My guess is that it's the Negative Zone from SMB2. Just a thought though. Wouldn't explain it's effects, but it'd account for the name.

I spoil myself but I just gave in and watched the whole of the subspace emissary.

Actually i heard somwhere that luigis trophy explains his FS. It sames somthing along the lines of the negative zone adhering to luigi being over shadowed all the time. This creates this negative energy and is built up to use on his foes.

Thats just what i heard though :p

Yup luigi,s mansion looks like a cool stage but a little uninventive. Oh well Im sure it will be cool none the less.

Britney should not be in Brawl. Mr. Bean and Bill Cosby deserve it a lot more than she does.

I'm glad they confirmed the Ice Climbers' advanced special techniques being in (like the Squall Hammer recovery and the one sided Blizzard with both Ice Climbers). If only they kept Marth's Dancing Blade recovery though...

Ha ha ha nice.

On Brawl Central I found a video that shows everyone's running speed. The character speeds weren't what I was expecting.
