It's a reference to Mayor Domino's chanllenge he sets you on the 62nd floor of Shinra HQ. Hart is his bodyguard who you can go to if you require clues.
The riddle is being told from his perspective so I'll just guess Mayor Domino?

Aye, that was easy xD
I'll be busy with speeches till tomorrow so if anyone wants to submit one, feel free.
If not I'll do one tomorrow.
Talk to me before I lose it.
Battle until I get it back.
Talk again, and it's gone again.
Battle, eventually, it's back.
I have the best you need,
though you may only get one,
I wish that my assistant
would do more than just chirp.
Chocobo Sage?
Karifean has it. And I thought that one was cryptic enough to last a couple days, too...
open round
A hidden item, often found, but never taken.
A dream, or is it real?
The second pass doesn't reveal the truth,
Maybe I should just take a peek.
is it the item under the chocobo nest? where you have to choose to take it or not?
Nope
i remember in Crisis core, in the shinra mension you have to peek through keyholes..
does FF7 have the same kind of scene? cant remember :o
.. becaus then thats my answer xD
In final fantasy 7 you could peek through keyholes at the Honey Bee in. but you didn't have to
Nope.
Orthopedic underwear!
THere ya go!
Wow. That's two riddles almost in a row with Orthopedic Underwear being the answer.................xD
Gimme a bit to get a riddle around!
Rabbi, professor, traveler
Some might even say Superman
YOU WON'T LIKE ME WHEN I'M ANGRY
Flame on!
Zangan
Yup.
You know he's real, but you cannot hurt him
Before you meet him you spy on him
Who loves making honey?
What honey's like making money?
Foreshadow.
Super easy one.
PRESIDENT SHINRA
or Don Corneo?
pff super easy he says :P
it can not be labeled easy until I have managed to solve it xD
You know he's real, but you cannot hurt him
Cait Sith/Reeve. Reeve is real but you cannot hurt him because he always uses Cait Sith which is just a stuffed "pet". In Dirge of Cerberus you even see his pet running around while Reeve is talking to you. If is would not be for the "you know he's real" sentence which can mean everything I would only say "Cait Sith", but this way both since many people use "Cait Sith" for "Reeve" as well.
Before you meet him you spy on him
In the Honey Bee Inn you can find him, Cait Sith, when Shinra cheats his wife again.
Who loves making honey?
What honey's like making money?
Also references of the Honey Bee Manor and maybe you even mean that he earns much money as a ShinRa employee.
Foreshadow.
It was not real, even though it was a fitting joke of Cloud.Quote:
A dream, or is it real?
Of course I am waiting for PalomPorom's answer but I will post a riddle here and in case he call for another round, you can answer it:
You might have never found me
well, no wonder, that big one mostly finds thee.
The likes of you won't differ my brother and me.
How to beat, how to catch,
hurry up with your guess or I am gone
since you are no match.
Sepheroth, you got it. I thought I'd make lots and lots of references because I beat this game 6 times and it was only the last playthrough I looked through a key hole at the honey bee in and seen cait sith in one of the rooms. I always wonderd why he was there, it's not like reeve can get pussy by sending a robot to do the do.
Well, is was more of a gag and some people escorting President Shinra who was there for his perverted roleplay.
So I guess, "Cait Sith" was the answer you definitely wanted but both together is also okay for you.
Riddle:
You might have never found me
well, no wonder, that big one mostly finds thee.
The likes of you won't differ my brother and me.
How to beat, how to catch,
hurry up with your guess or I am gone
since you are no match.
You might have never found me
well, no wonder, that big one mostly finds thee.
The likes of you won't differ my brother and me.
How to beat, how to catch,
hurry up with your guess or I am gone
since you are no match.
Hmmm... is it the Ultima WEAPON that flies around the map screen before you destroy it in Cosmo Canyon?
If I'm not mistaken, the "won't differ" part relates to either the character or the player being unable to distinguish the answer from it's sibling. (That was just an analysis, how accurate should be answered.)
I'll go with the obvious. It's a Chocobo.
You might never find them: They are optional.
Big one usually finds you: Midgar Zolom is the reason most people get one.
The likes of you won't differ my brother and me: There is no perceptible difference between the Chocobos, yet there is a great variety that can be caught (poor, good, great, etc).
How to beat, how to catch: Choice of what to do when one shows up.
Hurry up or I'll be gone: They run away shortly into combat.
