go for EoFF, but I like them. I also like the simple and uncluttered layout.
I cant do html but i can design banners and such if the new site needs them or someone putting an entrie(sp?) needs some done. If my voice counts for anythng none of the entries really look as good as the current site. No offense or anything.
That's because the current layout kicks a mountain of ass the size of the Death Star.
