Well, considering I only voted gameplay as FFVI's weakness, because I don't think it has any significantly weak categories, whereas I actually dislike FFXII's gameplay (even though it isn't the weakest category to me), this is a pretty easy choice.
In almost any other category, it would have been close, but in gameplay? FFXII all the way.
Yeah, my two favorite numbered FFs pitted against each other would normally be very difficult, but in terms of gameplay XII has VI beat
Whew, the SNES games having a tough time in this round, huh :p
Yeah, FFXII absolutely wins this for me.
I can't say I expected FF VI to be executed quite like this.
This thing is rigged!
Well everything has strengths and weaknesses, but to deliberately put a biggest strength against a biggest weakness, seems kind of fishy. That's like putting a tiger up against a shark in the "best swimmer" category. :p
Also holy trout I just realized you put my video as the FFXII gameplay example <3 lol
The contest was getting too predictable.

Yeah, weakest category or not, FFVI still has better gameplay. I got so bored playing FFXII that I left off in the middle and forgot about it for two years. And it wasn't the characters or story, both were great. The random loot chests, the automated combat, the not-as-good-as-sphere-grid license board, the somewhat tedious mark hunts, it was all fun at first but there wasn't much more to it as you progressed onward. FFVI at least saved espers for when you were a good chunk through the game and even then they were very limited. So there was something to keep going for. Also I liked how each character had a unique ability, some like Blitz, Rage, Dance, were really innovative. Also, finding your team in the WOR and letting you choose what order you do it in, groundbreaking! This was an open world RPG decades before every RPG tried to be that.
