I wonder what 'changes here'?

I'm going to guess Sephiroth - not sure if he was was guessed before....

"Changes here" isn't too important to the answer. Also, it doesn't have anything to do with Sephiroth.

Hint: The answer is not tangible

The only things that are 'not tangible' are spirits of sorts, my guess is the Lifestream.

It's not the Lifestream, and tangible means that it can be sensed by touch. The answer can not be touched.

Is there some boost you can use in battle but only on yourself? To make you stronger?

Could it be Fury Brand?

It's not Fury Brand, and, FieryTempest, you're not on the right track.
