Cz - George has been a member at EoFF for a long time indeed. I can think of lots of nice things i'd like to say about him, but the fact he's a dirty dirty Arsenal fan keeps rearing it's ugly head. :mad2: But even that fact can't take away from Black Mage 121's status as an all round top bloke. He definitely deserves this award, he's funny, he's a nice guy, he's intelligent and he doesn't make a nuisance of himself. In case you're wondering, yes, I am trying to lobby to get him on the CK's. I've been voting and nominating him for that Ciddie for ages. :mad2:

Dr Unne - Out of all the nominees, the longest standing member of all. He seems more like a deity than regular member, as if this catagory is too low for him. Not to knock the award, mind, merely trying to emphasize Unne's status on these forums. I mean, there is a lot one could say about Dr Unne, he's done many positive things in his stay here at EoFF, he's been a fine admin in his time, contributed the best FF1 site on the internet to EoFF for it's use, hell, he's a dab hand at the old Origami and consistently knocks out beautiful works that dazzle the EoFF public. Being on Leeza's good side is always a plus in any situation, too. :spin:

Iceglow - Iceglow already has one cheerleader in his quest for a ciddie, his partner Twisted Tinkerbell. He's been around for a while now, under various usernames. I think he's been traumatised by sending Loony BoB his hair, but that's understandable, it's happened to a few people. Anyone who sticks around EoFF after Towns does unspeakable things to their hair is worthy of their spot in this award. Handsome devil he is, too. :aimkiss:

LunarWeaver - I'll be honest, my knowledge of LunarWeaver is restricted to knowing he posts a crapload of usernotes in peoples usernotes that I also post in, and him and Keith have some sort of thing going on for each other. According to his profile he was trained by one-eyed ninja parrots and he wants to live in a purple tractor, and it's this sort of mental state which is very necessary in being able to stay at EoFF for long periods of time. My own ignorance is no reason to discount the man from this award, though, as he is obviously much loved among the people. I also am working against a time limit here so I'm pretty much talking out of my arse without looking up on these people, so SORRY :laughing:

Maxx Power - Towns told me that I should "just go on about the simpons character Maxx Power! He's the only simposons character who's been up for a ciddie! ha ha!" But then I thought that was kinda sucky and made me glad for Maxx that Towns isn't writing this speech this year. That being said, this effort is piss poor as well. I know Maxx loves Machine Head and sucks at Guitar Hero. He also has his EoFF going to the moon project, which is a quality idea and more people need to contribute to it. Expect a strong showing, with his bunch of Pirate Red Mages showing their love.

Meat Puppet - Now, some of you might not know this, but MP and I have had run-ins in the past long before he came to EoFF. Well okay, not LONG, but still. And if you'd have told me back then that he'd be here today in a Ciddie like this, i'd have probably laughed at you and called you something crude. However, times change, and so do people, and MP has become one of the most valid members of the EoFF community. He is the undisputed master of usernotes, even if the company he chooses to associate himself with there is rather...poor. Consistently funny, and willing to help out (See:Wiki), MP is a definite contender for this award. Shame Devil-Cloud didn't walk the same path. :spin:

nik0tine - I think I have bitten off more than I can chew with this speech. I'm running out of time. I would have had done this much more efficiently, if it was not for this member. That azn girl with the weird face that nik0tine posted all over the place a while back warped my brain forever and now i'm broken. Other than warping minds, nik0 provides us all with quality works in the form of his music and poetry, and is a fierce debator in the EoEo forum. Please vote for him so he doesn't post that picture again. :(

Old Manus - LOL LITTLE MANUS!!! (I always wanted to do that. :D)

Rye - Oh dear. It's a sad state of affairs when you can buy yourself a nomination for best Veteran by selling yourself to the members. :nonono: Our resident strumpet has been providing mighty service to the EoFF members for years now, so it's no surprise she finds herself in the mix for this award. A sad day for the Ciddies indeed. :( (sorry Issy, but i'll make it up later, you'll see. :jess:)

Sephiroth1999AD - Sephiroth1999AD is almost as old as Dr Unne, if my memory serves me correctly (which it probably doesn't.) He's one of the most frequent posters in the gaming forums and is a huge help to many people, and has been doing this for as long back as I can remember. Pretty much defines the word Veteran (at a Final Fantasy message board, at any rate.)

