It's true. Look at it.

He looks like the father of communism. at the end of every stage, he takes down the flag present, and throws up a flag with the red star of communism on it, he's a plumber, a person of common job, not anyone of real 'importance' ie) a king, or a duke, etc.
His goal is to take out King Koopa (whose name was later changed to Bowser): Dethroning the monarchy.
He's also looking for princess toadstool (Peach), we just assume that he's there to rescue her, he may want her to do some ungodly, unspeakable things to her.
Eh? EH!!?

I've considered this notion for quite an extensive period of time, however after such a long deliberation I've concluded that the only Marxist ideal intact is the glorification of the worker/proletariat class.
