What do you say when a person has a coughing fit then? :O

I ponder this a lot myself, because I want to wish them the same kind of thing, but both examples brought up are intrinsically associated with sneezing. Fortunately with some people you can't tell their cough from their sneeze anyways.

Usually, if a person coughs once, I don't tend to recognize it. If they have a coughing fit, I usually say 'Are you okay?', and if the person says yes, I don't worry about anything afterward. :D

I ignore them and try to divert the attention AWAY from them if I can. It's never fun to have EVERYONE looking at you when you have a coughing fit ><

Just a standard "Bless you" for a sneeze, nothing for a single cough. If they have a coughing fit, I encourage them to stop smoking.

My dad has coughing fits all the time, so I'll either tell him to shut up or just frown or something.

If they sneeze I don't say anything, but if they go all coughing fit I ask if they're okay :(

I do too! I'm nice offline. I mean, not "give to charity" nice, but I don't go around laughing at misfortune either. :aimmad:

I say 'bless you' if anyone sneezes and if someones coughs I say nothing! :)

My Dad has sinus problems and is ALWAYS SNEEZING. It drives me up the wall, seriously.

I've pondered this many times myself, but I usually just say "prosit", which is the Danish equivalent of "bless you/gesundheit".. Either that or "host", which means "cough"...