Slade - Slade are one of the most recognisable acts of the glam rock movement, and were at their peak the most commercially popular band in the UK. The band is possibly most famous for the song Merry Xmas Everybody (released December 1973), which is now one of the most iconic British Christmas pop songs.

The Captain - Really, I could go on and on about The Captain and about what a great guy and great poster he is, but it's all been said before, because EVERYONE knows it. So I'll just say that this guy definitely deserves to be here, and may he stay around because him being here means EoFF is a better place.

Chemical makes long posts. At least the ones I’ve seen. I’d read them but it’s 1:00 AM and I have a lot more people to go through, most of whom I have no idea who they are. So, to reiterate: Chemical is a Recognized Member. He probably did something cool.

Del Snizz: Del Snizz is a former staff and claims to be the original Del. His last post was in September, and stuff before that brief time frame date back to 2003. He also has posts going back to 2001. The conclusion here is that he’s been around for a long, long time. And probably did some cool stuff.

Endless: Endless is another Former Staffer. Searches of his posts lead back to 2001. So again, I was not around when he was on staff and thus I have no idea what he really did.

I do know that his avatar often has him mistaken for a woman. That’s something in his favor, right?

Giga Guess: Finally, someone I do know! Giga Guess is a Recognized Member, for his work on the World of EoFF along with Trumpet Thief, Carnage and t3h j3ff. He put a lot of work into making the world interesting for others. Sadly, the World of EoFF is no longer active, but thinking about it makes me want to bug BoB into resurrecting it again.

I may just have to go do that.

Rainecloud: Rainecloud is another Recognized Member. What he’s recognized for I have no idea. I think he’s also mistaken for a girl sometimes too. Gonna give Endless a real run for his money if he has that going on too, that’s for sure.

Raistlin: Raistlin is a Former Staff, implying that he was a CK back in the day. And what a day that must have been.

Our resident crotchety old guy, Raistlin somehow, invariably is the butt of just about every joke on this forum. He was there since it started, and he hasn’t gone away since, much as some people (see: Shlup) might want him to.

RSL: Everybody loves RSL! An Eeyore lover, as well as a secret lover of Rydia, RSL has been at EoFF for a long time. Almost as long as Raistlin, I think. He’s often equated with a big teddy bear, and he’s just generally loved by everyone. Anybody who doesn’t love RSL is evil/a communist/a nazi/a cyborg/whatever.

ShlupQuack: Why is she on here!? She’s not even Former Staff anymore! We just GAVE her her power back!

Anyway, Shlup’s cool, evil, pink saturating, blah blah blah I already wrote several paragraphs on her and I’m not going to do it again.

Shlup was admin. She stepped down. She became admin once again. She will smite us all.

theundeadhero: There are many heroes in this world, but there aren’t a lot of undead heroes. To that end, theundeadhero is truly unique.

He’s a Recognized Member, for what I can only imagine (my guess is “being awesome”). A paint master extraordinaire and also a military man, he also works with the site staff and is generally cool.

And undead.

Which really would make him pretty cool, I suppose. What with the whole no body heat and all.

Xander: Xander was a CK. And there was much love, cuteness and pandas. And then she stepped down. And there was a lot less cuteness.

And then we as the staff collectively grew sticks up our rear. Apparently.

Whether or not the latter of that story is true or not, Xander was in her time a kind and sensible CK, and we all loved her. Truly, the staff forum hasn’t been the same since.

If you're going to give freaking speeches you should probably know something about the people you're speaking about. As a long time member of this message board who has posted their picture numerous times and can be found in archived Ciddies as most sexy female nominee I am dissapointed not only in Behold the Void for making the shere stupid mistake of mistaking me for a man (as if the freaking pink Chocobo wasn't obvious enough... okay so the pink chocobo actually means I'm invisible ... BUT STILL they could have looked into my portfolio or ... asked or something) but I blame Award Guy for not editing this obvious mistake and further more I both blame and am dissapointed in the system that would allow this horrible unjustice to unfold.

Another Ciddies is coming to an end and I can unregretably say that this is another year I am unscathed by you horrendous title stuffing wankers.

