Mafia IX: Ace Edition Game Over - Mafia Victory - Town of Failure Destroyed

I'm reading through this right now but I wanted to post and let you know I'm here!

I'm also angry. I don't spend my posts complaining about working, I start them by letting you know where I've been, and I think I've been somewhat helpful so far, even if it isn't a huge contribution. The last thing I did was tell you all not to vote Godot and he ended up dead. As a cop.

Now I've spent the last two days moving into a new place and thought I'd be able to check the internet more. Well, I was wrong. I come back and we've got a faith healer AND a cop dead? Great, we've got a hole to get out of, let's start looking for a rope. /grumpy

Sorry, I understand you need to be here to play, but this (move) was something I didn't anticipate would take as much time, so I'm here and ready to sift through things. I'll post another analysis once I finish sifting through these last four pages.

Care to explain a bit more why you took your vote off me Bikini? After all there's quite a few people that want me dead. And just a minute ago it looked like I was to be the one to die today. A sudden vote hop looks mighty strange without an explanation.

Ok, so you all are doing a great job of analyzing everything, but I'd like to reitterate that which has already been brought up:

WILL/EMA 50/50 MAFIA KILL CHANCE! (Probably)

Seriously. Other than being a jerk, Edge and Klavio don't warrant enough attention to be drawing away from the previous two, at least that's what I think. I think Trucy and Pheonix are also something to look into, but we have two people claiming the same role and we have already lost a doctor, 2 cops and a faith healer. I don't think 2 roleblockers are possible at this point and I don't think that can be overlooked. I'm taking notes on some of you others, sure, but I really think we need to hear from both Ema and Will today.

Also, Lek, if you're around, can we get another vote count?

Yeah both Will and Ema have been kind of gone since yesterday. I would like to hear from them before we kill one of em. You know mainly so they can defend themselves against all the numerous accusations brought up against them.

I don't think there's a 50/50 chance because of the following possibilities:

1) Two roleblockers
2) Naive roleblocker
3) Lyncher/lynchee

Maybe you can say there might not be two roleblockers, but when you think about it, if two is the maximum kill count, three kills have been stopped somehow.

I don't really want to place a vote with regards to all of that until Emma and Will answer the question I asked them both.

I unvoted you because up until now I've only found people who annoy me suspicious, which you did when you turned around and pulled a Plum. :p

Though after I though about that, I looked over and had no real reason to find you suspicious.

Emma, however, turned out and claimed Roleblocker, and it turns out the Cop found the other one Innocent already.

And as I said, I dont' think the Godfather would try to pull that stunt since he has no way of knowing who was investigated when that happened.

Meaning my suspicsion is on Emma for her Roleclaim.

The only reason I have to NOT find Emma suspicious is the fact that Will was so hesitant to answer questions, but that's even a minor thing. He was probably just up from the computer. Emma is more suspicious because she was so quick to jump on Will like that.

You know, for a lot of people suspecting Will more so of the 2 "Role Blockers", no one sure is voting for him. :shifty:

Either the arguments I brought on Ema were that persuasive (doubtful) or I completely missed something in my deducing.

In either case Phoenix and Fran (sigh why are all the sexy girls so evil and suspicious :() both swapped votes from Will to Ema.

Can I ask you both why?

I don't get why Will (if he was mafia) would do something like that to get Plum lynched, or why Emma (if she was mafia) would do something like that to get Will lynched. Either way, it's really not worth it.

So yeah that's why I don't see this as a black-and-white one is scum and the other is not issue.

The way I see it, if Will were mafia doing it, he would be trying to prove he was the role blocker and thus make it appear as if he were a confirmed townie. However the big fault in that plan would namely be it being a risk, and the fact that the mafia thus far haven't had to do it. Why do a risk when you already have a perfect victory ahead of you?

As far as Ema doing it, it could be mafia trying to get the role blocker and prove a mafia as a role blocker and thus confirmed townie in one fell swoop.

Although the Lyncher/Lynchee is starting to sound a bit more plausible. I'm still just nervous with how the voting has been going thus far. I just can't help but get this feeling in the back of my head that the mafia are just sitting back on this one again.

