What's your fav music genre?
I like anything that deals with rock.
Mainly Metal.
I'm entirely versatile with musical genres; Rap, R & B, Garage, Grime, Soul, Bashment, some rock, Hip Hop and some Pop being relatively the most listened to genres.
Modern and traditional folk.
That's pretty much it.
Rock, Metal, Heavy Metal, J Pop, occasionally techno, very occasionally Drum & Bass, Video game music
Emo, screamo, metalcore, and some pop punk. :D
I used to listen at too many genres but lately i listen only to soundtracks (and mostly video game ones)
Alternative, Reggae, Soft Rock, and Hard Rock.
Black/Pagan/Symphonic metal and darkwave mostly.
Celtic and renaissance and some new age to relax.
I like most every genre, in some way or form. My two favourites are definitely progressive (of any subdivision) and black metal.
Classic Rock that is not Southern Rock.
rock.
mostly stuff from 1960-2005.
I love all types of Rock and all things related, with the exception of metal, punk, and emo of any type.
I'm pretty much in the same boat as Ryth, I like things from almost every genre bar a few. Though my favourite stuff at the moment is Jazz, Post-rock and Punk, although there's always some form of hip hop, extreme metal, orchestral and classical, solo piano music and then random mashed up genres of death MCM playing for me. :monster:
Hippidy Hop!
and whatever Dan and Neel tell me to listen to :p
Lo-fi, post-rock and folky-ish stuff.
Industrial/EBM
For those wo haven't any idea as to what that is, think bands like :Wumpscut:, Das Ich, pre 1999 era Front Line Assembly, pre 2000 era KMFDM and Skinny Puppy, and pre 1996 era NIN.
There is literally no genre that's not included on my iPod.
Though if I had to pick a favorite, I'd just go with the genres who have the most artists I like.
In which case it would be ska, underground hip-hop, and indie rock.
Rock and all it's sub-divisions.
Although I am disgustingly diverse in my music taste. But Rock mostly.
Mainly rock. Especially alternative, funk and psychedelic rock.
I like pretty much everything except banal pop, most rap and most opera. Faves are Punk (as in Crass, DK, Discharge etc rather than modern american pop-punk a la Green Day) and Jazz (esp Fusion). Recently been listening to a lot of Bulgarian folk.
Ambient, Big Beat, Breakbeat, Electronic, Electronica, Drum 'n' Bass, Soundtrack
Everything except country and screamo. Yes, even Christian rock I like...sometimes. Country is just annoying to me and I can't relate to it at all. Screamo is too loud and it all sounds the same to me. "WAH WAH WAH." I used to dislike trance techno, but it has been growing on me. I still won't listen that type of music leisurely, but it's tolerable now.
I'll pretty much give anything a listening to if someone asks me. But most of the time I tend to stay within the rock and metal genre's. Ever since I started listening to Opeth, I cannot seem to get enough of all that tasty-metal goodness. Seriously, if anyone knows of some really good metal bands (any genre of metal, except for power) send me a pm and recommend some stuff.
I enjoy any music excepting the following: country or music featuring unintelligible shouts passed off as lyrics. This is a problem, as my room mate is absolutely obsessed with country.
Progressive Rock all the way!
But I generally enjoy a lot of genres - jazz, classical, classic rock, video game music, and a sampling of most other genres.
The only genres I really don't like are hip-hop, rap, country and punk. I dislike almost all current music, or at least the music that's popular and played a lot on TV and radio. I'm more of a retro guy, and I specifically like music from the 70s the most.