Yes BoB, those are wings, yes BoB you can fly, no BoB don't jump off that clif...

Oh well. Now we've got the main attractions out of the way I feel it's time we ran down through the real hard workers around here, the ones you vote on. We've got Azar, also known as the bearded lady to some. DK, aka Dan, aka Chicken legs, aka the increadible strectching Taco (honestly don't ask, it's a sight you'd only ever want to see once...). Flying Mullet, who I'm told can do more with a Ping pong ball then some Thai girls he met while in Japan. And last but not least we have Stri, aka Strider, aka the Strong Man. He can lift a whole server above his head with one finger, honest!

Now we're through with the freaks I feel I should mention our eternal ringmistriss, the eternalshiva, hell theres always gotta be one looker in the bunch, but other then that I think thats it.

Watching them the first time was bad enough. All they do is get in the way.

This is Rye, presenting Best Cid's Knight.

As everyone knows, one does not simply walk into Mordor ask to become a Cid's Knight; it's something that you need to be recognized and selected for. Unless you provide sexual favors... but that's another story. Anyway, each Cid's Knight was selected for possessing all sorts of skills or qualities that are admired in a forum moderator on Eyes On Final Fantasy, such as responsibility, good judgment, regular posting and a generally clean record among other things. But of course, those are just base qualities, and our Cid Knight's deviate from those quite a bit with their quirks that we love them for (who could love a moderating robot, anyway?! ... well, except for clout <3), along with what they do for us.

And they surely do help us a lot. Our crazy shinra are the metaphoric mommies of the fora, protecting the little'uns from the bullies, resolving conflicts (he's making fun of my post! ;_; ), helping us with our wardrobe (your signature is too big and it causes seizures *snip*), covering our eyes during the naughty parts of the movies (you can't post that snow penis! *ban* *snip*) and... well, I'd say that they kiss our boo-boos, but I think most of the Cid Knights' mouthes are too busy for that... ewwww!

But off of THAT horrid subject, let me give a description of each of our CKs as to rejolt your memory about why we love (or HATE :bigsmile:) each of them so much.

Behold the Void

Our first possible winner of this award, Behold the Void is a very quiet, polite but efficient Cid's Knight and a hard worker. He's very well known for his writing skills, and I've had the good fortune to see them for myself through working in the EoFF Post. He's very helpful and skilled with video games, and he's very knowledgeble in anime, and in general.

Del Murder

It seems that for me that Del Murder has always been at EoFF, it surprises me that he joined on a year before I did. Del seems to be very much a behind the scenes type of moderator, so I'll comment more on the person behind the blue custom title. He was mostly known for being part of the Spam Brigade, supposedly looking like Ben Stiller, and making various witty comments by the oldbies, but now he's known for many things with his fellow Cid's Knight girlfriend, Miriel, such as only letting his feet be seen on the message board and being a sweet boyfriend. He also works on the EoFF Post too as the jumbler, so he does a lot for the EoFF community.

eestlinc

Though our dear elsie has been inactive as of late, he is still loved by many people and considered an excellent Cid's Knight. When he is active, he's not only a very fast-acting and witty member, but a kind and intelligent one. One small example of the type of moderator elsie was a time when someone posted a birthday thread for themself, upset that no one made one for them, so he merged a thread to make it look like the thread was made for them, to cheer her up and to be sweet.

fire_of_avalon

Firey firey foa is one of the more active and up front moderators these days among the fora (fora foa!) She's known as a very vivacious and funny woman, and she's incredibly fun to talk to in #eoff and especially in #tot (;D ;D). As a Cid's Knight, she's good at keeping people in line, especially in the Eyes On Each Other forum. She has a very strong personality that makes people flock to her and admire her.

Hsu

The first half of Hsubah, Hsu is a very technically savvy and helpful member. I always see him helping in the Help Forum, if he's not on #eoff chatting with his girlfriend and fellow CK, rubah. Hsu used to have a nipple pinching avatar that was stolen by some guy! All in all, Hsu is a very helpful guy.

kikimm

The usernote princess, kikimm seems to be very much behind the scenes moderation-wise, though I hear horror stories from my friends about how hateful and angry she is. But I think that's slander and lies, because kikimm seems very chilled and laid-back, especially from what I've seen from old forums made by Psychotic. Though she does supposedly have a few fetishes. Anyway, back to EoFF... I don't see her often upfront with her moderating, but this one time, she totally told off some member in the best way possible, and it was amazing.