The Will thing is pretty much what I thought, although I do think there are better roles to confirm yourself with.

As for Emma, if she got Will lynched, it wouldn't prove her as a roleblocker - it would prove her as mafia for getting the real roleblocker lynched, because we'd see how Will flips. But honestly, why sacrifice yourself to take out the roleblocker? A cop, a doctor, sure, that could be worth it, but not a roleblocker of all things. Especially when roleblockers aren't likely to be protected at night. If you're that desperate for one to be killed, you could always wait until then.

For lyncher/lynchee...If I remember correctly, it's the lyncher's job to try and get the lynchee lynched, no matter what. The lynchee is supposed to prevent their own lynching.

Someone else can explain if I'm wrong, but I'll try and look it up.

To Edgey~ I found Ema and Will to be equally suspicious. I decided to trust Lam's results and changed my vote to Ema. Also I didn't like how she said a couple of things about me being inactive, it hurt my feelings!

I was wrong. The Lynchee has no idea that they're the lynchee, but if the lyncher is killed before they have the chance to get the lynchee killed, he loses. If he gets the lynchee killed before his death, he wins. The lyncher has no alignment but the lynchee is pro-town.

This is plausible because Emma was totally rough on Will, and Will showed up as being innocent when investigated by Lamiroir.

What I think is going on:
She called out the same roll he did because she knew he was under scrutiny already, and it was the perfect opportunity to get people to vote to lynch him. If she called roleblocker too, because she wasn't as suspicious as he is, everyone would immediately turn to Will with questions. As soon as everyone began to fire questions, she quietly slipped away, and hasn't been back since. Will has, I believe.

It's just too obvious to me, now that I think about it.

Emma has constantly been urging us to vote Will. Just thought I'd add that to my "What I think" section.

Has Will been back?

That's the only thing I'm not quite sure of, but the rest of that actually makes a good bit of sense. When do we have to vote by?

For some reason, I can't vote until someone is clearly in the lead in and will definitely be lynched. Theoretically, it's extremely easy for me to vote, only my timing has been off. The days have usually ended before I get a chance to check in and see if someone is leading in the votes. It's no fault of the judges, they've even given me helpful 'pings' to tell me to check the thread, but a lot of the time I'm not around.

As for my personal thoughts. Generally, Will and Ema are both equally suspicious. However, if Gumshoe actually is a Hider, I think Will might have actually targetted Gumshoe when he was 'hiding' behind Jean. And with Lamiroir's innocent verdict of him, he could very well be the Godfather. For that reason, Will is more suspicious to me. Or Gumshoe, for the possible fabrication of his story as a mafia trying to get a townie killed. But I think if he was Mafia trying to get Will lynched...more people (his Mafia allies) would have supported Gumshoe's story.

This is my problem. There are certain roleclaims that are good for mafia, Certain ones that aren't.

Will's would be. He can be wrong, but if Plum turns out to be a SK then the town trusts him. Or if the mafia has a Janitor, Framer, or anything like that, then the mafia is still in control. Will's expression as "investigate me" also made me weary. Unfortunately our Cop fell for it.

Ema's doesn't because it throws her in a 50/50 chance. The mafia HAS to use a Janitor to save her. Why sacrifice yourself for a roleblocker? Better yet, since the Cop hadn't yet claimed, why claim as a roleblocker? Why not just claim as a cop or a tracker? Thats what I would've done.

If Ema was mafia, that claim makes no sense to make, they gain NOTHING.

Hi I am back now. The Home-run Derby was fun. Someone got 11 in the first round and then 7 more in the second:D

also, the color commonly used for town roles is this one, which is lime green.

then again...it doesn't look bright enough...=\ but when I did "bright green" it came up like this, which isn't even green at all.

Ema Skye was dealing with things her own way, but the stress was getting to her. She decided to go for a relaxing swim in the hotel pool. All alone, she let the cool water wash over her. She closed her eyes. She could hear footsteps. Probably some other suspect or something. Whatever. With so many dead and none of them guilty, she was beginning to believe the suspects would simply never figure out who was responsible until it was too late.

