It should be noted that I did actually smell my hands and my girlfriend noticed this and has been giving me a look of bewilderment and disgust. Thanks for making me look weird.

Soap, more than likely. Mostly down to the constant need to wash hands when you deal with moving around as much I.T. kit as I do.
