Is it the Mog House game in the Golden Saucer?
I'm guessing its something mythological. But there's a lot of referenced mythology in this game.
Murasame?
its neither ^^
The only thing I can think of is the Turtle Paradise #2 in the Shinra building, but I don't know how it ties in with the second line.
Thats incorrect sorry :/
hintthis really is a big hintok you asked for itDo you really think I'm gunna give another hint THAT soon lol :p
It's probably been guessed but im going to say the condor at fort condor?
fraid not.
Is it Vincent's final limit break, Chaos?
Only two chances do you have to see me - Once in FF7...
The origin of such is found in antiquity - And once in FFI.
Only to be seen never to be held - You can't control Chaos.
Do not try to find me iv been expelled - Not sure. He was defeated in FFI?
Good guess but no Cigar, your thoughts of the second line are good, it does refer to a few previous Final Fantasy installment's.
Oh and I thought I would dispel the thought that the iv in the riddle is relevant, because I'm blond (and because my spellchecker didn't flag it) I didn't know it was meant to be I've. ^^
Properly written riddle, KaiserDragon (if this is the way you meant).
Only two chances do you have to see me
The origin of such is found in antiquity
Only to be seen never to be held
Do not try to find me I've been expelled
----
Hint: Line two refers to a past FF installment.
Is it Cloud? I have really no idea about how it goes besides there was Cloud character in one of the previous Final Fantasy's
The ribbon!!!
...I know it's not right, but I'm at a complete loss.
omg someone posted! thought I had killed the thread lol, unfortunately Ribbon is incorrect, infact its not a person or an item or a monster, that should limit down what the answer could be ^^
Uh, it is a name of a limit break?
nope ^^
kalm?
Midgar?
JENOVA's little room in the Mt. Nibel reactor?
Not a place either.
Edit: I would recommend you guys focus on the third line, its pivotal to the answer.
Is it the Lifestream?
Not a monster, person, item, or place... The only things I can think of then are concepts, stats, or constructions.
Yeah, it it's just a process of elimination now....
Its none of those things.
Not:
A Person
A Monster
A Place
An Item
A Concept
Stats
A Construction
Is:
Something that can be found in previous installments of the series.
Something that can only be seen twice.
Re-post:
Only two chances do you have to see me
The origin of such is found in antiquity
Only to be seen never to be held
Do not try to find me I've been expelled
The White Chocobo?
nope.
Is the answer a living thing? As in does it have a consciousness?
lol I commented on that to someone who knows the answer today and he agreed, no it is not something alive and it does not have a consciousness.
im gonna guess some random pole in the middle of nowhere...
Maybe the answer is more abstract....
ya see this quote here... I never said its not a limit break, even though it isn't (a limit break), try thinking along these lines...
I honestly don't know how I can give you any more hints without telling you what the answer is... I wasn't being coy when I said THIS was a good guess.
Okay, it is equivalent to a limit break. So the question is, for anyone really, which game is the answer a limit break? I know that KaiserDragon may not answer that - because that would likely to be a very big hint....
For some odd reason, I have to ask this KaiserDragon, two chances to see it - does that refer to the previous games, solely FF7, or this game and previous game?
Its not a limit break, at all. Its not usable by a character and the 2 chances to see it is in FFVII all the other games the answer has been in it can be seen an infinite amount of times.
So your looking for something that can ONLY be seen twice in FFVII but in all the other Final Fantasy's its been in it can be seen an infinite amount of times. Obviously the answer is not a limit break cause then there would be an infinite amount of times it could be seen.
So in short: your party has no access to this answer except to see it, it can only be seen twice at 2 completely different points in the game.
It can be seen an infinite amount of times on any other game the answer is in.
That's nice, because I was just clearing up that 'two chances to see' especially when you mentioned that the answer was also in previous games.
I wanna say ultima so bad now seeing as she was the one who always shot lasers from the sky....but you can see "satilitte beam" however many times you want hmmm
now I remember why I stopped coming here haha
new out of the wild fields of afoiajvowi............could it be meteor?
Sapphire weapon?
You only see it twice.
Unfortunately, I don't know of any other FF it's in.
Can't be interacted with in any way.
Is "expelled" from the planet.
EDIT: After reading your post about what the answer isn't, I realize this is wrong.
