Due to my Internet addiction I haven't been spending as much time with my beloved PS2. Don't listen to sillies, and just look up a guide on how to realign the laser pickup lens. That's usually what's wrong with PS2s that break. It's not hard, you just need to be careful. And besides, you've got nothing to lose, except the little time it would take you to try doing it. It can't get worse than not working, right?
i'd probably buy the slim version, but it still works fine.
Pray that it makes it safely to Silicon Heaven.
Then pull it to bits and mod a mac mini into it or something.
