Gilgamesh is just plain awesome. He should have his own video game:)
My favourite villain from FFV certainly. I found the boss battles against him to be among the most fun in the game and you really can't argue with the music. He had the right balance of silliness and seriousness to make him a really effective and likeable character.
Gilgamesh is one of the best side villains I've seen, and his theme music is awesome.
"We will now fight like men! And ladies! And ladies that dress like men!"
I'd be lying if I didn't call that the best quote in the entire game.

I think that his demise in Final Fantasy V was a clever way of keeping him around, at least in spirit, through the course of other Final Fantasy games.
He dies with utmost finality, though.
But, he disappears into an unknown abyss. It is analogous to a cartoon villain that falls off a cliff into the ravine.

That actually happened to me the first time I played through, due to the magic of Dual Wield and Rapid Fire. I didn't even know he was s'posed to show up, and had to look it up later.
"Battle with Gilgamesh" was the best battle music in ANY FF, imho.
I support that! I think that maybe Gilgamesh and that guy you fight in the train (that looks like him) are somehow related. Anyways, Gilgamesh is cool and all and he even gave his life to kill Necrophhobia.Quote:
