I hate Microsoft, sooooo I vote for the PS-3.

From a technical standpoint, they are both great. Both will have popular game libraries and fans.

Sony has had two past successes... Microsoft just plain failed. So I vote PS3.

Not denying that the PS2 and PSX sold well; however, from a hardware standpoint, the PS2 failed badly.

PS3 only because the fact that it has Devil May Cry 4.
X-Box 360 because it has FF XI in amazing graphics.

i haven't played any of them ( they haven't even come out yet) but i like the ps2 so ps3 would generally follow up on it...