With that, Ema felt a strong jolt of electricity shoot through her body. Someone had thrown a giant toaster into the pool with her! It looked like someone was finally on her trail. "For the greater good!" she gurgled from under water as she lose consciousness.

[M] Ema Skye was a Prostitute played by oddler! Holy crap you guys got one!

Night 5 begins now. The sooner we get everyone's night actions, the sooner we can continue.

Tensions were high between Franziska and Edgeworth. As prosecutors, they were both affected by the three-day trial rule (remember, the reason people are revolting and killing each other and stuff? Check the first page), but they were on opposite sides of the issue. "This system doesn't allow enough time to closely examine all of the facts!" Miles yelled angrily. "Innocent people are being put in jail while the guilty are allowed to walk free!"

"Hah! You fool! This system is a challenge to even the greatest lawyers! Only the best win! As my father's mentee, you should appreciate that more than anyone!"

"The court system isn't supposed to be used as a venue for competition! Accuracy is what's important! Truth! Justice!"

That was the last straw from Franziska. She whipped him once. Then twice. Then again and again until she had whipped him into a fine paste. Then she was crushed by an anvil that fell from the sky or something.

Okay, I'm yet ANOTHER replacement for this guy. I promise, I'm way more active than the other two, so you'll be hearing a lot more out of me.

Now that we've got the introduction out of the way, time to get down to serious business.

So the good news is we finally got a mafia. The bad news is that we lost two more townies. If there are two mafias, the town is screwed, if there is only one, well, things don't look much better. If there's a SK on the loose they're not helping themselves by missing mafia. The playing field is so small now that any slip up might make you my prime suspect. So let's get talking, shall we?

Phoenix, that was kind of a random accusation. Aren't we a bit too far into this game for random accusations? I don't like the cut of your jib, sailor.

Yesterday I was suspecting Ema, Gant, Furio, and Plum. Trucy's vote at the end of the day smells a little suspicious. But that's only if you consider that she actually knew the vote wasn't tied and that Ema had a lead. If that were true then Trucy was voting inconspicuously for her own teammate. Or that's a bunch of .

My gut treated me well yesterday. I went with Ema, she turned up Prostitute. However, if we are to believe that Ema really blocked Plum that night there were no kills (Night 3, I believe, but I could be wrong) and Will also blocked Plum, and we can guess that either Dick was hiding and was targeted or Jean's Faith Healing worked and protected whoever the supposed victim was, then that might explain the lack of kills on that Night. So I'm inclined to vote Plum. However, I have some questions!

Will Powers, our claimed roleblocker: who did you block Nights 4 and 5?

Dick Gumshoe, our hide and seek champ: the way you've been explaining the Hider role differs from that in the Mafia flash. The flash claims that if you're targeted while hiding, no one dies. If the person you're hiding behind is targeted, both of you die. This makes me less inclined to believe you, but I understand that the Mods could change the role. I don't know how much to trust you.

PS: Dammit, me "showing up" whenever someone mentions my name keeps happening and I don't intend it to! Stop posting about me as I'm reading through the thread and writing posts! >:O

Now that Will is our roleblocker, the fact that Plum was blocked and there weren't kills is very important. Like previously stated, there is killing potential there, and people have already had suspicions. I didn't think much of Plum until this point, but it may be too blaring to ignore.

Between Furio and Gant, my gut picks up scum from Furio before Gant, but nothign conclusive. Yet.

Well, unless the newcomer for Gant can somehow defend himself from previous actions he didn't do, I'm voting for him.

Gant has been extremely suspicious up until now, and yet there is now way he can defend himself from any actions that I can think of.

This leads me to vote for him, which I admit is not fair to the newcomer, but I am way to nervous to allow something that can't be defended to just slip on by me.

How many scum are left, do you think? It has to be less than or equal to 6, or else we've lost already. I'm thinking there are probably 3 or 4 left, though that's just a guess. 4 Mafia (total, including Ema) and one SK for this game?

I think we're probably close to the end here, unless we can band together and pick off scum every day. However, we have to take out the other nightkill role first if we want to win.