I'm not sure if this would qualify as an item, but what about the Holy materia?
Yes, the White Materia which contains the Holy spell is a good guess. But, I'm not certain if Materia would be classed as an item. The Holy spell, I'm not certain if it's in previous games - but I'm betting it is.
If the answer is not White Materia, I'm going with the Black Materia and the Meteor spell.
Both answers don't seem correct as the party does have the White Materia as Aerith holds it, and they end up holding the Black Materia in the game - I don't remember if it is accessed by the player through the menu....
The original US version of FFVI had Holy but it was renamed Pearl.
I'm afraid none are right.
Masamune?
Rats! I'm out of ideas at the moment.
Nope.
Are the two chances to see the answer part of the main story, or is it something you could possibly miss?
That is a good question, but I'm still out of ideas.
One is missable.
materia spring?
Omnislash?
Omnislash is a limit break, if I'm not mistaken.
I don't think Materia Spring is in any other final fantasies and as Shinwa said it is not Omnislash as that's a limit break.
Oops. I forgot that clue X_x
for a quick moment, Don Corneo and his antics came to mind. because his appearance in Wutai is optionable and missable. however, hes a person, and apps and rapps are both monsters :( anything to do with the good Don?
Indeed the DonxWutai section is entirely miss-able... and that is indeed the miss-able part of my riddle... I say nothing else till I get a solid guess though lol
Is it the idea of the Turks being passive? You can see it in Wutai, which can be missed, and you can see it in the Midgar Train Tunnels when you return. It can be missed, too, but I think that they are passive anyways, it's just up to Cloud whether or not he wants to be a jerk.
i wouldnt say it deals with the turks. they can also be missed in the crashed gelinka underwater. but im merely assuming kaiserdragon was well aware of this also being a missable section :P
unfortunately, i wish i could throw out a good guess. my memory is quite foggy of this game :( maybe the leviathan scale? i cant remember if thats viewable in the inventory or not...
I'm afraid thats not the right answer, the Don Corneo side quest is the first place you can see the answer
Is it the Aero spell?
I know Rapps uses it, and I think the enemies at the top of Gaia's Cliff use it, and those are the only two times you'll see it.
IT's been in almost all other games in the series.
As far as I know you never get anything that let's you cast the spell.
Still don't know what the last line is talking about.
I originally thought that Aero was a spell that could be used by Materia, looked it up in the Strategy Guide - and that's not so. But as a spell - even a monster spell - it's possible to see many times.
The only monster, according to the guide, which has an Aero attack is Rapps - and Rapps has Aero3. Also, I don't think that a magic relates to the third line, because I don't know if you can hold energy.

Riddle Repost:
Only two chances do you have to see me
The origin of such is found in antiquity
Only to be seen never to be held
Do not try to find me I've been expelled
Hints:
The answer is something that can only be seen twice within FF7 and one of those chances is missable. The answer relates to Wutai somehow. And the second line refers to a few previous FF games before FF7.
We have our winner ladies and gentlemen let me explain ^^
Only two chances do you have to see me - the spell is cast by only 2 different monsters, rapps and some monster in the whirlwind maze.
The origin of such is found in antiquity - the first time the aero spells are found in the final fantasy series is FFIII
Only to be seen never to be held - the fact that it is a spell but not an obtainable materia.
Do not try to find me I've been expelled - Some people speculate that the spell was originally intended to be a materia but was cut before the end.
Congratulations Mr Schpagge.
Addendum: yes, technically you can see the spell more then once if they cast it more then once but at that point in the game (when your in the whirlwind maze) I always find myself strong enough to kill the monster before it has more then 2 turns. but if you want to be pedantic you could in theory sit there and let it cast the spell over and over but meh.
Ah, my bad - I don't know very much about the FF series before FF7.
:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
That was gonna be my last guess too.
:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
Anyway, my last attempt at this tanked, so hopefully this one is up a little longer.
Your journey has brought you through desert, ice, and into space; what you desire is almost in hand.
There are times you fall short of your goals, then you remember me, your last chance for success.
I am the light that guides the heroes home.
lifestream, sounds like. its so shiny in the end game sequence!
Cid and his wife, forgot her name atm =/
I don't think Cid had a wife; he's got Shera, but she's just a maid-ish-type-person, I think.