Because you're no match: No matter how powerful you get, you can't kill them.
I think Skyblade has it
If the answer is chocobos, I will be greatly shamed for not having guessed it.
Choco, if the answer if chocobo you shouldn't feel ashamed as chocobos are different in each FF universe if I'm not mistaken (I've played FF7-FF9, no others).
But I'm obsessed with ALL chocobos. It's all I have! Without chocobo, I'm nothing.
Perhaps, perhaps. I get the feeling that you're exaggerating a bit Choco, that's okay with me though.
Midgar Zolom = Swamps of the Grassland Region
Chocobo = Grassland Region
Swamps =/= Chocobo footsteps. "The big one" (if it would be a the Midgar Zolom) cannot prevent you from finding a Chocobo because it does not even appear in one area.
"No wonder you might not have found me, there is that other guy that finds you most of the time and prevents you from finding me"
Also, Chocobos are all called "Chocobo". It is impossible to mean that one. The one I think of has a name and a similiar monster of the same species has a different name.
So:
No.
That's not the reason. "The big one" is the reason. Think about "why is the big one the reason"? I have already answered half of this question. And actually I have also answered half of the "remaining half" already. The answer to the first two lines cannot be more obvious now with that much of an explanation.Quote:
You might never find them: They are optional."
That is a good guess but the "catching" thing is the only thing that is not necessary to be taken seriously. It only refers to how fast the enemy is, like the two other lines.Quote:
How to beat, how to catch: Choice of what to do when one shows up."
You also need to think about both lines connected. "Because" ... why do you fail to do something? And why do you need to hurry up? Well, the last one, the "I'll be gone" part is answered in the riddle itself already and by you as well.Quote:
Hurry up or I'll be gone: They run away shortly into combat.
Because you're no match: No matter how powerful you get, you can't kill them."
And the "how to beat" part is really about "defeating them" and that does not work with a Chocobo. "Because you're no match" refers to the monster as a tricky enemy but nothing more. It is just the last line with a bit more meaning than the "catching part" plus gives the "guess part" a meaning about the riddle itself, so you won't just be able to defeat him but you also are not able to find out who I am asking for in this riddle because he is rare and tricky to fight. So focus more on the rest. I told you much about what what means, even everyhing about the last line now.
You/The heroes would not be able to notice the difference between the one I am looking for and its similiar looking "siblings", as you call them because their appearance is pretty much the same. For this you need to take this line serious as if Cloud and the others would be living people and stand before something they would not recognize as something different than the monster they can find somewhere else. This is only about physical appearance. The stats are completely different. Same would go for the Chocobos, of course. However, like I said, that is wrong.Quote:
If I'm not mistaken, the "won't differ" part relates to either the character or the player being unable to distinguish the answer from it's sibling. (That was just an analysis, how accurate should be answered.)
This is a Final Fantasy VII forum. So the difference line only counts for Final Fantasy VII. I am not that inhuman to make a multiverse riddle. And actually Chocobos always are very similiar, but yes, the physical appearance I ask for in the riddle is really about "I look totally equal to my brother in your eyes, Cloud (and the others)". Well, the guy i am looking for is even more similiar, but I'm telling you too much about it and then it could be too easy.Quote:
Choco, if the answer if chocobo you shouldn't feel ashamed as chocobos are different in each FF universe if I'm not mistaken (I've played FF7-FF9, no others).
Lucrecia, Gast, Hojo or Shalua would probably know the difference, they are scientists, biologists, genetic scientists, have eidetic memories, et cetera and an eye for details ... but no "normal people", so imagine Cloud and the others meeting the monster I am asking for and then meeting the similiar looking monster. They would never be able to tell you the difference because they look like twins. This, however goes too much into unnecessary explanations which could probably only be more confusing for you. By the way, this is not supposed to be taken to seriously. I just wanted to mention the similiarity. Too much of a detail and the riddle would not work. So I act as if the monster would talk to "biology noobs".
If you have never met that monster you cannot answer this riddle. The "never found me" part is meaningful as you can see. Actually all parts, excluding the "catching part" are but only that part really hinders you from solving that riddle ... that and maybe bad memory ... or missing logical conclusions ... okay, it's three possibilities why you may not solve it, heh.
That is really too much text for this riddle because it takes away the fun with all that serious explanations and reasonings when I tell you about them. I put meaning in every line but if it is too hard for people then I will tell you what I am looking for next time.