Levian

One of the newest Cid's Knights, this crazy viking has definitely caught up to older CKs in moderating activity, between closing threads, editting posts, and fixing signatures. I'm sure no one expected his knighting, but it as an excellent choice, because he's one of the most effective Cid's Knights lately. And not only that, he's really funny and has the love of many members. He's one of the new generation of Cid Knight's.

[And this kind of has nothing to do with this award, but he's my teacher of Norwegian words. Thanks to Levian, I have the Norwegian vocabulary of a pornobaron (Norwegian for porn baron!) Squeee!]

Miriel

Miriel is also one of the newer Cid Knight's, knighted a little before Psychotic, a quite a bit before Levian, much to his dismay at Miriel always beating her at the internet! Miriel is an all around very efficient Cid's Knight who does the general menial CK work like editting posts and signatures and such. She manages to do that while balancing her wedding photography business and her hobby of loving puppies, cuddling Tony, and taking photos of their food. She seems to be the moral compass of the Cid Knights, and many people love her and appreciate her for that.

Necronopticous

Necronopticous is one of the more mysterious and low-key Cid's Knights, but he seems to be more of a relaxed live and let live moderator like RSL was when he was on staff. Necronopticous is an extraordinarily talented MS Paint artist and a kind person in general who has helped me out with my own art and photography. He is also very game savvy and helps people with video games as well. He's unusual in that he wears red nail polish painted on by some girl and that he has an affair from Marshall Banana with Kishi, but we all love him for that.

Psychotic

It's almost shocking to feel as if Psychotic has always been on the staff, because just a few years ago, he was the unofficial BAoTW leader, master spammer, and mortal enemy of Loony BoB, and look now! Now he's one of the more harder working and upfront Cid Knight's of the fora. That is, between posting in usernotes! His humor was definitely not lost during his transition from spammer to Cid's Knight, however, as you can clearly see in his posts, so many a member look up to him as their favorite CK.

rubah

The second half of Hsubah, rubah is one of the sweeter CK's and has amassed many friends and fans from #eoff. She works hard as a Cid's Knight, but she also works very hard as an artist, ranging from watercolor, dolling, and tablet art, among other things. She is the very affectionate girlfriend of Hsu, and with their powers combined, Hsubah is one of the CK couples.

Zeromus_X

The newest Cid's Knight! What sets him out is that he is one of the most pure moderators (I thought it was cute that he doesn't know Bley's Crotch <3 xD), so he has a very fresh moderating style. He works very hard at what he does as a moderator, and is very helpful in the Gaming Forum, which is where he was watched mostly and asked to be a Cid's Knight, supposedly. I think his very positive fresh posting style has attracted the support of many members.

It's hard to pick who to root for. *plays genesis roms*

I think all that reading blinded me for life.

Loony BoB Bless his heart. He tries his best, but we all know cl_out and Sam keep him around for show. He is a pretty fella, though! Aren’t you just precious. ;) (SPOILER)In reality, BoB does a lot of the same stuff cl_out and Sam do. But when I asked him about it, he couldn’t think of anything so I made all the above up.

Leeza Leeza is mama. She cleans up y’all’s messes,and are you even thankful for it? No. But she’ll always be there for you anyway. Leeza is highly involved with cleaning up threads and merging accounts when someone screws up and makes a new one. And she even believes you when you say you forgot your old password. Because she loves you.

ShlupQuack Courtesy mention! Shlup is like your spoiled baby sister. She does necessary things when it suits her, and she likes pink way, way, way too much. She’s also an awesome tattletale. But where would we be without her? Severely lacking a good kick in the seat of the pants.

Yamaneko Moocher cousin. Eats all your food, and is always in the big house relaxing. This is what he’s famous for, but I don’t actually know what he does (everytime we have a get together, smells kind of funny. Maybe it’s just me.)

Roogle Roo keeps us all entertained. He is the multitalented third cousin who you don’t really know is related to you, but is better than you at everything. He raps, he does tech stuff, and when the mood strikes him, he keeps us all in stitches.