At any rate, neither guess is right.
The Lifestream seems like something that is seen often.
what does that have anyhting to do with the potential validity of the answer?
anyways, another guess: i forget the materia name, but the materia combo that activates upon death combined with phoenix :P a very bright light indeed, and happens when you forget that youve combined the two together at just the right time
Could it be the various methods of transport throughout the game?
Ack, I missed the new riddle!
I'm going to guess Aeris, for MrSchpagge.
It it items in general/the item command?
huge materia
None of these.
uuuuuhhhhhmmmmm.
.
.
.
holy?
Save Point?
I can see this one is going to do a lot better than my last. :D
You're all still very cold.
What was the closest answer? Even if that answer is far off....
the highwind gets super shiny at the end. is it the lever that CId decides to never pull until the end of the game? :P
I reckon it's probably the Highwind as well.
But just to keep my chances alive, I'll guess the rocket ship's escape pod.
Neither of these are right, but you guys have the right idea.
I'll start handing out more helpful hints tomorrow.
Repost:

I am the light that guides the heroes home.
The light on the front of the Highwind? lol
Edit: Could it be the Sister Ray? after all we wouldn't have gotten into the Northern Cave without it.
I'm guessing the Promised Land.
Chocobo?
wow, i love kaiserdragons guess. great thinking!
i keep on tripping over my thoughts. the first line, to me at least, implies that this thing appears strictly after the space launch. should i be worrying over this detail?
guessing tiny bronco since someone already guessed the cannon
Quite literal... I keep coming back to the thought that your talking about the Holy/Lifestream that rises up to stop meteor at the end, it is a light that you follow back to Midgar (what I presume you mean by home) but seeing as both have already been guessed... I'm out of idea's right now.
Could you be referring to the light of Marlene's window that you see just before Holy rises up to stop meteor... I honestly don't know how this would fit in with the rest of the riddle.
The best hint I can give at this point is the first line has nothing to do with the main story.
Your journey has brought you through desert, ice, and into space; what you desire is almost in hand - In the Gold Saucer Speed Square game, you go through desert, ice and space.
There are times you fall short of your goals, then you remember me, your last chance for success. - It's pretty hard to get a good high score, but shooting down the big spaceship nets a 1000 points (I think)
I am the light that guides the heroes home. - Spaceships have lots of lights?
Is it the big spaceship in the Speed Square mini-game at the Gold Saucer?
I'm thinking the Chocobo races for some reason.
Does the answer have something to do with Gold Saucer?
As to what, I'm a bit clueless right now.
the light you can shoot at the very end at the bottom left to get 200 points?
He scored off my assist though. I am happy. xD
I'm giving it to Mo-Nercy. Thanks to him I got the answer.
Let's see what you have No-Mercy.
Aerith?
It's not Aerith/Aeris.
The Cover materia found in the church where you first meet Aeris.
If this is the answer Karifean can have a go at it, I like being on the guessing side of the riddles.
The last post was more then 3 days ago - for me it is only 2 more days before a week has passed. I'll post a riddle if Karifean doesn't wish to go.
Anyone planing a riddle, if not give me time and I will get one ready.
uhm, im not... i vote go for it and bump the thread :)
Give me a bit.
Edit:
Here's my riddle.
A kunteki of the Lunar creatures,
Whom unari at their mother.
Who am I?
wait, what? that all seems greek to me. and i dont know greek. shot in the dark: baddies found in the cave of the gi behind cosmo canyon?
Not quite. It's a monster, yes. But in a very different location. Try looking at the italic words..... I'll translate them after 5 more guesses.
I'm going with Jumping. The reason being 'lunar creature' may refer to the rabbit of the moon.
*Laughs out loud*
That's not the creature, BG-57, that is being referred to. Also is Jumping a monster? If so, that's the wrong one.
Did some research: Kunteki = master; Unari = growl
I could be wrong about the translation, but going off of this I'm going to say Gigas.
*sing song voice* It's not Gigas. *ends sing song voice* But your translations are correct.
PS: Gigas means giant in Greek, the term is usually for males giants.
Lunar is capitalized, does that mean it's refferring to the Lunar series?
If that's the case I'm going to say the Black/Dark Dragon.