I give you a hint: First find out, what "the big one" is. Maybe you were lucky enough that "you mostly did not only find that one" and the other guy instead. Then you may remember the monster I ask for. "The big one" can immediately solve this riddle if you just know these things.
You can also write down everything I have told you to help you. Maybe this makes it easier for you to find out the truth.
Initially thought it sounded like the Snow from which you get Alexander, in the Great Glacier. But now I'm saying it's a Magic Pot in the Northern Crater.
And how can you explain the absolute physical similiarity of two different monsters of the same species with a Magic Pot or a Snow/Pollensalta/Jemnezy? Magic Pot = only one kind appears, Snow species, so the mentioned ones have physical differences and if you mean Snow alone: I said it is one of two monsters which are from the same species and look alike but are not the same monster (obviously, if it is "two" monsters), they don't have the same name, et cetera.
Also, the fountain area of the Northern Crater has no big one.
New hint:
The monster I am looking for is very small, smaller than the characters (take both their character model or the story, it doesn't matter, both is right).
Tinky Winky?
Serious answers, please.
Dipsy?
Okay, I will accept no more answers of you. No matter what you write. If you don't want to try then just ignore this thread.
Next one, please.
Lala?
Tonberry? The normal one is very difficult to find, but the Master is found rather easily (and frequently).
No, but very close in a certain way.
Another hint.
Po?
Cactuar? You can only fight him in an area where you're bound to run into 40 Sand Worms (the "big ones") before you find him and you can't really tell him apart from Cactuer.
Bing Bing Bing Bing Bing!
Ah, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. "40 Sand Worms".
And you forgot to mention that he is hard to hit in case you don't use something like a Summon (how to beat how to catch, hurry up with your guess) and he eventually flees (or I am gone) because he is hard to hit and beat for a normal monster (because you are no match).
Open round.
I'll take the floor.
Green is my color,
I am but one of many,
Yet I am unique,
What am I?
I'm wanting to say a materia, but none of them are unique, since you get another when you master them. Unless maybe it's the White Materia, which actually glows green when activated?
It is the White Materia. It is unique in that there is only one, and that it is a counterpart to the Black Materia.
Choco, you're up.
Inaccessible, I tempt you.
The elemental lord forbids passage.
The trees bar your way.
Another guardian stands, as well.
Mystery, that goes unsolved.
You'll never know what lies inside.
What am I?
That sounds like The Forgotten Capital with being inaccessible because of the Sleeping Forest which only awakes with the Moon Harp and Kujata as Elemental Lord.
It could also be the Round Island Cave, but for the Forgotten Capital the text is more fitting. Except you don't mean real trees, hm ...
Not the Forgotten Capital.
Yeah, I thought so. It was too easy.
The riddle threads are dying... It's a real shame.
Never! They may lie dormant for a while but their popularity will pick up again eventually.
It sounds to me like the ancient forest that you can only reach by Gold Chocobo or defeating Ultimate Weapon. I'm not sure all the clues quite fit but it sounds similar with trees barring your way and a guardian stands...
Not the Ancient Forest, either.
I'm gonna take another guess but we might need a clue soon. When I say "we" obviously I mean "I" at the moment!
Is it the Temple of the Ancients? Again, I don't think it really fits but it's inaccessible without the Keystone, it has more than one 'guardian' and it's surrounded by trees.
Man, that was a pretty lame guess actually... awaiting the inevitable rejection! Hopefully someone will come along soon who is better at this than me.
Anyway, Temple of the Ancients?
Not TotA.
Hint: The Forgotten Capital is the closest guess so far, in terms of storyline progression.
The closest? You mean the Cave which cannot be entered where a way leads down to a vine which cannot be climbed up? Or short, the thing that is called the "Cave of the Ancients"? That's an obvious one as well then. I didn't take that inaccessible and all that literally.

http://imageshack.us/a/img823/7249/cave2u.jpg
Yes, the Cave of the Ancients is the correct answer.
Inaccessible, I tempt you. - Obvious
The elemental lord forbids passage. - Kjata, who lies in the sleeping forest.
The trees bar your way. - The sleeping forest, which lies just before CotA.
Another guardian stands, as well. - The devs, who cut the cave itself in the final production of the game.
Mystery, that goes unsolved. - Nobody really knows what the cave was going to be.
