smoking ban

Well, i live with parents who smoke, so it's no stranger to me. Of course, i dont like being around it, and it often times makes me fell sick, but i have gotten used to it.

I can understand why people would want to ban it, due to the health risks, but i can aslo understand why business owners would protest it, due to the drop in business.

So, even though i hate being around smoke, and i hate being around smokers, they have every right to allow smoking in bars & such.

I guess the only way to solve this problem would be to:

A: Ban smoking (yeah right)

or

B: Get everyone (or almost everyone) to quit smoking. Although thats damn near impossible.

I'm all for it. When I go to restaurants with my 12 year old brother, I tend to want to eat and not have to smell smoke from people who can't seem to find the patience to wait an hour or two for their precious carcinostick.

What I don't understand is why do so many people still continue their bad habit despite massively scattered warnings in the media and from adept speakers. "Government Warning: Cigarette smoking is dangerous to your health."

i started on weed and started smoking tobacco when weed was unavailable. most start because a) they want to be cool or b) because of pier pressure. both are obviously childish ways but the reason is unimportant.

(now tell me why it is important because thats how we can stop it! exept you never will stop it)

One cigarette is enough to realize that tobacco is pointless. "I guess I'm going to blow smoke out of stick! Yeah, that sounds fun!" I mean seriously, wtf?

Cigarettes weren't really considered bad until the late 80s - early 90s.

But still, the fact remains that smoking cigarettes makes no sense. It's basically blowing smoke out of a stick. It doesn't make sense.

I don't have a problem with anyone who smokes, I just don't understand why they do.

I detest smoking.

I also protest this ban for all it is worth. Which, I suppose, actually means zero protesting.
