What purpose does the buddy list serve here on EoFF?

Just documents to retrieve on another computer with a printer (usually at the library).
I don't buddy anyone. I do, however, have a number of people on my ignore list.
If I were able to ignore myself, I would, but EoFF/vBulletin won't allow it...
