Oh my god.

I've played this game three times, and I never knew you could use freaking Tents in battle.
What new things have you discovered while playing Final Fantasy IX again? It seems like I find something new every time I play it.
-
I discovered a lot of cool tricks such as the tent status effects when I played through my level 1 ozma challenge. What intrigues me most about this video is the names he's given the characters. Renfro? Come on, man.
-
I only recently discovered that you can use healing magic outside of battle eg. Curaga. Thats pretty scary.
-
-
 all this time and I never knew.
-
Tents are also effective to use on enemies to induce various status effects.
-
Does it ever tell you this in the game itself? 0_o;

I remember one of my friends telling me using a tent on Deathguise made him a lot easier to defeat. I did it, and I don't recall exactly what effects it caused, but it certainly was beneficial. I can't think of that many tricks I learned in the game; nothing really surprising. Quina's magic hammer ability was either really awesome or entirely useless depending on how much damage it did.
-
I never knew that either, but why do you get bad status thingy if you use a tent on yourself?
-
Cause you just wake up. I mean natually when you wake up you have like 4 or 5 status effects naturally. Half blindness, half sleepness, slow, and the huge urge to pee, which leads to poison damage over time.
-
Oh my :jess: How could I not know about this! That's pretty neat. xD
Let's see... I remember discovering you could target your whole team or all enemies with magic, but nothing special in that. That did lead to me putting auto-reflect on everybody and having Vivi cast -aga spells on all four of my party members and bouncing it back, which was fun.
Edit: "Jacobin" lol. That's worse than my brother naming Vivi "Oreo"...arguably.
-
Ironically enough, we already have this topic. Linkage.
Unless the topic is the tent thing, in which case--wtf? Darkness/Poison/Silence Snake?
-
I didn't find out about being able to use a Tent in battle until I got Internet access and read about it.
On my last playthrough of FFIX, I discovered the hidden treasure chest behind the old women in Dali, and the Moogle costume in Lindblum. But the best was discovering Daguerreo about six months after first completing the game.

Yeah, it took me a while to learn I could use tents in battle, too. It's cheaper than using an ether to restore MP.
