Multiple browser windows/browser tabs + refresh?
Oh yeah i guess so....i just prefer not to have many browser windows open...Thanks
haha thanks...so much yet to discover...
You could subscribe to the threads, so that you get an e-mail when someone else posts in them. At least, I think that's what thread subscription does.
At the top of a thread, under 'thread tools' click thread subscription.
Nevah.
That link leads to a pornosite with automatically installing viruses, ad-ware and illegal download programs that send you directly to prison!!! Go here instead:

Tabbed browsing supreme.:p
We need an instaban policy for promoting internet explorer.
It's just too cool for you Roto. Admit it.:roll:
Yeah i was looking for some sort of subscription thing to like tell me when new posts are written but if its too much trouble then ill just carry on the way i am now...Thanks :D
Yes, my Stumble Upon, torrent finder, adblock, download managers, video downloader and McAffee site adviser are no match for your increased risk by using a browser that is embedded in your OS. xP
It's not much trouble, really. When you reply to a thread, checkout the "Thread Subscription" text box below the posting field.
Way to ignore my post :(
:'(
*bans you all for not being Dr Unne*?
*puts on his shiny armour bearing the arms of Internet Explorer 7*
Thy hath hurt the Lady. Aaaaaaarg! :fencing:
Been using IE since... 1998, the year when I actually started to seriously browse the net. Never had any problems or complains about it. A good external guard and a set of third party applications, written in C++, work much faster than the Foxy Abominations. And then there is the great new layout which Microsoft stole from Firefox 1.:D
Surely the superior security of Firefox is reason enough to use it? :p
When I'm skipping between forums, I first open all the threads I want to in new tabs, then I use the breadcrumb links at the top to jump to another forum, where I repeat as necessary.
Which works just as fine with IE7.:love:
I've had a total of 2 security breaches in a decade, both of which were still on a Win 98 unprotected system. Security has proven to be very decent with IE in my case.:tongue:
I did consider switching to Firefox because of the better navigation back in 2005, but after they've included the tabs and the search bar in the new IE, the wish faded.
There's always the 'lol you have to run at least xp sp2' aspect of IE7 to contend with.
Also it's like two and a half times the size to download!
And its incapability to deal with CSS in quite as an acceptable manner as Firefox (or most other browsers). :p
And of course the whole "if you run Windows you run IE whether you like it or not" thing. :{
And if you want a new post notification for every thread that you have posted in, you can also go to your User CP > Edit Options > and choose Instant email notification for your Default Thread Subscription Mode.Quote:

I just have it set so that every thread I reply to I automatically subscribe to. I used to use instant e-mail notification but that got annoying, so all I do is just go to my subscribe threads when I want to see any new posts in said threads.
Trying out the thread subcription...:D
About 6 years ago, email subscription used to be turned on by default when you posted in a thread. I didn't know that, so I ended up with altogether too many emails in my inbox to tell me a post was made in a thread which I posted in but probably don't remember making because it was one out of lots.
Email subscription is bad. :{
Livejournal has a system that will IM you when you have new comments etc.
It's IM you? I just get emails. (which are fine with me, as I always have my gmail account open in a tab. In Firefox.)
You have to be logged into their jabber network, but yeah.

They've brought back Birthday reminders on LJ too *dances*