Cid Cid is Big Daddy who keeps a roof over our heads. None of us would be here without him. Y’all keep that in mind.

Is this person active in the forums? Definitely.
Is this person well-liked? Probably one of the most popular members of all time.
Is this person dedicated and trustworthy? No doubt.

This member, my newbie CK buddy, was someone who I don't think any of us doubted would use his unique personality, humor and position within the community to bring a fresh new perspective to the Staff forum. And boy were we right! This person has been a great member of the EoFF community for a long time and now he has the distinction of being a great Staff member who has contributed buttloads through his efforts as a CK.

So the Forums Staff Highwind Award goes to... Psychotic!

Congratulations to Psycho Paul. I had no doubts that you would be a superb Cid's Knight, even before you were knighted. You are the bane of second accounts, and investigator extraordinaire. And I'll admit that I'm a little jealous of your lightening quick banning moves and super fast response times to warned posts.

kikimm - kikimm is awesome. Really. Maybe you don't know her that well, I don't know how many people she talks to a lot, but obviously enough to get her here. She is funny as hell and one of the best friends i've made from this place. Best female? Quite possibly.

Leeza - Always watching over the forum with the eyes of a Hawk, Leeza is a fierce force to be reckoned with, and keeps EoFF running like you wouldn't believe. But she's also a caring and lovely person. It's good many people can see that.

Resha - One of the smartest people I know, loads of fun and she can take a hell of a lot of stick. She's also crazy mad insane and always makes her friends smile when they need it. ARSENAL STILL SUCK THO

Rye - Also one of the funniest people I know, a madly talented singer, artist, photographer, whatever you can think of, she's probably good at it. Much loved by many people here, hopefully around for a long time.

foa is equal parts saucy, insightful, sardonic, and spicey, which is in itself a recipe for awesome.

kikimm: Although not as active as some of the other nominees, kikimm still manages to make a meaningful impact on the community. This lady-knight is good at what she does, and it shows.

A kind and helpful person, kikimm might not have the most to say, but what she says always has merit to the topic at hand. Be it serious or silly, kikimm’s posts radiate a special gold that only she can produce.

You’ll find said gold on eBay shortly, I’m sure.

Leeza: Where Leeza goes, green text and cats inevitably follow. Our resident female cat-loving admin has a strong dedication to making this forum a better place. Although some balk at her alleged “strictness”, most can agree that Leeza’s decisions are sound, fair, and reasonable.

Leeza’s become something of a fixture here at EoFF, many of us weren’t here before she was and can’t really fathom an EoFF without her. Whether it’s through her moderation or her apparent resolution to bring more cat smileys to our posts, Leeza always does a superior job, something nobody can dispute.

Resha: Resha possesses a strong, distinctive personality that seeps through in even the most simple of posts. An eloquent and opinionated lady, Resha has the notable and commendable tendency to post in complete sentences, something many members should take note of and strive to emulate.

Resha has a strong voice in each of her posts, and the kind of person she is is apparent for all to see. EoFF could not ask for a better poster.

Rye: Rye has accomplished the unthinkable. She’s managed to somehow date Raistlin and not end up on the staff’s blacklist.

Or has she?

Well, that noteworthy accomplishment aside, Rye’s presence on EoFF has been felt for quite some time. With more wit and charm that you can shake an old man’s stick at (not that he hasn’t tried); Rye makes her presence known through sheer force of character. With great graphic work and a distinct presence and personality, Rye just belongs at EoFF and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

ShlupQuack: Perhaps she is a man! But if that were the case, I wouldn’t have to be typing this up and thus I’d be saving time to do other things, like sleep. However, for the sake of convenience we’ll be assuming for the purpose of this exercise that she is, indeed, mostly female.

A recently returned admin, Shlup makes a name for herself with a personality that can best be described as slap in the face followed by a punch to the gut, several knees to areas best left unmentioned, and a succession of sucker punches that leave one sprawling. Best of all, this is all served with a smile! And evil, eeevil smile.

For awhile, EoFF was free from her dark clutches. But now, with the power firmly back in her grasp, Shlup can once again embark on a campaign of evil, destruction, and pink. A known detractor of anything that involves either Raistlin, The Man, or (God forbid) both, Shlup can be known to attack with posts so sharp they can pierce even the hardest, most cynical or unreasonable human heart from miles away, through the slowest dial-up connection and all within a few seconds.

