European PS3 release date confirmed - March 23rd

So its been announced. Not particulary surprising but at least it is the definite day PS3's will be on shelves down my road. I probably wont buy one right away, I dont even have half the amount of money I need. I guess the good coming from this delay is that the launch line-up is great. Im gagging for Virtua Fighter 5, and seeing as its a launch title, its going to be even harder for me to resist buying one. Hopefully someone I know will buy one, so I can rob their PS3 for a day or two to at least know what its like.

I think Tekken 5 DR will be properly downloadable on day 1 for you guys as well. I skimmed through a list earlier, the delay was definitely able to bring a bigger lineup.

I'll wait for MGS4 to come out b4 buying one, $1200 is a bit too much at the moment

I heard that the UK release price is £425 and they're only releasing the 60GB model.

You heard right. Although Im disappointed the 30GB model isnt available. Its not like the 360, the core model didnt have a hard drive at all, the PS3 core model still has 30GB's. 30GB's is enough for some people. It would of been for me.

I thought it was 20GB for the core model?

I'm looking very much forward to its release - I'm not sure when I'll buy one, though.

By the way, where do you find a list of the launch titles for the European release (the downloadable games as well)?

I actually kept going because I thought that there would be an attack of somekind. I am, without provication, pleasantly surprised.

Insane price + Only one game I'd want (Oblivion, and that has been released on other platforms) = not getting one yet.

None of the launch titles interest me. I already have NFS Carbon on PS2 and Formula One Championship Edition is just F12006 on PS2 with done up graphics.

I'm going to wait on this. Sony's not taking $999 from me.

Eh... that doesn't really matter. Most of the games will have already been out where you live by time the EuroPS3 comes out.

It would be different if Heavenly Sword (made by a european company) were on that list, I think it's supposed to come out in Europe first. Just not at launch, I guess.

Virtua Fighter is still the best 'Only On PS3' game there. I think I will get it.
