YouTube - Knights of cydonia
i counter with this
YouTube - Thriller - Michael Jackson, 1983
I'd have to say Exodus - The Toxic Waltz.
Can't Stop and Dani California are also pretty rad. Also, I gotta throw in What Goes Around. And the REM one where they're standing on cars.
I'm a peppers fan. :D
I remember seeing this at the Hard Rock Cafe once.
I don't really have a favorite music video. I've seen them once a month on MTV and it's all alternative and hip hop. And I don't feel like searching Youtube.
BTW, why does the dude jump into the cake to get out of the rain in the November Rain video?
For me it's between Hurt - Johnny Cash, Symphony of Destruction - Megadeth, Moto Psycho - Megadeth and A Tout Le Monde (Set Me Free) - Megadeth
Right now, it's this. Silversun Pickups! I don't know why I like it so much, it's not very exciting or anything.
All time favourite would have to be Nine Inch Nails' Closer, though.
The Chili Peppers vids are usually creative and amusing to watch, but another good un is The Chicken Song XD
Wow! I agree WK! And so does this gal

Though I will concure that "Thriller" is an amazing video. I feel it's a timeless piece of video history and is exempt cause it will almost always be the "greatest video ever". But come on... a kung fu fighting cowboy with a laser pistol fighting crime in a post apolcalyptic future with robots and visions of valkyries on unicorns, all done to a song that sounds like it came out of the most hardcore of spaghetti westerns... what's not to love:love:
Actually, I found one. Yay Mustaine.
Weird Al Yankovic - Amish Paradise for the win.
I have a couple:
Good Shirt - Blowing Dirt. This was a one-take video of the band un-smashing up a car. They recorded them smashing it, and played it in reverse so that the car gets better as the video progresses. Since it was low budget the singer learned to sing the entire song backwards so that it looks like he's singing normally in the clip.
Primus - Wynona's Big Brown Beaver. This video clip is filled with latex cowboy costumes. I've never seen anything quite like it.
My Picks
Return to Innocence Enigma
I always get chills watching this video. An elderly man dies and the entire video is his life, in reverse. From his death to his birth, and all the milestones and daily tediums in between. It's absolutely beautiful and haunting, the music is awesome as well.
Boys of SummerDon Henly
Great song but the video is class as the lyrics and images bring back memories of my own teenage years (note: recently turned 30). Its got a melancholy "Summer of 69" feel that is performed by one of the legends of rock.
Right NowVan Halen
Classic video that manages to be both touching, irreverent, and poignant. The song rocks pretty hard too.
Sabotage
Beastie Boys
I just love how this video looks like the intro for a cool seventies style cops n robbers TV show.
Thriller
Michael Jackson
This video used to make me cry as a child. Now it's just classic. Great cheesy atmosphere, killer dance moves, Vincent Price, and Michael at his coolest.
Seconded.
Although not the greatest music video ever, this one certainly makes me giggle.
Here's another one from Good Shirt:
Good Shirt - Sophie. In this one-take clip the band are emptying out an apartment while the owner sits on her couch with headphones on (singing the song) and doesn't notice all of her stuff being taken.
It doesn't look that amazing on the surface, but then you realize that the video is played faster than it was recorded so that they could actually get everything out in the 3:45 that the song plays for. The girl looks like she's singing in normal time though, so she had to sing really slowly for the video.
Smack my bitch up - The Prodigy
I think its great mainly because of the ending.
I'd post a video, but its inappropriate, however it can be watched on YouTube.
