I can summarize this thread in four easy steps.
Some of you hate/dislike/whatever America, so you'll use this as an excuse to spout anti-American propaganda about how we don't do anything and cry a lot.
Some of you are apathetic and sad, so you'll make funny jokes.
Some of you care too much and want to show the world how much you care, so you say something sappy.
Some of you are pretty cool, see the event and the memorials for what they are, and go about your business.
I talked about how fast time moves when you grow up with my friend, and I ate at Bojangles.

An excellent book, the Skeptics Dictionary. It says pretty much all I have to say on these number games. I am not about to type out the whole section, just the most relevant part, but essentially it amounts to confirmation bias (counting the hits, ignoring the misses).Quote:
