I *almost* posted this when I saw it on Monday, but ultimately decided against it. I would have even posted a much less nerdy link as well. (C'mon, Saiyan Island, it's too easy.)
But yeah, I was excited about it when I first heard about it 5 years ago. Not so much now. I was always skeptical of how the aerial combat would work (DBZ is not about fighting on the ground), but after Matrix 3's final fight, I had hope.
Still, a human with Goku Hair would be absolutely ridiculous. And a human without Goku Hair would be absolutlely sacrilege. Kind of a lose-lose situation.
There goes my childhood... :D
Eh. Even if they did make one, I'd only rent it. It sure would be interesting none the less.

this will be made of epic fail...if the budget is 90 million, 89 million will be spent on hair gel/spray.
also, filmed in canada? well the exchange rate ain't what it used to be, so labour would be cheaper in the states but i guess production costs are still different

I dunno, if you look at the way they did the CG scenes in Kung Fu Hustle, if they do it right the action scenes in this movie could be pretty epic. Everything else will no doubt be turd, but that could be pretty cool.

I didn't notice this in previous reports, but it seems this one will in fact be based off of 'Dragonball' and not 'DBZ' since it seems like Piccolo is going to be the bad guy.
James Marsters is Piccolo. I kinda hope he uses his European accent.

James Wong is directing, Stephen Chow is producing.

This movie will most likely be terrible and the cheesiest movie to come out this year. I'm hoping it can be as watchable as Mortal Kombat, but I'm not sure. I have no clue why they picked buffed up Chow Yun Fat for the role of Master Roshi they could've gotten any old skinny dude to play him.
At least this film will entertain me more than the cartoon. Saying that, the Japanese really should've done this as they are the masters of cheesy live action, uh... action. Hell, they've kept Super Sentai running for over thirty years and Kamen Rider's not doing so bad.

It'll either be really cool or really bad. There's no in-between with movies like this. The stunt team that worked on The Matrix and 300 are also involved in this movie, so I guess that at least the action sequences will be cool.
Also, I was kinda surprised to see some of the people involved, like e.g. Emmy Rossum and James Marsters.
I'll use the "Wait-and-see" strategy. If it stinks... Well, put it this way, I'll be at my friend's house watching something else or playing games like Halo. (I may also considering reading a novel, be it written or graphic.)
Hurt my feelings. I heard that spike from Buffy the vampire slayer and Angel, will be playing Vegeta. What the fudge?!?

Well if memory serves there's not a whole lot in DB after King Piccolo. Though I never saw much past then. But if this movie does moderately well then we'll get more, possibly prequels, and most likely sequels.
