Beatrix's theme (IX) is also one of my favorites.
i love the necron fight music from FF9. I just got it for Stepmania (DDR computer simulator thingy) and it rocks. Im not sure, but i think some parts of it are remixed versions of boss fights from FF4, which would be totally awesome.
It's hard to pick just a few. Since I mostly have the more recent soundtracks and have played the newer FF's more often I've been liking those soundtracks the best. A few of my favs are: The Oath, Eyes on Me, 1000 Words, Suteki da Ne, Love Grows, Find Your Way (Piano Version), Liberi Fatali, and many of the Ending Themes are awesome! Seriously, I just love all the music in general... I think my roomie gets sick of hearing them played constantly!
Favorite Song:
The Place I'll Return to Someday - Final Fantasy 9
(its the opening music in the main menu)
the calm before the storm (kilika forest) and the ending theme it makes me cry :crying:
NO! YOU SHALL NEVER MAKE ME CHOOSE!!!!!!
Although i can say my favourite OST is VIII
I'd have to say, from X: Ending Theme, To Zanarkand, Auron's Theme and People Of The Far North. From VII: World Theme and Aerith's Theme. Also, (don't know if it counts), "The Skies Above", by the Black Mages. Awesome.
Basically anything written by Nobuo Uematsu, Masashi Hamauzu, Hitoshi Sakimoto, or Masaharu Iwata. There are mediocre songs in every FF, but I always get a general feeling from each of the games b/c each has a distinct musical flavor, and thus it's hard to distinguish one song from another, in order to "rank" them. BUT: The opening theme to FFT is SPECTACULAR, I spent 6 months when I first got the game, during which I had to sleep with that song looping over and over, or I couldn't sleep at all. Neurotic? Check. I also love the Prelude, especially FFVI's prelude. I also especially favor any song that easily translates to 2-handed piano, which includes most themes(Terra, Rydia, Aeris) and stuff like Setuki Da Ne(FFX) and Breezy(FFVIII) and Interrupted by Fireworks(FFVII)
It's really really sad to think: FFXI is the last FF that included Nobuo Uematsu's work. ;_; Not that Hamauzu or any of the other composers suck or anything(I can't find any information on who's taking over, although I know Sakimoto's working on XII), but Uematsu is as much Final Fantasy as Amano and Nomaru and Sakaguchi. I'm just a nostolgia junky i suppose. It's just hard to imagine they can follow genius with genius.
Never fear! Uematsu has done all the music for Advent Children, and at least made one piece for FFXII. And, although he is no longer officially with SE, there's nothing that precludes his participation on future FF projects.Quote:
