I just saw metal gear crisis 1.2 on Newgrounds, its pretty good, there is a link to it in legendary frogs site, which is in my sig
I'm sure that in 1987, Metal Gear's plot was nothing short of stunning. If not for the drama, then for the bits out of Kojima's eccentric psyche, like the fact that Jennifer won't respond to your radio unless you have a four-star rank, the times when you call Diana and instead get her brother Steve ("This is Steve... Diane? You again! Stop coming on to Diane!"), Big Boss's "post-modern before post-modern was cool" order to TURN OFF THE MSX, and of course, the fact that equipping cigarettes makes the self-destruct timer at the end of the game give you more time.
There arnt voices on the originals are there?
Ok, fine, I'll give you the MSX MG, but MG on the NES and MG2 were...lacking.
Of course there are, all console games in '80s had voices.Quote:

Congratulations for answering your own question, it's quite a useful talent.
didn't final fantasy have voices?
mg2 was never released on the nes. that was snake's revenge and was absolute crap.
MG2 had even more of that stuff, though! Having to listen and actually use Tap Codes in order to get a frequency, equipping the right kind of ration to appeal to a pigeon's appetite in order to get the note it was carrying, being able to catch a cold, sneaking into a women's bathroom in order to rendezvous with an ally, using an owl's hoot to trick a guard into thinking night was coming (as little sense as it made), using the chocolate contained in another kind of ration to dissolve toxic puddles, the boss fight where the enemy is invisible and the only way to spot him is to listen to the sound of his footsteps and figure out what surface he's standing on, taking advantage of the temperatures in a sauna and in a refrigerated food storage room to change the shape-memory alloy in a certain item, being able to use a recording of the soldiers' national anthem to make them stand at attention, and yes, being left without any equipment for the final battle and having to assemble a makeshift flamethrower out of a lighter and an aerosol can.
