Not only that, but there's this video as well.
Screw that noise! Id take mewtwo over pichu without skipping a beat!!
......though id say kirby is by far the worst character :p
This thread is about Brawl. I really hope this debate over who was the worst character in Melee doesn't go on for long.
3 of the 4 videos are the same thing, but the Gametrailers one is the best quality (and easily downloadable).
-When Mario is recovering he does a mid-air jump, then his Side+B and then an Up+B. Could you do this before? I was never that hardcore into Smash since I didn't have anyone to play with.
-I didn't realize Lucas was so small! He's the same height as the Ice Climbers.
-In the match with Sonic (P1) Samus (P2) Fox (P3) and Kirby (P4), I can't quite figure out what the hell happens when stuff starts exploding all of a sudden. An item suddenly drops and Sonic falls on it, but I can't make it out. It didn't look like the old mine.
-Squirtle should have more resistance to freezing attacks.
-Destructible Fire Emblem and Metal Gear stages! And the size of some of the stages is pretty impressive. The Metal Gear one with Link vs Snake is a good example, as it looks like you can go Up quite a bit and perhaps off to the sides a little once the walls break.
-I really like the forcefield that's in the Sandbag mode.
Dojo has been upstaged by the internets once again. Won't be too long before someone blows open the game.
That explosion you saw was Star Fox 64's Smart Bomb. There was an update on the site for it, I think.
Though, why should Squirtle have more resistance to freezing attacks? If he's a Water Type, and his water freezes, wouldn't he be doomed? :p
Not according to Pokemon type matchups. Squirtle is fire and frost resistant, but lightning vulnerable. Ivysaur would be weak to fire and ice. And Charizard is vulnerable to lightning. It would be interesting to see how much type matchups come into play.
JKTrix, yes, you can double jump then side-B then up-B. Doing the up-B move is what keeps you from making any more moves until you either land or get hit. As long as it's last, it doesn't matter.
Pokemon trainer looks cooler and cooler! His FS is the bomb "Its super effective"
I read somewhere that the stamina idea for PT isnt quite as hindering as implied. Meaning you can actually "main" one of the pokemon so i totally call dibs on ivysaur (thats right NONE of you are allowed to use him ever! Unless you earn the right by beating me online ;) )
And lucas's attacks look sooo fluid. I also love the scene shown for subspace where mario, link, yoshi, kirby i think and somone else are all standing together as if they are ready to take on some wicked threat.
All in all the game looks better and better...keep the leaks on coming lol :greenie:
(SPOILER)Mewtwo pawns kirby, pich and bowser *runs away*
It looks like they powered Lucas's PK Thunder to himself, and made PK Freeze a lot faster than PK Flash, so hopefully he can compete. Ness was fairly lack-luster in Melee because of things like that.
As for the Dojo site, it appears that Japan has a different 'net battle test' video than the other regions, featuring Snake, Ike, Kirby and Mario. In it, Kirby's Final Smash is used in mid-air. If you haven't seen his FS in action he pulls out a pot that proceeds to Vacuum everyone in, stirrs 'em around then launches them outwards (and upwards) from the pot. Now with this happening in mid-air, and the 'vacuum' part being seemingly unavoidable, it looks like all a Kirby player has to do when he gets the FS is to float up as high as he can to the top of the stage and use it. He'll suck everyone in, stir 'em around, then launch them in an upwards direction--and automatically off the stage for a KO if he's close enough to the top.
In the video, it appears he wasn't close enough to the top for it to be effective, as one of the 3 folks were able to recover instead of being launched off the stage.
Still, that could be a really potent FS with Kirby's floating ability.
Also, Announcer says "Time Up" in the Japan game/video, and just "Time" in the US one.
Very different update~ ... darn it... I want wireless broadband T_T
edit: *;]*
The Masterpieces thing looks nice for people who've never played the original games so that they can get a feel for what they were like from a demo. Admittedly, all it's making me want to do is play Lylat Wars again.
grrr...for some reason that video won't play for me...won't load properly or something -_- but yeah, the masterpieces look pretty good...
Vol4 of Iwata Asks: Smash Bros Edition is up. It appears that there will be more volumes of this, since it says 'To be continued' at the bottom. (Mario Galaxy's feature had 4 volumes)
The interesting tidbit this time around is that Sakurai was working with Kazushige Nojima on the story scenarios. I didn't know who that was, but I certainly do now.
A bunch of translated info from Famitsu is up on Brawl Central as well.
Wow. So Adventure Mode WILL have a good story.
Lovely :3
