Good album. The second side is sort of weak. I much rather prefer Ommadawn. The world music infleunce appeals more to my taste in music.
Very cool and creepy at the same time. I love it....:)
QFT. My grandad has it as his ringtone, he never knew it was from the Exorcist!Quote:

I remember it being on one of those "blank moods" cd's back in the mid 90's. Crazy.
Mike Oldfield's work is amazing. And I question his sanity at some points. He actually recorded all of the instrumentation for... I think it was the Tubular Bells album. He burned through like five tapes of having to replay all of it and synchronize it correctly.
That reminds me, I need to "borrow" Songs from Distant Planets from my father and rip it onto my computer again. Good stuff, good stuff.
Yeah, he did everything on Tubular Bells.
I really enjoy that album
It's one of my favourite songs. I always thought it was from Hallowean though.
My parents have it on vinyl. It appears to be all one song and takes 2 sides of a LP.
My dad has a few casette tapes of Mike Oldfield, I can't remember which songs were on it though.. It's funny, cause I never knew he liked that sort of stuff. What also amazed me was that he had old Jean Michell Jarre casettes. My dad sure is weird.
Oh yeah, I've got turbular bells as MP3 on my stationary, but I haven't listened to that in over a year, cause I can't be arsed to fix it.
I LOVE it it really relaxes me.
I HATE how people keep asociating it with the Exorsit though as it was made before it, And Mike Ofiled (Sp) never wanted it to be part of the film anyway!!!
I had it on my MP3 player, but there was a long pause at the end of the song before it, so I was walking home in the dark one night and as I turned the corner, the song just starts playing out of nowhere, and since my earphones were hanging around my neck, I could only hear it faintly, and so it ended up getting me VERY paranoid as I walked through these dark alleyways to get home. :(
the song creeps me out. although, it was just Excorcist: The Beginning that really makes the hair on my arm stand on ends. perhaps the Halloween theme-song is a lot more frightening. then again, it can be a nice song when if i would just consider it to be a wonderful work of music. i can think of different types of tubular bells played in Buddhist temples, not as a gesture of fright.
Moonlight Shadow!!!!