Lynching one Mafia member will not reduce the number of nightkills. Lynching the SK (if that's what it is) will do so. Will blocked Plum two nights in a row. I'd think it very likely that Ema blocked Will the second night, after his roleclaim, and there were two kills that night. I'm thinking fairly certainly that Plum is the Serial Killer (or something). Anyone have any comments on this? I'm voting Plum now.

@Bikini: No hard feelings...I've been following this game VERY closely, so I know all that's gone on. I can see why you would find this character suspicious. I can't justify what the other two people have done, because I totally disagreed with most of what they did, and they were jerks to boot.

Plum is at the top of my list, because she only comes out when we call her out. I'm not sure what to think of Will, because that investigation that found him to be innocent could have been the investigation of a godfather. I don't have much against him at all, so I can't say much more than that.

Apollo strikes me as odd right now too, because he comes and goes without much of a word, and though he contributes a lot, his inactivity without explanation (unless I'm remembering wrong) raises my brow. My bushy, white brow. But, anyway.

Trucy Wright...a little bit, but not too much.

Day 2: Came in, apologizing because he's a replacement and the previous player hadn't posted at all. Called out both Hotti and Godot, both of which ended up being power roles, though one of which being insane.

Reason:He's annoying, a bad player, etc. No good reason.

Seems very knowledgeable in the plans of this game's mafia. Remained "suspicious" only of Hotti and Godot for the first half. Asked what everyone thought of Will, but didn't say what he thinks, nor did he give a reason as to why he wished to know. "Suspicious" of Luke, who also ended up as town. Said he'd be HAPPY for Luke or Hotti to be lynched.

First off Gant, thats a straight out lie! I wasn't even here for the first day, and have been really busy, yet I'm still in the top five posters.

What worries me the most is that there were hardly any mentions of Ema by anyone as I was going through the thread. You all let her slip under the radar and well, now you know the result. And now that she's finally been caught it makes analysis hard.

I think Furio could be a possible scumbuddy of Ema's. I am willing to think that Maya is not on Ema's team for the time being. Dick mentioned Ema a little bit when pressed to by Jean but soon forgot her. I don't know what to make of Ema's attacks on Phoenix and Damon when she knew her days must be numbered; I wish the pair of you had said something about her before the roleblocker thing tbh. Valant mentioned Ema in passing when listing suspects because they had voted for Godot which isn't anything at all to me. I don't think Trucy and Bikini said anything about her until the roleblocker thing.

If I am wrong and you did say something substantial about her, okay, I've had to look through a lot of pages and people have been calling her Ema and Emma, so I concede I could have missed something, so feel free to correct me.

Anyways, I have to say, Plum's lack of self-defense is really starting to get to me. I'm not, I don't care I that don't have a role.

If your not blowing a hissy fit, then give us your opinions on everyone thus far. Even its the only thing Vanilla's can do to protect themselves, and even if it doesn't save themselves, it can help the town realize something they missed.

I think that there is good reason to go against Plum, solidified by the fact that by the time Ema started accusing her when there was a very strong possibility of her death. Or she could have been one step ahead of us and set us up to kill a townie.

I understand it can be hard to play a vanilla, but you have to make the most of it. Can you put any defense together for yourself? I'm not sure when I'll next make it back, but if you can convince me you're not scum I'll take my vote away.

Can you really risk voting a town person right now? We're down to nothing literally. If we were to assume that there were six mafia members originally and we've gotton rid of one That would make it five mafia members left. If there are no third parties then there are six of us. If you vote me off a town member there will be 4 townies and 5mafia members due to the night vote. Then we more or less auto lose. Hi everyone. I blocked wesley because he was fairly inactive and I thought maybe a mafia member may be trying to lay low, as many other games they have. I was wrong about plum so that probably means there is a bulletproof here, unless we have yet another doctor or Both the mafia and the serial killer(I am fairly certain it is this set-up) both targeted a person who jean protected and the mods decided to make 1 protection count for both. Or maybe ema lied when she said that she blocked Plum on night 3 and blocked the serial killer while jean's protection worked. I don't know.

Sorry for the bit of inactivity peoples. I was swamped with final exams. Plus, I got distracted by MSN and a phone call about a kid who likes to stick his thumb up his butt while he urinates. But that's besides the point.

