Yeah, just because they bragged about how the guy is homophobic and mornic doesn't equal the game being bad. Every FF game always have one bad character due to your dislikement, so it's invailded to call the game bad by relying on one bad character that you don't like. :mad:Quote:

I was one of the few people who actually enjoyed the junction/draw system, for I have the patience of a saint, but I can see where he's coming from. It's on a par with this, which I really like.
Also, why is Freddie Mercury holding a gunblade on Part 1 of the video, at approx. 6.41? :p

Yeah, it was pretty funny and some of the stuff I agree with him about (such as drawing magic for hours on end), but it's still my favourite FF. The guy should finish it off.

Funny review indeed, but it wont change the fact that FFVIII is still one of my favourite games.
He takes whats bad and obviously annoying about the game, and makes his review around it. Just like the angry nintendo nerd.
I dont know whether or not this was made prior or after the release of AVGNs videos, or of it was inspired by it at all, but it shares some of the same elements.
You just gotta take the video for what it is, and enjoy it.
I did, but I dont think any less of FFVIII couse of it.
I don't hate FFVIII, but I don't love it, either. Still, all in all, anybody who thinks this is unfunny is a liar or godlike.
I like FF8 a lot and I found the first part pretty funny :D. Though he apparently does the same thing lots of other people do - thinking the gf sequences are useless, when you can use them to boost :rolleyes2

Well I actually enjoyed it. This is my favourite FF game, but I can see where the guy is coming from with the junction system. I feel like correcting him when he keeps complaining about the tuttorial's "PRESS TRIANGLE DAMMIT!" ... or was that circle? meh, i don't have a playstation anymore. I know there's a button that skips them.
and the Diablo thing was hillarious.
I wish he'd make more parts to it. I was disappointed when he stopped at the beginning of the first dream sequence.
the diablos thing was funny though his technique for beating it is flawed, the best way is to use 3 protects from the earlier boss fight....then to draw and stock demi's and then fire them back at Diablos to get a free curaga thus always keeping one person in the battle (generally use selphie for this) since blind only reduces the chance of being hit by around 20% or so (at least versus diablos it does), he also goes on about the shop system and how it wasn't available until he you get tonberry GF...but then went on to say how when he brought the train ticket he had to sell items to pay for it, he also went on about how difficult to get cash was in FF games when talking about 8 that's plain untrue you just run around for 30 mins during the hours of time spent drawing magic from monsters you should in all honesty have tons of gil to purchase the ticket and some potions/phoenix downs. Also regardless Triple Triad was the best of the mini games put in to an RPG in a long time, I suppose a side quest in the suidoken games is to collect all 108 stars of destiny or in the case of suidoken 4 (the only one I currently own) crew members, now that is far more annoying than wiping out the rules in TT and takes far longer.

I love FFVIII. But within the first 3 minutes I had to pause this and try my hardest not to burst out laughing in the middle of the library. this is hilarious, but moreso it's reminding me why I like VIII.
edit: this dude's an idiot with the draw, if you put cursor on memory in config you can just hold down circle and draw while doing nothing
The Gunblade always hit even when blind if you pull the trigger, but won't double the damage.
Erh? Reason you always hit, is becouse youve got 255 in hit% to begin with.
Cant imagine blind making any difference to the dmg you're doing.

This guy is right on the money with all of his comments btw. Drawing magic is the most tedious and obnoxious dumbass system every invented. I could do without the homophobic stuff, but most of it is unfortunately true. You'd have to be goddamn blind not to notice how ridiculously effeminate all the men in the game are.

On topic: yeah shove the cursor to memory and for around 20 minutes you could sit there playing pokemon or reading a book only having to change the command or position of the cursor when the spell got to 100.

He's obviously only out to bash the game to get some laughs. The review is funny, but he uses way to much time on the negative things (e.g. the drawing, which is, let's face it, boring) and not anything on the positive (besides the hot-ness of Quistis). Anyway, the review is pure entertainment.

The guy's voice irritated me at first and I didn't get much out of it the first time I watched an episode if it. I got morbidly curious to see what the rest was like and actually enjoyed it. Wasn't the greatest thing I've ever seen; I've certainly seen worse, but it was actually quite funny in parts.
