What do you call your carbonated drinks?
I just call them coke. :greenie:
I call them soda, like normal people.
Wait, this thread has soo happened before...
But yeah, soda is american for anything fizzy, pop is retard language, coke is coke.
Fizzy is what I use for carbonated drinks, but usually depends on what drink it is :P
Lemonade is Lemonade, Coke is Coke, lilt is lilt etc
Depends on the drink. If it's Sprite, I call it Sprite. If it's Dr. Pepper, I call it Dr. Pepper. If it's Pepsi, etc.
This discussion (previously in the guise of a poll) is around almost every time I remember to post here.
I don't have a specific name for them. Soft drinks if anything. Otherwise everything goes by its own name.
It's a controversial debate, that's why.
Soda or Pop, depends on the drink, but since I prefer Pepsi, I call it soda pop.
I usually just refer to it by it's brand name, and if it is some store brand, I'll just call it the proper name of it's type, like cola, lemon-lime, etc.
I dislike calling it pop, and think that word is odd in that context for some reason.
The only thing allowed to be called 'Coke' is COCA BLOODY COLA. Pepsi too, maybe, as they're practically identical.
>;o
It's pop, or fizzy pop. Not Sodaaaah.
It's 'soda pop' if you're in the Fifties, and most weekends, I am...
It's usually fizzy drinks for me, generically.
Whatever it says on the label.
i just call them by their name.
I say "I'm going to get a soda"...
normally because I have a vast majority of soda's at my disposal and what ever I grab I prolly don't expect.
'cept right now, I only have sprite and that makes me very sad. :(
Fizzy ____
or I use the official name
Soda...Soda....Soda, and what will you have Stanley?
Yea, I say Soda, or Pop, or Coke. Just whatever the first thing comes out of my mouth, changes all the time.
Pop. It's a syllable shorter than soda and a letter shorter than soda or coke. Whether you're typing or talking it's an all-around win for lazy people.
If I had to choose then I'd call it soda
I call it Brus.
Everyone Votes says it best:

Coke is a product not a description.
Cocaine
Seeing as how the American population annihilates the UK, S-O-D-A wins.
I call all kinds of carbonated beverages coke because I do. I need no justification for doing so. I say "get me a coke", someone asks "what kind", I say "Dr. Pepper".
I can stand to hear soda. Anyone saying pop doesn't deserve a tongue.
No Sodas or Cokes...just Cola!
"Refresco" :mog:
I'm already waaay ahead of you.
Also, the term "pop" first came into use when bottled pop was developed; people started calling it "pop" because of the "POP!" sound that it made when you opened it. I have yet to open a bottle or can of pop that screams "SODA!" at me.
That's why "pop" is better IMO, where's your argument?
They are just cokes unless I want to specify a kind of coke.
(see what I did there?)
I think calling them "soft drinks" here is pretty common too, aswell as 'Pop'. I don't know why it's called pop, it just is.
Why is this thread not a poll?
Soda.
Refreshments.
I call soda soda and I call The Fonz a slut, for good measure.
Again?! I've seen this thread AT LEAST 5 times since I registered here! xD.
And it is still soda. [:
I call it pop. Saves me a syllable from "soda" and isn't as specific as "coke" (Beause as far as I'm concerned, Coke = Coca Cola).
Either that or its label name.
Soft drinks / fizzy.