More on topic...I am a bit more comfortable with assuming Will is the role blocker now and that he's innocent since Ema was revealed guilty, two role blockers with different alliances makes sense, and he was revealed innocent on Lam's list. He is now off my suspect list for now.

Jean was of course confirmed innocent, Will is probably innocent and Apollo is questionably innocent.

Since we learned that this distancing attempt was actually an attempt to attack townies I am more inclined to believe that Ema's neutral stance on Furio is much more telling that Furio may be Ema's fellow scum buddy.

Since I don't want another repeat of the shenanigans that went on yesterday (i.e. omg let's speed lynch someone, omg lemme not defend myself cuz I am townie, omg omg suicide. -_-) I will refrain from voting right now until I think about this a little more and analyze a few other people's post. Something I would also like to comment on is that usually it is the mafia holding us up and so are online when the thread is re-opened. I only checked for the last three days but Phoenix Wright was first poster on two days, Damon was first on the other.

Also stop piling votes onto Furio you lunatics. Don't you realise how close to the end of the game we are? If the scum win by lynching a townie and Furio is town, they can pile votes onto him and get him speed lynched and it'll be game over. Plenty of time to vote for him later if you still feel like it. Just hang back and think about it first.

That's a pretty post, Klavier! Though I think I shifted votes almost every day I was here, actually. I'm pretty sure I switched from Will to Ema the day she died.

How close is he to getting lynched?

Firstly BIG FINGER OF SHAME for Maya, Trucy and Valant for having so many nones.

Who is mostly involved with the lynch? I would say Damon, Will, Furio, Bikini and Ema all usually (not always though) were on the person who got lynched.

Who mostly shies away from it? Phoenix, Apollo, Dick and I guess I have to include myself in there.

I think there are four mafia members and a serial killer left, so town would be at half strength if it lynched another townie, and with the night kill it would be game over.

Mind you it is not in the serial killer's interests to vote him off because he loses if the mafia get half of the town. Whoever you are, you seriously need to take out a mafia member tonight. You've been a bit of an idiot by killing town to be honest.

If it's a vig and we lynch town today, take a shot. You've got to and you've got to hit mafia or else we lose.

Actually I just realised. If we're in lylo (lynch or lose) we can all start claiming now. This is a last resort tactic for towns which suck balls so oh well let's rock.

I'm a doctor. I have protected myself every night. I personally would have protected Lamimoir on the day she claimed cop if I was in control of this account then. Unforrtunately I was not, and I cannot answer why my predecessor did not protect her. Naturally I have protected myself because I have not seen a more important role than doctor claim since coming into control of this account.

Yes, I appreciate that Godot was a doctor too and Jean was a Faith Healer. Because of this, I believe myself to be either naive or weak, but I have no proof either way.

We know they had a prostitute, it's also likely there's a godfather lurking out there somewhere. I'd guess they have another power role but I could not speculate as to what it is. And they are backed up by a serial killer of course. Presumably a serial killer would be night kill immune and maybe the mafia targetted them, which could explain the low kill count on certain nights. As I said earlier, whoever you are, find mafia, kill mafia, or else you will lose with us.

Alternatively there could have been two teams of three, each with a godfather and another role. If so, you guys need to start killing each other rather than us.

Although there could be a vigilante I suppose. I'd guess they took a shot at Dick (if he is telling the truth) and Miles but I don't know.

I am Vanilla Townie. I know this character looks mighty suspicious because of past events, and I apologize. I was actually surprised when I checked the role pm and found him to be vanilla :p because I suspected him too...but I was proven wrong.

Since Valant made a post...even though I find it kinda silly he disappeared right after...I took my vote off, as promised. Another person I'm looking at? Trucy Wright, who hasn't posted in a VERY long time.

He is a magician after all...Trucy, too :p

In regards to being one of the first to post in the day: there's always going to be a "first poster of the day". I am a VERY active player, because I have no life.

Looking at my vote tally thing, I think Maya comes off as pretty dodgy. The green and cyan voting days were the most crucial, I feel, as that was when Ema came out of hiding. Maya is the only person not to have voted on either day. I know Ema said something about her earlier but it could have been distancing.
