What is your assigned summer reading list? I'm interested, because summer reading tickles me.
I have to read 5 books this summer for AP English.
Song of Solomon - Toni Morrison (Currently reading)
All My Sons - Arthur Miller
Brave New World - Aldous Huxley (I read that one first, great book)
The Pickup - Nadine Gordimer
King Richard III - Shakespeare
I'm planning on going on a Steinbeck rampage (read Cannery Row and Mice and Men a few months back and loved them) and rereading LoTR. I have been steeling myself to read through ALL of Aragorn's ballads. It will be very dull, but I think I should.
I'm also rereading HP again because I'm drawing lots of HP stuffs at the mo.
I assigned myself a few Tim Rogers reviews I never got around to reading.
I don't have a summer reading list, but good luck with AP English.
Someone give me one, please.

Among others. I figure it's about time I finished reading LotR. I tried reading it ages ago, but it was difficult to get through the book; I'm perfectly fine rereading novels, but to go through something for the first time knowing everything that's going to happen is difficult. My friend who spoiled it is a jerk, and I'm an idiot for listening anyway.
There's a couple other books I intend to read (such as The Chicago Manual of Style, but those aren't on my immediate concerns list. I'm also considering finishing On Bull:skull::skull::skull::skull: which is really about the concept of bull:skull::skull::skull::skull:, as studied by a Harvard professor.

The Scarlet Letter is all we were actually assigned (which I've decided to procrastinate the hell out of, because from what I hear it's terrible), but we're supposed to have read at least 10 books on a provided list of about 20. And since I've already read 15 of them, I'm not going above and beyond the call of duty to read the other 5. I'm trying to read most of Charles Dickens' works this summer just for enjoyment. So far I've read Hard Times, Bleak House, and Oliver Twist. Hard Times was byfar the best.
We don't get a list...

Just recently, I re-discovered how much I love reading. I haven't read as a hobby since 2nd grade. Right now I'm catching up on the Harry Potter series (5th, which is my favorite so far) and I'm reading Memoirs of a Geisha.
I loved Memoirs of a Geisha. :]
I'm thoroughly enjoying it. :)

I like the dog book.
I disliked the dog book and I liked The Scarlet Letter.
I don't have assigned summer reading this year, but the summer before I took AP English I had to read Jane Eyre and Wide Sargasso Sea. WSS is kind of a different take on JE and was pretty interesting, but JE itself was really, really boring (at least to me...every other girl I know who's read it loves it).
