Does any one?

Does any one really use the gf's?
throw ought my latest game i problly only used gf's 20 times or less i only used doomtrain for the meltdown effect and ceribus for the triple or i would pull them out if i knew a big attack was comeing like mega flare or something so they would die! do you guys really use them to help win battles? i guess i just had really good junctions and never needed them!

I've not summoned a GF since my first game back in 1999, and even then it was only Shiva against Ifrit in the Fire Cavern. I only need the GFs to learn abilities and provide junction opportunities.

occasionally i pull one out just to watch its awesomeness. i never get tired of seeing diablos or ifrit

In the beginning I used them a lot but as the game went on your junctions really boosted you enough to the point where you could pretty much take everyone on with stregth, and of course limit breaks. Yeah, Doomtrain was pretty much the only useful one throughout' GFs contributed a lot more with their abilities than use in battle.

The only one I use is Cerberus. And even then I don't use him often. But as someone said before me I sometimes use them just to see their awsomeness.

i've been using GFs much less each time i play Final Fantasy VIII. they are just good enough now to borrow me some time...

You mean summon them? I try not to (except supportive ones) because I don't want to rely on them too much, especially when it comes to fighting "it." Well, I summon Cactuar a lot, he's my favorite.

But seriously i never summoned GFs except for Cerebus for the tripple and double effect.

The only summons I ever use are Cactuar and Cerberus. Even so, I rarely ever use them.

I summon and junction them all the time. Doesnt matter if Im at the start, middle or end, Ive always used them.

Yeah, I only summon Cactuar and Cerberus too. Cactuar just cause he smurfing rocks, and Cerberus because he's actually useful.

The first time I played through, though, damn. I had to start over cause I used the GFs so much, and so I was really weak.

i dont think i ever used them much even when i first started. why do you guys use them? thye dont do much damage. well at least compaired to my charecters they never did diddly cuz i always had good magic juntctioned to str.

I don't use GFs either, too much trouble when I can kick their arses myself. I do summon Eden once in awhile, Eden is my favorite. That GF can do some damage, but not much compared to Lionheart.

I am also currently in the middle of the No Junction Challange. So far I have gotten to just before the party sets out to Timber for the first time, without using or junctioning GFs...which means no items during battle either. GFs are pretty useless once you get good magic to junction.

FF VIII was the 1st FF game i got and used them alot to help me when i started playing it, but as soon as i figured out the junctioning system i havent used them once.

my favorite trick is to keep Squall's life around 3000 (when his junctioned to 9999) which you can do quite early on and keep useing his Renzokuken.
