August Is Retro Month

That's right, Retro Month. I may or may not have just made that up, but that's irrelevant. For quite awhile I've been itching for an excuse to see some old-school avatars that haven't been around for years. And this seemed like a fun way to make it happen.

The idea is pretty simple: find the oldest avatar (or sig, or combo, or whatever) you ever used on EoFF and switch to it for the month of August. Or just for a couple weeks if you get tired of it, who cares.

It'll be an interesting look for the forum, and we can make fun of each other for having noobtastic avatars. And, uh, the winner is the person with the oldest avatar. Or something. And if you have been using the same one for seven years, you are a loser and I disqualify you.

Come on people. Dig through those ancient folders and find me a dusty, tiny 60x60 picture you haven't seen in years.

Thought August was "STFU AND GTFO" month.

My original sig was something like:

What is it with FF main characters scratching their heads and looking at the floor?

FFs completed: VII, VIII, IX. Works in progress: V, X.

It would just be a lie if I posted it now.

I just changed my avatar and signature to something new, but I'm game.

This is as old as I can find. I wish I knew what happened to my Kuja theme combo.

Back to Osaka?...or was it Jade? Did I ever use Jade here?

I didn't think I still had my old signature advertising my long-dead site, but I do. Glorious.

I think we should do this during September. My August sig is too good to be replaced with my very first sig.

My first avy was the first Squall of my profile pic (when I'll find it, I'll change it:D)...and my sig was "Where's my sig???:eek:"!

I cannot find my first avatar. It was a picture of Squall and his sword. I remember that bit since a lot of people thought I was a guy because of it. The next best thing is a Rinoa avatar that I think I still have.

I don't think I had a sig until I started the purple trend that I had.

My old sig was the "You are Seifer" from fffan.com, captioned with "This surprised me d00d"

I don't want that as my sig. Avatar's always been the same apart from a brief period as a "No Black Mages" roadsign.

Psh, like I remember. I think the sig was Vincent Valentine or something. Whatever, let's go with this. It's pretty old.

Someone remembers my first avatar? I still have the sig, but I only remember a gif avatar, but not the first ó.ò... Maybe it was the original, but I don't remember where to find it.

I have no idea what my oldest avatar was, but I'm pretty sure this was my second ever signature on EoFF. It was removed for being too big :-(

My first was just a word in some blue text, but I can't remember what the word was :p Oh darns.

My memory's a bit fuzzy, but I'm pretty sure this is the avatar I used when I "rejoined" about four years back. I can't remember what sig I had, probably nothing. For authenticity I've even gotten rid of my custom user title :cool:

Had some silly Vivi set before this under my first screen name, The Black Mage. Yes, I am indeed the lord of originality. But yeah, this was my first set as Levia, and also the first I stuck with for a while. Avatar made entirely by me, and sig made by stupid baloki poop eater.

Oldest signature I can find of mine is probably only from about 2004 which isn't terribly old. Think that's the oldest one I still have, courtesy of my friend Zoe's signature making skills:

I think this was my first avatar. Any older ones will have long since disappeared, anyway.

According to the Wayback Machine, this is the oldest sig and avatar set I have, oh hell I'll fix my profile to match as well :D!

The lack of chocobo7 avatars makes me sad, because it means that members who registered before about September 2000 either aren't posting or aren't complying.

EDIT: Reverted my sig to the first one I used.

ive managed to find my old Final-Andy stuff, but i couldnt find my blue sig to go with the blue avi, or my purple avi to go with my blue sig :rolleyes2

I have no idea what my first sig was. I was never huge on sigs but I only remember my rikku one, a topph one, one where I said I was HIV negative and my current one. If anyone remembers PM me. But you guys hardly even know me....

This is about as retro as it's going to get with me. I can't find my Zeromus avatar anywhere.

It's sad that I have all my old sigs and avatars. I'm not using them though.

Can't find any of my Braska's Final Aeon stuff so it's not really worth it.

My old stuff (way back when I was Twilight Paladin) is on my mom's computer right now. I'll change it tomorrow.

I knew it was a good idea to keep my old sigantures and avatars. I have an older avatar but I hate it now, so I slam dunked that one in the rubbish bin.

Unfortunetly my oldest one is my current one so I changed it to lekanas drawing of me. :)