You'll never know what lies inside. - Obvious.
Good riddle!
It makes my guesses look all the more ridiculous now...
Open round.
Hoo, boy.
------------
Was it all just a nightmare?
The reality is bleaker then usual.
I was burnt once then restored,
Now you might have never guessed it.
What is my name?
I'll go with the obvious. Nibelhiem?
Nibelheim or something in Nibelheim are the most obvious. Otherwise it could be Corel which was burnt to build the Gold Saucer there and rebuilt as a Desert Camp in the mountains. Teh nightmare thing is not really fitting for that, however. It can be seen what happened to Corel and the terrible state of North Corel as "the best solution they have" also shows it. And Barret also knows it. Maybe also Dyne ... but Dyne was not burnt. You can connect this to Corel being burnt but he was in the mountains when he disappeared. And Barret even knew about Dyne because the doctors told him about a similiar surgery on the other arm of a man. Hm. The most obvious really is Nibelheim or something from Nibelheim.
No, you're both wrong.
I think the answer is Nibelheim.
Was it all just a nightmare? - From the character's point of view, something could be a nightmare.
The reality is bleaker then usual. - What the character's thought was a nightmare was the truth.
I was burnt once then restored, - Two places match this: Nibelheim and Correl.
Now you might have never guessed it. - A person/character not native to the place would not suspect anything.
What is my name? - Nibelheim, the reason being was that the Shinra company rebuilt Nibelheim so well that no one would have expected it's nightmarish past.
As Choco got that first - I'll let him take the floor if he wants to.
Open round, I guess. I'm dry.
I hold everything
Beauty, magic, power, blessings
I slip, I fall
All is released
Like rose petals scattered in the wind
At the end
Aeris.
no
The Lifestream, also possible in its condensed form, the Materia. But the Lifestream itself is more fitting. Mako is also a part of the Lifestream but not all so of the three the Lifestream is the most fitting one and I choose that.
Nope.
Midgar?
No.
It sounds to me like the part where Cloud presents the black Materia to Sephiroth in the Northern Crater... then the weapons are released.
I hold everything
Beauty, magic, power, blessings
I slip, I fall
All is released
Like rose petals scattered in the wind
At the end
It seems Miss Boobs would like to utilise me as her official PA for this riddle. That being the case here are a couple of clues to help solve it.
It is not a person or place.
It is not useable
Odin?
I hold everything
Beauty, magic, power, blessings
In Norse mythology, Odin is the god of many things.
I slip, I fall
All is released
Like rose petals scattered in the wind
At the end
As far as I remember, though my memory is vague, the animation for Odin's "Steel Bladed Sword" attack featured rose petals. "All is released" and "At the end" refer to death, which is what the attack causes.
"I slip, I fall"... Not sure about this, but in mythology, Odin's horse was named Sleipnir, which in Old Norse means literally "slippy" or "the slipper" (as in one who slips, not as in something you wear on your foot). "I fall" could be a reference to his other attack, "Gunge Lance".
So my guess is Odin.
Nope.
My hint:
It is not a person or place.
It is not useable
Just to clarify; when you say it is not a person, do you mean a being? or only human beings? like can it be a monster
Is it simply the planet?
It holds everything... I slip, I fall doesn't quite fit I don't think but it reminds me of the planet being in trouble. All is released sounds like the release of the weapons which I suppose scatter to the wind.
At the end may refer to them being awoken to destroy everything.
Nope. And DarkBahamaut--it's not a being or alive in any way.
Judging by the lack of responses we may need a clue!
Being back to the forum after some time and glad to see new riddles here.
So here's my guess: It might be Holy, or the white materia
I hold everything
Beauty, magic, power, blessings ----> The white materia looks beautiful, is a powerful magic materia, and holds the bessings of aeris within
I slip, I fall ----> refering to the scene where you see the materia falling down into the lake
All is released
Like rose petals scattered in the wind
At the end ----> May mean the end, when Holy/ the power of the white materia is released and the lifestream ist coming from all over the world to fight off meteor.
You never figured out my riddle
You just decided to sit around and piddle
This new riddle will help you figure it out at last
And perhaps we will all have a laugh
Are you brave enough to have a guess?
Tell me - does this ribbon match my dress?
No.
Hm. The only other thing I can think of that might fit that criteria is Meteor itself. Sephy is like that but he's a person so he doesn't fit. :-/
Is it the White Materia?