Uh, how is the Lunar series linked to FF7? But that's not the answer at all.
Edit: Ah, misread, sry.
Ah, I capitalized Lunar for no reason what so ever. And it's not Jenova either.
Been a bit, so here's the riddle reposted.
A kunteki of the Lunar creatures,
Whom unari at their mother.
Who am I?
Think about this: The answer could be considered a kunteki of this? This could help you a bit.
uh Vincent?
the turks
The Weapons ( the monster weapons not swords) Idk :P
It's not a Turk member - present or past.
It should help that you know that kunteki means master in Japanese.
or by not using japanese at all :P
I'd rather use Japanese, when I can. I'll be editing my previous post for grammar&spelling mistakes.
Sephiroth?
His clones could be considered lunar creatures, seeing as how their "mother" is an alien life form.
Nope!
Uh, try figuring out what Lunar creatures unari at their mother.
bugenheigen or w/e old floaty ball man's name was
Nanaki? Sense he's a wolf he growls
Uh, it not Nanaki/Red but the wolf is the creature I'm referring to.
Now, can anyone figure out what or who the kunteki is?
The translated riddle.
A Master/Guide/Teacher of the Lunar creatures,
Whom groan/roar/howl/growl/bellow/sough at their mother.
Who am I?
So we are looking for a master of wolf's who growls at their mother... not sure who that could be... seeing as Nanaki has already been guessed, I am all out of idea's.
A few more guesses and I'll give a hint, as to what it is.
Is it Seto, Nanaki's father?
Damn, that was my next guess. Oh well. =/
What about the King Behemoth?
Well.... It's a monster that's for certain.
Bandersnatch is the last wolf-thing I can think of.
Hint: on a train.
Sorry, but I'm not giving much more then that at the moment.
Wow, I was way off.
If no one get's it in a few posts I'll go.
Wolfmeister. Fought on the runaway train.
That is correct, BG-57! It is the Wolfmeister, wolves howl at the moon, and werewolves would consider the moon to be their mother. Meister means master in, uh, I forget which language.
german :P
Odd, I did a riddle on this guy once. Completely forgot about him though. :p
Looks really painful
Like the gag arrows
But it must work
On selling to Davey
Hmm...
Looks really painful - spikes?
Like the gag arrows - again, spikes?
But it must work - cannot fail?
On selling to Davey - Davey Jones?
No guess, just wondering. BG, you're riddles are always so far for me. I gotta stop thinking so inside the box with you.
Ah, yes. Meister could be German, but I think it is in many languages.
*laughs a bit* Is that so BG-57?
Could 'gag arrows' be referring to something in our world or theirs (FF7)?
FFIX Choco Boy,
Yes, line 4 refers to Davey Jones. Not spikes, but something sharp is involved.
Shinwa Tsuki,
It was originally German, but it has spread into other languages.
Gag arrow refers to our world.
Ah, okay.
Do the gag arrows refer to the 'arrow through the head' gag? As that's the only thing I can find.
kinda makes me think of the scene where cloud runs sephy through with his sword, which then turns to sephy running cloud through HIS sword. oh, the irony...
Shinwa Tsuki,
Yes.
Khimbar2775,
Nope.
I may be completely off...
Seto?
Wow, people reply fast!
palmer? something about the gag arrow thing makes me think of palmer, especialy at rocket town...
Mr Twisticles,
Not Seto.
Khimbar2775,
Not Palmer either.
Repost:

does referring to davey jones relate to the crashed gelinka? isnt there a materia that you find in the hangar next to a downed chopper? its been *years* since ive played this game btw....
No, not the Gelinka. It's more to do with Davey Jones than his "locker".
Ghost ship? like the move where he knocks one of your people out of battle?
Doesn't "Davy Jones" refer to the ocean depth?
If that's so, I have to wonder if the answer is linked to the submarine mini-quest?
Not Ghost Ship.
Nothing to do with submarines.
Davey Jones' Locker is indeed a nickname for the depth's of the ocean (actually 'Davey Jones' is a nickname for the Devil, like 'Old Scratch'). However I already said it wasn't the locker.
HintThink of people that would use that term.
Ah, didn't know that.
Pirates are the ones who say "Davey Jones' Locker", if I'm not mistaken. And pirates are thieves on the seas.
