I think its some sort of outer space potato man religon :p
I... don't know what to say.
Totally a Buddhist Church.
I always used to wonder about that!
Anyway, I think it's a church predating the events in the game; it used to be a Christian church until everyone learned about the lifestream and whatnot. Then Midgar was built around that church.
That's ridiculous.
When I first played the game I immediately assumed it was Christian.
I'm not entirely sure now.
It's a stereotypical archetype of a church, used to build atmosphere and introduce you to a main character.
Jewish.
Cetranity.
FF Sevenism.
The Church of Scientology.
Church of the Cetra? :}
Its not a church.
Its Aeris' "Coffee Shop". (The type you'd see in Amsterdam).
She is a Flower Girl, after all. ;)
Hmm, good question, though I never really thought about it. I did wonder what a Christian-looking church (architecturally, it looks like the church I used to go past on the bus when I lived in South East London) was doing in a Japanese video game (where Christianity is a minority religion), so like Yliette I assumed it was a Christian church, but since it was disused and in disrepair, nobody used it. However Aeris believed it was a 'holy' place, so maybe it is a building left over from the Cetra days, which is no longer used by the general population.
BTW, Buddhism and Judaism refer to their places as 'temples'. Only factions of Christanity, and relatively new religions (e.g. Scientology) refer to their places of worship as a church. :p At least I think so... :confused:
It is clearly a church for "Jenova Witnesses".