It holds beauty and it also holds power as well with the ability to stop Meteor. "I slip, I fall" sounds like the point where Aeris dies and the white materia drops. Also, at this point, the materia looks like it falls from a ribbon on Aeris' dress.
So yeah, white materia, bitches.
No, it's not the White Materia (pretty sure like, 3 people have guessed that)...but you're SO CLOSE YOU'RE ON FIRE
Is it the White Materia?
EDIT: If not then Aeris' pocket
Her...pocket? Does she have pockets? xD No.
Then maybe it's simply the ribbon that holds the white materia? When it slips out of her hair then it releases the materia which holds beauty, magic, power, blessings...
So yeah, her ribbon.
If not then maybe white materia.
It's her ribbon.
Thank smurf someone finally got this. xD
It wasn't really that tricky, to be honest. That's why it only took us 463 days to figure it out xD
Right...
Come fly with me, we're heading to town
Give me your best or I'll shoot you down
You need to train if you're gonna take me on
Now go fourth and fight, you don't have long
Ultimate Weapon?
Nope
Diamond Weapon.
Nope, it's none of the Weapons.
The UFO in the Speed Square. Or the Eagle Gun on the train. Or Snoopy.
Snoopy is an excellent guess Sephiroth... but you were right with Eagle Gun!
Come fly with me, we're heading to town
This line is a clue towards Eagle and the train heading to Corel
Give me your best or I'll shoot you down
This is in relation to the second part of its name... it's a gun
You need to train if you're gonna take me on
This is just a blatant reference to the train
Now go fourth and fight, you don't have long
It's the fourth enemy you fight on the train and the last part indicates that it's a timed event
Sephiroth my man, you're up!

String, or nothing!Whoa there was an extra page here.
Is it Kylo or Rey that's the thief?
Stay in time to avoid getting grief.
All is not lost if you miss out on first
I'm right round the corner, if you've a big enough purse
For some reason I'm thinking something in the gold saucer. Is it Battle Square?
Nope, not in the Gold Saucer!
I wonder. Is it the guy outside of Gold Saucer? Who will exchange gil for GP? (is that what the gold saucer points are called? I forget.)
Nope!
Clue: It's not a person.
Is it that three button puzzle Cloud, Tifa, and Barrett do in the second reactor?
The Ultima materia you get from the kid in Corel.
Neither of those answers are correct!
It is something that can be obtained in two different locations.
Is it Kylo or Rey that's the thief?
Stay in time to avoid getting grief.
All is not lost if you miss out on first
I'm right round the corner, if you've a big enough purse
I'm guessing it's something you have to steal from a boss but can buy nearby if you don't. The timing clue is how to either defeat or avoid the boss and presumably the Star Wars hint refers to the item itself - and the theft thereof - but that'll take more thought.
It's Force Stealer. I'll pass my go.
EDIT: That was a really good riddle!
Crop has it!
Is it Kylo or Rey that's the thief?
A clue to the name. Force Stealer.
Stay in time to avoid getting grief?
You need to score highly on the routine for Rufus at Junon dock otherwise Heidegger scolds you.
All is not lost if you miss out on first
First prize is Force Stealer but if you miss it...
I'm right round the corner, if you've a big enough purse
You can buy it at North Corel if you have a spare 2200 Gil.
Free round! Anybody feel free to jump in with one :D
Ruby and Emerald both sit upon me,
but at first glance you might think I'm a long way from home.
Push me too hard and my anger will explode,
and unaided you'll walk a mile in my shoes.
I've never done a riddle before so sorry in advance if it's hard/easy/awful.
I'm not really sure about the first or fourth line but the middle two make me think of those penguin creatures you fight near Cosmo Canyon amongst other places.
I think they're called SkeeSkee or something. But yeah they're a long way from home because they're penguins and they have that Rage Bomber attack.
Nailed it xD
The emerald and ruby is about their brightly coloured head plumage being red and green (and thus distinguishing them from the other palette swap penguins) and the last line is because rage bomber makes you angry too ("my shoes") with the Fury status and, if you don't have any tranquilizers, will have to walk to Cosmo Canyon to get some.
Aah, very good. I like it!
If someone wants to have a go then feel free to jump in. If not, I'll put one up tomorrow when I'm at work... working :shifty:
Is that a question or an answer?
Mr. Holzoff’s cabin?