Yes, so the answer is related to pirates.
the only pirate looking guys are the enemys that steal you stuff in the prison
Hm, pirates and the 'arrow through the head' gag.... I'm a bit lost.
Does the gag arrow related to looks painful but is harmless? Or to the answer being a joke or prank in some fashion?
Ah. I'm out of ideas right now.
Red XIII in the sailor suit?
It's a stretch, but someone has to say something.
It's not a character.
Repost:
Looks really painful

On selling to Davey
Anything to do with the Ghost Ship?
Nope.
Dang!
Some that looks painful but is really harmless. And it's related to pirates....
Is it an item?
I really have nothing for this riddle
Unlikely I know but is it the monster that you can encounter with the thief's that heals you before dieing in the place below the gold saucer?
It's not a monster/enemy.
Care to give a hint?
Certainly. :)
HintIt's connected to a specific location.
It might have something to do with the Underwater Reactor.....
No, but you're getting close.
Uh, the Underwater Tunnel?
I know it has to be underwater something...
No, keep going.
Is it the Marine enemy on the Shinra Boat?
You're going out to sea. Try going ashore.
Ah, yes, it's not a monster - totally forgot about that. Going ashore....
So the sea connection must be in our world.
Once you get the location, the rest should be easier.
the gas chamber in junon that contained tifa until the WEAPON blew a hole in the room?
No, although you're right about Junon.
Cloud being beaten up by Heidigger?
The cat fight between Scarlet and Tifa
No to both.
Canon? its a place, in junon, and pirates usually have it?
The canon is also called the Scarlet Ray.... I'm thinking the submarine mini-game for some odd reason.
in my game its called the sister ray
It's not the Sister Ray cannon.
The submarine mini-game, it starts at Junon. But I take it that's not correct. I think it may be Mr. Dolphin - the aquatic friend of Priscilla.
No to both. The answer is found inside Junon proper.
No, but you're very close.
Ah. Well, I'm out of ideas.
That's what brainstorming is for! Okay so here's what we know, condensed into one nice neat post (I've not included the incorrect guesses so far because the hints here eliminate them all):
Looks really painful
Like the gag arrows
But it must work
On selling to Davey
-found inside Junon proper.
-not a character.
-not a monster/enemy.
-the answer is related to pirates
-nothing to do with the ghost ship
-something sharp is involved, but not spikes
"Is davey the shop keeper who has to hire girls who lure in buyers to sell stuff in junon, but the action just costs him money?"
"No, but you're very close."
Line 2 refers to the 'arrow through the head' gag. The answer isn't a gag, "but it might inspire that reaction if you thought it was real."
I'm off to Junon, to search out the answer!
[edit]...Well, I watched a let's play and didn't see anything there, and I'm playing through the game now. It'll be a little bit before I get there.
wasn't there a guy in junon who has fake weapons?
It's found in one of the weapon shops.
It's the poster of a skull and bones with a sword through the head, in the accessory shop in Junon.
The first two lines, then, are obvious. The last two are worded in a very tricky way. He means that the poster, having a skull and bones, works for the purpose of advertising to pirates. (And the sword through the skull says "ARRR! These be deadly useful items we sell.")
How long do solvers get to post new riddles? It used to be 48 hours but I figure that may well have changed...
I've looked through the thread a little bit, BG...looks like the answers have become a little more obscure on average since the older days. :D
Correct! Your go. :)
We can wait for a while so long as you make it clear you are going to post one.
I know, but some of that is due to the fact that we've had hundreds of riddles over the years and the more obvious ones have already been covered and I don't like repeating myself.
I do give hints, so hopefully it's not impossible. :p
Yeah, I figured over time it's bound to happen. Either answers have to be more obscure, or riddles have to be more tricky. Depending on turnover of course. I could probably post one from a few years back and it would do fine...but I like writing them, so.
I'm gonna stick with the death theme. Seems cheery enough. :D
*****
Like heiroglyphs from old Egyptian days,
the "teller" is gone but the story stays:
Pharaohs to heaven must pay a great fare
with riches they often postmortemly wear.
Or, if that reading is quite incorrect,
and the item in question was meant to protect,
well clearly the wearer neglected to stay,
so perhaps we conclude 'twas a curse either way.
White/Holy Materia?