And that’s why we love her.

Xander: Former CK, lover of pandas, and founder of the Kingdom Hearts Trinity, Xander is well-known and widely accepted as the one of EoFF’s bastions of cuteness. She literally oozes the stuff, but in her case, this is a good thing (As opposed to the alleged “cuteness” of other members, see Shlupquack’s disgusting pink stuff).

After resigning her position, Xander’s presence was sadly scarce on the forum, but her renewed posting has been a wonderfully revitalizing occasion for all of us who, deep down in our hearts, missed talking about pandas as if they actually mattered.

Which they do! I swear!

The people here make up everything that is great about our fora. Without these people in our community, EoFF would be less than its current stellar self. We have a slew of awesome members here at Eyes on Final Fantasy. For a few examples, I can name Leeza, Christmas, Resha, kikimm, and Xander. These are exemplary members, who add a lot to our community, whether it be in a moderating position, flat out good contribution to discussion, or in some other way that endears them to our hearts.

None of these examples matter at the moment, though, because this Ciddie is for the Best Male.

All of the earlier mentioned sappy and sentimental junk follows for the males of the fora as well. My attention is usually limited when it comes to guys, but apparently everyone else has noticed a few good men. The following gents have been nominated to be 2006's Ciddies Best Male, and each of them deserve a little blurb for making it this far.

DK, better known as Kyono, has been a long-time member here at Eyes on Final Fantasy. Known for his sense of humor and easy-going nature, Kyon contributes to EoFF in many ways. Kyon oversees the Eyes on You survey, works on the front site as a staffer, and even goes so far as to make signatures for people to use upon request. Beware, however, his crotch-thrusting avatar; it may poke an eye out!

Levian, often labeled as Psychotic's twin, never disappoints to entertain EoFFers with his antics both as a member of the fora and as a Cid's Knight. Responsible for making the best Final Fantasy VI thread ever, beating up Old Manus, and causing many a member to dress up a chocobo, Levian makes EoFF all the more bearable. Heck, as a Knight, he even sympathizes with you when he closes your thread. How can you not like the guy?

Loony BoB is almost synonymous with EoFF. I, myself, have never seen a day when he was not an administrator, getting his hands into everything. He keeps track of the chatroom's statistics, organizes competitions, goes around and drags up enthusiasm out of who know's where, and he just keeps going. To see EoFF without BoB would be to see a diminished EoFF, so you can tell that this guy counts as a part of it.

Psychotic, often labeled as Levian's twin, never disappoints to entertain EoFFers with his antics both as a member of the fora and as a Cid's Knight. Responsible for making BoB take second place in contests so many times, Psychotic makes EoFF all the more bearable. Heck, as a Knight, he even sympathizes with you when he closes your thread. How can you not like the guy?

Roto13 has gained attention as a new member, settling down and becoming a fixture in General Chat. He forks out usernotes like a gil farmer, earning a certain noteriety in that department, as well as being known as an argumentative factor in the Signature/Banner forum. Certainly a member that can go far, but will he be this year's Best Male?

The Captain is the incarnation of purity and goodness, always a light to shine on and help his fellow EoFFers. If we could get the charge to hold, we would charge The Captain of writing the rules of proper netiquette and mannerisms. Always ready to offer advice and politely give out his opinion, this man makes not only the fora as a whole a better place, but Eyes on Each Other, that disturbing section of town, safer to travel. All he asks is that all of you take care.

TrowaBartonIV ^_^, better known as Bert, has always been a welcome face on EoFF. Utterly contradictory, Bert is opinionated and considerate, he has both a heart of gold and a show dedicated to evil, and he would sell his car for gas money. What the heck? What a guy.

Vincent, Thunder God is new, having only come to EoFF in March of this year, but already by the end of his first year, he is up to vote for as Best Male on EoFF. It probably helps that he has a religion established around himself, and that he almost audaciously asks for more usernotes before putting in a small please, which is amusingly endearing. Making it this far in such a short time is truly a wonderful thing.

So, with so many awesome prospects for a winner, who will it be? I do not know; we will have to ask Award Guy for the results...
